  • In this video I am going to use the handmade mold of a whale from @intoresin . I decided to use one of their non-sinking glitters-the teal blue in color. after mixing my resin-Lets Resin 1:1 casting resin-4oz, I added 2 scoops of the glitter, which you will see in the video was to much, after the first de-mold the tail broke off and when I ran the filled mold through my vacuum chamber it foamed up from all the glitter and caused a lot of bubbles. I then re-casted the mold with the only one scoop of the glitter and it came out perfect, so less is more with this glitter.

I think youve got that wrong Mary. Higher viscosity is the thicker resin. You said the Casting resin was higher viscosity...and the regular epoxy was thicker.

Thank you so much for demonstrating this mold…it does seem flawed with both the injection site in the back as well as the seam that runs across the top.

It seems like all their molds come out with a gazillion bubbles just from watching videos I never used one of course...😮 anyway thank you for your efforts you're the best😊

Maybe you had a bait of a flash cure that caused the foam. Why can’t you put alcohol on home made molds? Maybe you could use a bit of soapy water to help get it out.

That glitter is so pretty. Both the whale and the snail turned out wonderful. I love the soft look of them.

Maybe it got too hot while it was in the chamber?

Could there be a micro hole in your mold? That would make the vacuum chamber cause foam.

Did the glitter reain in the cup in the first one foam too?

Correct me if Im wrong but aren’t you supposed to use the vacuum chamber before you put it into a mold? Or does it now matter. Every one I have sent were always done before. Im still really new with resin so still learning. Please let me know if it matters one way or the other.
