And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life...... This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes, I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. tom brady was a huge part of the super bowl wins but he’s been saved by his defense and vinatieri multiple times. In my opinion its jerry rice. He was literally the definition of perfection at the wide receiver position and is also a super bowl champion. He doesnt have any regular season mvps cause its hard for a wide receiver to win one especially back in them days. Qbs have a huge role but they shouldn’t always be above everyone else because without the whole team you cant win anything.
he was in the best situation for the longest amount of time in my opinion, no one is going to be saying "Throw on some Tom Brady highlights!!!" in 10-20 years because all he did was throw 15 yard passes to elite talent with a top 5 defense every year. mans won a super bowl scoring 13 points and people forget that, lol.
exactly. brady threw for 500 and defense lost the game for him. gostkowski missed an extra point that lost them a trip to the super bowl. people also seem to firget helmet catch. only been a week but people also forget how defense choked in the last minute against the rams.
Jim Brown would be definitely be in the conversation, but he stepped away from the game to early, but he would be the only one in the conversation with Tom Brady. Jim Brown was just like a person from another planet dropped off here, LMAO. But it's hard to compare eras, and fitness regimens and modern training techniques and money, money, money. If there was kind of money back them Jim might have stayed, but then we don't get to see him in The Dirty Dozen with Lee Marvin and that amazing cast or with Rachel Welch and Burt Reynolds in 100 rifles :)
Best or Greatest? I think the two yield different conversations. Definitely the greatest, but the best? That's too wide open with how many positions there are in football. I think the fair conversation is to isolate 'best' in football to a position by position conversations. He's the best QB for sure.
I Disagree with Steven A. Greatest QB of all time I agreed, greatest NFL player all time I disagree. The NFL is the only sport you can't group together cause if it wasn't for the Defense Tom Brady wont have the chance to comeback back down multiple touchdown and vise versus, we have so many all time defense hall of fame and active players now that could only control their end of the job.
Put someone else on those final drives, and they won’t do it time and time again like Tom did, he literally moved teams and won, so obviously defense plays a big part of the game, but thats just football, and Tom takes pay cuts too to make the team better, ain’t any other quarterback doing that, or study as much as him
@@rmadrid4824 I agreed 99% of that statement except you would have to play both side of the field. This is why the NFL is hard to say the greatest player of all time. MLB, NBA, NHL, Soccer etc. Those sport players can play both side of the field . Just not in the NFL.
He could play 2 more season maybe more, but I think he made the right move smart man he played 22 season and didn't get injured only once and he's proved enough

when arron donald and arron rodgers play the same sport its hard to say who the goat is since the skillset is so different depending on position
Tom Brady has more passing Td’s in his 40’s than Troy Aikman had in his entire HOF career…
And he's only been in his 40s for 5 years
Does anyone know if TB12 will play pro bowl? Be good to see him have one more hit out and make it fun as well.
Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, and Adam Vinatieri - NFL Mt. Rushmore
Brady is the greatest football player of all time
Brady is in a stratosphere all by himself, any comparison or debate is just for TV.
No he’s the best QB of all time not best football player
@@user-sc8cl4ot7s Nah you're wrong.
@@user-sc8cl4ot7s QB is the most important position in the NFL so I’d say it’s about right. It’s just how you view the importance of each position and preference.
Its not the National Throw the ball Association. Football encompasses so much more than throwing a ball. There are so many Football things Brady can't do that others can do.
@@tahireed but he plays the most important position
if this is Stephen’s take then he needs to take back all his takes saying Rodgers is the best QB he’s ever seen if now all of a sudden the amount of wins you have determines who is the best player
He’s said he’s the best player he’s seen from a talent perspective, not overall.
I'm a Pats fan and a Brady fan. That said... in football, probably more than any other sport... a team is more relevant than any single player. So I'd say there is no single greatest football player. Just greatest players at their position. And yes... Brady is the QB GOAT.
Brady also helped form those teams since he took paycut after paycut or altered his contract. Players also took less in order to play with him.
He for sure carved his place in the NFL Mount Rushmore.
Its interesting how most are praising his stats and wins but neglect his greatest ability. He makes everyone around him over perform. He brings the entire team to a new level of excellence that no other sports personality can claim. I don't understand the full measure of this but listening to many who played with him over the years I understand some of it. His true talent is not measured in statistics. Its only a byproduct.
This man has had a billion team mates and most say the same about him 🐐
Top 5 QBs of all time
1)Brady
2)Joe Montana
3)Otto Graham
4)Terry Bradshaw
5) Troy Aikman
Worst list cause you don’t have Peyton Manning
And terry bradshaw is no where near top 5
@@larryjames3437 That’s your opinion
@@UnknownRaiderGuy I don’t understand how you have Bradshaw and aikman ahead of Manning. Any other person will call you delusional
@@larryjames3437 Peyton was a great QBs but how many Rings Peyton had ? That’s why majority people will call you delusional putting someone that didn’t fully accomplish more seasons over someone who did. That’s your bias opinion on Peyton 🤷🏽♂️
No one effected winning more than Tom Brady. There is no argument for anybody else being the GOAT at any other position
Haha stop it
1. Brady 2. L.T 3. Rice (Honorable Mention) - Joe Greene 10 Pro Bowls /4 SB Rings - 2 time defensive player of the year
A short while ago SAS said it’s Dion Sanders. Hahaha SAS this guy is a yes man.
Well said
LT, Brady, Deion Sanders...it can be tough taking positions out of the discussion.
“I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition - if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game, There is a physical, mental and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life...... This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes, I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.” - Tom Brady
Greatest player ever at the most difficult position ever. 7 rings. He’s the GOAT.
7 rings…3 MVPs…most TDs passed…most Yards thrown…most pass completions…in both the playoffs and regular season…and won in 3 different decades. Sounds like the best football player ever to me.
Sounds like the best QB ever
@@pettwaymichael I said sounds like it to me. I’m not gonna say anyone else’s opinion is wrong though. In regards to most important position it’s the QB so that’s how I see it. If people say Jerry LT Prime or whoever that’s fine but this my choice. It’s really no wrong or right answer.
Finally u said something true
LT could win a game without having the ball in his hands..a QB is dependent on WR, RB,& TE to make a play for him
tom brady was a huge part of the super bowl wins but he’s been saved by his defense and vinatieri multiple times.
Joe Montana won a SB without Rice.
he was in the best situation for the longest amount of time in my opinion, no one is going to be saying "Throw on some Tom Brady highlights!!!" in 10-20 years because all he did was throw 15 yard passes to elite talent with a top 5 defense every year. mans won a super bowl scoring 13 points and people forget that, lol.
Jerry Rice is the greatest football player ever. Jerry also did it in his twenties, thirties, and his forties. Tom is the greatest qb ever
Skip Bayless was a Joe Montana guy 15+ years ago? Pretty cool. But the kid who idolized Joe surpassed him.
Oh yeah fasho it was hard for them to accept that fans were acknowledging Brady as better than Montana
Quarterbacks play the key position.
People forget all those fieldgoals /defence he was on
exactly. brady threw for 500 and defense lost the game for him. gostkowski missed an extra point that lost them a trip to the super bowl. people also seem to firget helmet catch. only been a week but people also forget how defense choked in the last minute against the rams.
Deion Sanders. Was great on special teams, offense, and defense. Won superbowls on 2 different teams
TB12 best ever athlete and best ever in the NFL, sad and happy for his retirement, Let’s Go!!!!!!
He’s more accomplished than the greatest defensive player ever by 2x though. So if you did have to say it was someone it’d have to be Brady
Put someone else on those final drives, and they won’t do it time and time again like Tom did, he literally moved teams and won, so obviously defense plays a big part of the game, but thats just football, and Tom takes pay cuts too to make the team better, ain’t any other quarterback doing that, or study as much as him
Greatest football player ever. There's no other that can do what he does. Stop.
@@rmadrid4824 I agreed 99% of that statement except you would have to play both side of the field. This is why the NFL is hard to say the greatest player of all time. MLB, NBA, NHL, Soccer etc. Those sport players can play both side of the field . Just not in the NFL.
Dude got 3 separate hall of fame careers of his 20,30,40 it’s not even a question
Yes best qb position by position.....agree with that.....
Almost every sport has debatable G.O.A.T's except for Tom Brady
He's the undisputed G.O.A.T of American Football
I would say Wayne Gretzky of the NHL could be another one but you’re ultimately right
brady boy eternal nfl goat
Yeah… if The Rams don’t come down with that catch… Brady wins his 8th supper bowl this year
Preach it, Stephen A.
He could play 2 more season maybe more, but I think he made the right move smart man he played 22 season and didn't get injured only once and he's proved enough
90’s kids got so lucky . Caught late Michael Jordan years , watched Kobe and Tom Brady at the same time , and saw young Lebron come up. Sheesh.
No one has mentioned Tom Bady is #12, played 2021, 2022, announcement 2.1.22. Think on that.
This is a lame way to retire.
He should be on a stadium with crowd applauding and giving him standing ovation.
Or have a press conference.
Not through social media.
Soon to be 4 time MVP. Way to end a legendary career.
Woah what a hot take I’ve never heard anyone say this before
This won't be an argument 50 years from now.
Steven A. was so critical to Brady in the Beginning of First Take with Tom Brady...
Tom Brady is the most accomplished player and winningest football player but I would not say he is the best football player ever. I would say guys like Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor and Deion Sanders are one of the best. You can’t really compare superbowls with non QBs because the QB position is the most important in terms of winning but that doesn’t mean they are the best athletes and skilled players on the field
