The Chevy SS is one of my favorite cars and I really wish GM would have made more of them so they were more available. I also love the Gen 2 CTS-V.

If you wanted one, you should have ordered one. They sold an extra thousand ‘17 models because people started paying attention and learned GM was shuttering Holden Assembly in Elizabeth. They started ordering cars and Holden built them. You could have walked into any Chevy dealer in the US and placed your order.

You can get over radiator intake. I have one on my maggie ls3 in Australia.
Remove the green air filter and make a pull. Might just need a less restrictive filter. Thats a badass car

What the hell in australia we get around 500 Rear wheel Kw easy with this set up and a Cold air Intake, with a 10 to 12 % pulley upgrade and tune with headers and full 2.5 or 3 Inch Exhaust system, headers are 1-7/8", which asyerly gets around 500 REAR WHEEL KW or around the 670 HP ?
It's an Australian car based off the same platform as the 2014 camaro.
We had utility versions like the el camino and coupe versions like the GTO.

You need an "over the radiator" intake...period!
OKAY. Gotta say it first. THAT is the kind of video people want to see. They want to see how a frigging huge cold air intake just somehow fit into an engine bay that was PACKED. Working out problems! Wrenching! Showing the "doing the same cam, heads, intake, bla bla bla seems to be what EVERYWHERE is doing!
Watch that the soft hose from the intake isn't sucked closed because that's a pretty soft hose.
What cam & heads did you go with?

Hey I know this video is a few years old but I just wanted to bring something to your attention...the overlay at ~7 minutes says 570hp and 624.9 lb/ft but the dyno shows 524.9 lb/ft. Just looks like a typo, probably not a big deal just didn't know if you were aware and I didn't see any other comments about it. Love the SS though, looks like a killer daily driver.

So much hate for Max. Believe it or not Max is an excellent tech. He has an eye for every little detail which is absolutely required in this line of work.
FYI, I am the shop manager at CSP and am in charge of looking over his and every other techs work before it hits the Dyno.

Headers, pulley drop, cam , colder stat, colder plugs, intake, bigger downpipe and exhaust n a tune
A Holden, I believe there is a hidden Holden symbol somewhere in the interior.
themrjones RPM did one and all it had was holden badges on it and they called it a Chevy SS which is what is we do have them here in the states my local Chevy dealer has them

VF Holden Commodore SS from Australia, sold as a Chevy SS in the states. Great car but was discontinued in 2017 and is now a POS imported front wheel drive.

OMG what the hell, why are you guys still using the factory air box, when you can have an OVER the radiator COLd air intake, look at VCM Cold Air Intakes in australia or Harrop engineering in australia and for gods sake get one fitted to the chevy SS, that way you will always have cold air going in and make at least 30 to 50 HP extra just for allowing the air/fuel ratios to be tuned correctly with more air going in . :)
how does the tune get done? I'm not much of a mechanic and making the changes re the cold air and tune combo makes me nervous regarding warranty and what happens if air/fuel ratios aren't tuned correctly. Thx.
@@teller1290 Vcm in Australia in Melbourne do the most common OTR intake and have engineers that have perfected the tuning and im sure if you were to talk to them they would give a heads up on how to tune the car
