I thought I had killed them when I pulled that old alarm out of this car, and it is way better, but it still had a problem. I was suspicious of the radio because it has some problems but this is a good way to confirm it. Actually, I had even money on the problem being in the alternator because that is common, but it did pass the tests with my alternator tester early on. With this minor electrical issue solved, all this car needs is a little underhood detail work and I think the rescue is done!
Just got back into the Foxbodies and bought my Project Girl ('92 5.0 5-speed, looks just like the one your working on. Not as nice nor the red stripe on trim) and bought a new red top optima and it drains in about a week or so(not exactly sure but around there give or take) so I bought a amp hound 2 as well as a Power Probe short/open circuit finder and Lisle relay pro to help plus just trying to build up my diagnostic equipment because I hope to start buying more of these Foxbodies that I absolutely love. Anyways great tip and been watching alot of your videos Sir to help me get back into learning how to diagnose before I start throwing parts at them because Ive been buying ALOT of tools here within the last year to get ready when I get the time to start working on them, specially my project girl. Oh and the wife has finally seen that I need a much bigger toolbox and give me the goahead for a ICON 73" with work center a 2 side lockers. I'm A Lucky Man!😊 But anyway Sir thank you for your knowledge and making these videos. Between You, TIP, KASL & my 15+ years of Foxbody Books I have a good start. Thank You Sir!
I have always preferred spending money on a tool rather than a service when reasonably possible. And when it comes to tools, part of the art is knowing when a cheap tool is ok and when you should spend real money on a serious tool. Maybe that should be a video? Anyway, thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching!
@tecmotiondyno Sir That would be a great video! Specially for and teaching new/young Foxbody owners how to diagnose and have & take pride in doing the work theirselves. I'm also saving right now for the new ICON Smoke machine because I feel that is one important machine to help diagnose our beloved Foxbodies and it will save alot of headache, time and money from not just throwing parts on/at. And if I may Sir? Make (if you have the time) a good long or part 1, part 2 on breaking down into categories like engine, vacuum, vacuum, electrical and such. Again Sir on helping new/young men & women how-to's or like me not so young but been many years (12 years since my last Foxbody>'90 5.0 5-speed) to get back into the hang and things we just forgot and needing reminded of from time to time! Thank You Sir & if you do I for one will difently share 'em!! Ha e A Good Weekend Sir and thanks for all you videos. Appreciate them and you!
I have an 89 GT in storage and everything I go to start it the battery is dead. I never knew you could trace the battery draw this way. Thanks for the tip.
Great info for the community- thanks for sharing Mathew
I see these questions on Facebook groups all the time, so hopefully it helps a few guys out!
Great video, very informative. Thank you.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great how-to once again! Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I have a slight draw and have been ignoring it but now I’m ready to see what I can find.

Make your choice of wife wisely? 😂

@@tecmotiondyno I'm assuming it would be the same process on a deisel with two batteries.
