    Bit of perspective - that was a very decent BaBas team who had nothing to lose. All the pressure was on England. That said, the lineout was shocking and the defence was patchy as hell.

    14 men side, most of them third choices for France or even tryouts. England is at the bottom of the bottom of its level

    • @FromAgen

      Ollivon is the real captain for France. Penaud is a first choice on the wing. Couilloud and Le Garrec are may be the best numbers 9 in the World after Dupont. Hastoy and Carbonel are also at the Tier 1 level as a fly-halves.The French rugby is at its best right now.

    • @tombradshawdrums
      @tombradshawdrums 2 года назад +2

      Dude - it was poor, but Penaud, Vakatowa, Ollivon are all France’s best players in their respective positions - so that’s disingenuous to say, plus a world class second row partnership, quality front row and very dangerous back line.

    • @Onyx5021
      @Onyx5021 2 года назад +2

      @@tombradshawdrums penaud sure. Ollivon has been away from the French XV for more than a year, he’s certainly not better than aldritt or woki right now but he’s coming back to form. Vakatawa ? Same thing away from France for a year and he’s been transparent all year. Fickou and Danty are the French starters, miles and miles above Vakatawa currently.
      You’re just highlighting that France has a monstrous depth in every position which I agree with

      @@Onyx5021 Perfectly right ! I hope to see Macalou against Japan this summer. He has only 8 caps at 27, this is miserable in view of his potential. Banned of the French team by Brunel in 2018 for extra-sporting reasons, and sometimes injured Macalou is an incredible athlete not employed for France.

    so what were these new ideas and plans that were being tried out then? give George a good send off rather than winning? have a penalty try awarded against you for indiscipline? not be able to swap to a kicker that can kick? ineffective subs? trashed by 14 men? really wish I could have seen something that didn’t work out but might do next time but the game isn’t that complicated! gawd help us in Perth……

      Know more about french rugby, most of that team came from teams that were in the top 14 barrage matches only a week ago, and many play for their country. It was a top team. I’m not excusing England, but the baabaas was as strong a team as I’ve ever seen, I’d predicted 40 points.

    • @jpc7118
      @jpc7118 2 года назад

      @@kenrehill8775 None of these french players excepted Ollivon would make the french A team and you missed the hour played at 15 english vs 14... also the babaas had players which had never played together as there were different nationalities. French coaching team was somewhat experimental too... you can put all the 15 best players on earth in the same team, if they had only few days of training and don't speak the same languages, nothing proves they will be a super team... Clearly babaas hadn't much top players and they played 1 hour at 14 against the home team.

    If he is using these non-test matches to try new things when it doesn't matter then why not go all in with a totally experimental side? Maybe just someone like Curry for captaincy experience but otherwise all new. Picking a team that is as strong as possible in the circumstances then sending them out to look like fools is a bit odd. And then to drop the whole thing and go back to kick and tackle against Australia, what was the point?

    • @mlguy8376
      @mlguy8376 2 года назад

      I have always defended Eddie Jones, it was a head scratcher some of the choices. I do believe him when he says he was looking at how players play with the system, and that is the better way of checking new players - that being said no one stuck their hand up, or passed the “test”.

    • @mark9892

    It was an annihilation by a scratch team playing most of the game with just 14 men. Must be England’s worst ever defeat by the Baa Baas. At least, I can’t remember a worse performance.
    Whither England now? Australia… but to what effect? If England get beaten heavily in the series, on top of a poor 6-Nations, then sadly I think the Eddie Jones era might be over.
    Hope that’s not the outcome and that both England and Jones can find their way,

      Frances autumn and 6nations success, had a lot to do with their squad they sent out to Australia.. i can't blame eddie for saying he was trying something new.. cause everyones (english fans) been saying eddie should let the team run the ball 🤣😂😂 now they did.. i feel like the england team needs to go back to doing what their 2 best clubs are good at.. forwards ball(Leicester Tigers)and kicking (Saracens)

    Jones will go on nothing else than on his own terms which will be after the World Cup. He’s his own boss essentially it’s. The theory is all the pieces will align in time for the World Cup, however it’s extremely difficult to see this at the moment. Hopefully Dombrandt is fit for the AU tour but at least the 8 shirt would be up for grabs for Barbeary

    World cup final again, what is it with eddie’s team…..strategy is great but when it is not working, where is plan B-C-D? Like an episode of Blackadder goes fourth …… winning is a habit. 2003 team for example, we have the talent. Sigh

    Waffle. Vickery summed it up when he said it’s time to stop talking about being on a journey and time to start winning. Not one journalist asked any probing questions. Why are they, as the RFU, intimidated by EJ? Emporer’s new clothes I’m afraid. Losing by 50 to 14 players is not acceptable. Not in the run up year to a World Cup. Very little to be pleased about that performance. Tired of these post match newspeak bs excuses.
