Adding Orange For a Touch of Dutch

- Today, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines introduced its unique orange-coloured Boeing 777-300. The well-known KLM Blue is being combined with orange highlights. The transition between the two colours features aspects of the Dutch flag. The combination emphasises KLM’s Dutch roots and pride in the national colour of the Netherlands.

As iconic the blue livery is, I feel like it should get a change because the orange looks incredible

@@florisplaysgames its decent but the crew was sooo kind to me when i threw up waiting on the jetway en they see me throwing up one flight attendance came uo to me and my mom and they maked way for us so i can pass through and go to the toilet and i was alowd in the cockpit was fun

Me and my wife have traveled with this plane in 2017 to Taiwan to meet our adoptive daughter and bring her home with us. This plane with is special livery has a special meaning for us.
I never likes so much the KLM blue color. Now with orange, ir's so cool.
Wow, that looks amazing! I also like the idea of using the colours of the French Flag or is it the Dutch Flag for the stripe.

...plane just landed at LAX (May 7, 2020 around 5pm), but I wasn't ready to capture it...I was waiting for Virgin Atlantic's A350....now I have to hunt/wait for this KLM triple seven to come back...it was quite striking and surprising...(but what's the reg number...)

+Dennis van der Wijst Because this new aircraft already had the new interior and it was a çlassic KLM' aircraft. The ones with the old livery, including the PH-BVD (SkyTeam livery) still have the old interior or.... they have the new interior and exterior, but they were the KLM Asia planes.
Correct answer: Because this is the plane they are going to use to send athletes to the olympics.
That is correct, Jordiw00t. But his question was why did they paint this specific 777-300 and not one that had the old livery. The answer is that PH-BVA had the new livery as well as the new interior. If you going to send a plane to Rio for PR purposes, it makes sense that besides the outside the inside is also new. The other aircraft were in 'Asia' livery without a crown above the KLM, so that wasn't possible.
