What happened to that? It makes me wonder if Dababy had bought that house for her. She seemed to be displaced after their public fallout.
Excellent analysis, as usual, Jouelzy! However, part of me wonders if Danileigh thought she would be an exception to the rule. I wonder if Danileigh thought she was entitled to better treatment because she is racially ambiguous, light-skinned (well, pre-Angie Martinez interview lol), conventionally attractive, and often desirable to men like Da-Baby. Or, to your point, perhaps the attention and monetary gain were enough for her to take a chance on a man with a history of violent behavior. Another thought I had as you were speaking about the urban music industry is the importance of age. Women as young as 18-19 were entering the industry seems like an important point. I imagine it's easier to be inculcated in a toxic work environment when you are at the tender age of 18/19 versus 35.
This video really highlights how capitalism is only ever intended to support and uplift the patriarchy. So much of the discourse we hear today about girl bossing or taking a man for all he's worth actively brings harm to other women. Putting aside my feelings on Danileigh as a Dominican woman pretending to be unaware of colorism while being from one the most racist and colorist places to exist in the Caribbean .... she was using the playbook as intended. I feel like at our big ages we should be educating younger women, not leaving them to drown in their own young dumbness. I’m sure we’ve all done less than stellar things and had less than open attitudes towards others in our early 20’s. It’s recognized by science that our brains aren’t even fully formed until 25, especially the part of the brain that affects impulse control and understanding our decisions on a large scale, long term. We live and we learn, if we’re lucky 💞
When we do they call us bitter and jealous. It’s like they gotta see it to believe or some shit. Ya know when you go to the coke machine and it doesn’t work and you try and tell the next person and they put the money in anyway? Yeah, that.

Women who don’t have anything to offer anyone other than their body will ALWAYS use their looks and their body to get ahead no matter how harmful it is to themselves or other women. It’s literally called survival. In normal altruistic communities (not based in capitalism) If you can’t survive on your own you depend on your community for survival. Love the commentary and the deep thought as always. Access, resources, and power are what it boils down to. I still think there needs to be new representation for Black, female artists to help navigate them around this BS. Sucks that the gatekeepers are these creepy, violent men & women discussed in the video. Thanks, Jouelzy. Hair is cute too boo 💕 🔥
This is a problem in all professional work. The women rarely get the payout they expect and the negative taint of being a prude turns positive in the long run. Its just hard in the first couple of years but if you keep your head down and keep your boundaries strong you can succeed in an environment that encourages such transactional relationships. The problem for all of us is when these Dani Leigh types decide to ride the Me Too wave too.

Thinking about the history of the DR her bringing up being a Dominican woman and saying that she didn't mean to make a song about skintone is laughable.
Nah, there’s plenty of everyday regular degular women who fall out over a broke man and they’re the ultimate breadwinners. All this comes down to patriarchy being genderless. Dani Leigh fell prey to the mindset every woman hits in their life (usually as a teen or 20 year old) with a man who’s considered “a prize” by their community even though he’s terrible as a partner and human. The woman walks in KNOWING he’s not shit and thinks she’ll be the woman to change him and gets her face cracked up only to have to eat crow later. The woman is adhering to the belief that it could never happen to her because the whole community works under the myth that a man is “changed” by a “good” woman and remains and infant until such time. So, we usually blame said woman and never look at that man to take responsibility.

Jouelzy I can not wait for you to do a podcast!! I love your topics and how you give knowledge thats educational and doesn’t feel like we are being talked down to.
Your knowledge and your ability to verbally express what you know is so very impressive. I really enjoy listening and learning from you.💯
I love ur takes i feel we are not acknowledging the fact that nowadays under capitalism its not dating for power but for survival people dont have the means to support themselves and women often have to endure and seek out wealthy awful men who can take care of them
Omg yes. I always loved music and hoped to work in thar industry but after a PR internship working with music artists I was like absolutely not
“Is your hair dry? I have pink oil”…TF ?!?! I want blood sis…BLOOD!😤🤬
Hey Jouelzy! So good to see your vids again!
💯
I really love how you articulated everythingggg. Yes yes yes🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
I def agree that the music industry is very compromising for black women and when we’re in we’re not treated well
I’m so glad I found your channel. You provide a lot of insight on top of talking about the topic you’re discussing. You’re amazing!! CONGRATULATIONS in advance for 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS & VIEWS🎉💙💙💙
No, no, no. I had to stop the video after the non-Black woman boldly asked you if you needed pink lotion. No. ‘Cause I’m ready to fight!
@ashlovestoshop IKR? My brain stopped and I had to rewind because I couldn't believe what I just heard! Definitely taking off my earrings.... But I understand having to hold your tongue in certain situations. That non-black woman's face would be burned beyond belief from my side-eye!
Girl this is a whole conversation 🙄 😒 especially for this pretty women quote on quote preferences..
I feel like the preferences have become the new concubines and the walking around pretty and empty sold themselves to the highest bidder living of of beauty for the exchange access.
Turn around and sold your soul and your spirit.
If we look at some of these women passed around in the industry dating one man then the next all friends weird awkward 🤫🤔😒
One word: Theraflu! That stuff has always been effective whenever I had allergies, cold/flu, and sinus issues. It's a godsend imo.
Feel better!
I'm not gonna lie. I had forgotten about DaniLeigh until now. It's been a hot minute!
I know yall didn't notice the Curly fro, Jouelzy!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰 Happy to see you again, love the popsnarks.

I’ve been yearning for a new video, and you did not disappoint!
I love your hair & content🤌🇿🇦❤
I haven't watched you in such a long time. You look fantastic!
Your smile is beautiful
Your hair is very cute
She's definitely still with him
@Lakacia Lloyd I feel like she knows exactly what she's doing and feels no ways she probably just didn't think things would explode publicly the way it did.. Da baby always talks shit and is who he is.. she just wants to be linked to him for beneficial reasons and she probably does love him but I feel like she was always cool with his ways it just backfired
Im here again 6 months later watchn this deliciousness. Where is your 'Tell All' book? I neeeeed it 😁
Just randomly stumbled on your page last night and I’ve been hooked😻✨here for the content👏🏿💕
I told my friend that we can expect Dani to rebrand herself. I'm waiting to see what the new music or whatever is coming will sound like.
She's already doing the rebranding.
I feel like she might come out with an album in Spanish to try and pander to her community
Lol her voice changed she is blk fishing voice now vs prince time
As a young woman it’s rare to think that your pocketbooks isn’t special when there are so many
Your hair and nails look bomb! xxx
Good to see you btw ❤
i love the way you speak so eloquently
Joulzey: “Now I ain’t saying she’s a goldigger🎶…”
ok ima come back for relevant commentary but omg 🤩🤩🤩 that new smile is everything on youuuu! i feel like you had braces for all of a year lol
Been waiting for this one.☝️
I flipping 🥰 your content...keep it coming sis!!!
This kind of connection to power mirrors(or is) hypergamy for women; not in positive way. It’s also a dance with the Devil for some semblance of viability and fame until one can gain their own power. Thanks for another great analysis.
Didn't Dababy get a fan and Meme pregnant at the same time but Dani still chose to get pregnant?
No, the fan was lying. He got another woman pregnant that he was seeing after his first fall out with Meme.
Loved this video!
Crazy! Eye opening
She been rumored to have some sort of a relationship with Prince as well. If so, shes probably used to social climbing.
Apparently she choreo'd Prince music video when she was young. Like a teenager or something.
Idk about that but she was definitely his type lol
@@sodamnsexy16 I believe this..he had a way of pushing certain artists but basically for their looks
Which prince ? The one that passed away ?
ew?
Damn the more I realize how many of these light-skinned, ethic question marks or ambiguous girlies cosplaying with BW formulas there are-I mean the shear NUMBER OF THEM-out now, and I analyze what these girls were playing at, trying to gain; the more I realize just how pioneering that Kardashian-Jenner coven is in establishing and entrenching a post-talent era and template.
Honest question, does Dani have other songs other than easy?
Yella bone 😅
This is such a good video!
OMG I loved that book!!!!!
I can't stand Da baby. You were very gracious in your analysis of Danni....You're looking gorgeous, hair on point!
Girl I had to go look up that Russell Simmons mess bc they sure swept that under the rug!!! Not him evading a r*pe charge due to the statute of limitations😭😭😭😭 MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN AINNOWAY AINNOWAY AINNOWAY🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
Good talk!!
excellent video
When the sex is good ….. & the career is poppin .. I get it
Spot on 🤧
Great video!
How do you block someone on Spotify? Because Ms. Yellow Bone is what he want can't get no play hours from meeeeeeeeee
10:58 😂
With the fire on high is recommended on Libby
YOU CAN BLOCK PEOPLE ON SPOTIFY?
That was news to me too!!
I REALLY appreciate the breakdown of access, means and power because no judgment but…yikes
