- Tighten the bike chain on an internal gear bike so that your chain doesn't drop off anymore. The same process will work on single speed or fixed gear bikes.

Great to hear that 😊
Really useful, thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you that was very helpful
You're welcome!
Thanks for your videos! I have the same shimano internal gear hub setup and watched your other video re: loose chain too. Bike won’t front pedal so I’m going to double check the front sprocket again...
Hope you will solve it
@@Homeneer it worked! My rear wheel misaligned after the first two test rides, so I made more adjustments and re-tightened the bolts. I also used your shifter adjustment video. Thanks again for helping me tune up my bike!
@@starmieee Great to hear that =)
Thanks!
You're welcome 🙂
Thanks, very clear- but remember , actually you tighten the nuts (one on each side ) not the bolt.
Thanks for the comment
Hey, so i was able to tighten the chain but now my bicycle wont shift anymore? Somehow the hub gear unit wont attach anymore 😕
2:22 this thing will always pop up when i try to shift now. Please help !!!
Btw i dont have a shimano hub gear so i feel lost bc theres no information on the internet :(
I've got the exact same Shimano inner hub system but with little adjusting screws on each side of the wheel and I'll get the tension in a good place but when going to highest gear number three it starts to slow down rapidly when pedalling as if it's under too much tension, like literally you push down and bike slows as if the breaks are on.
I don't understand these damn things.
Sorry I haven't encountered that issue and don't really have good ideas on what to check.
good video. I did not watch every second of it, but did you discuss the coaster brake arm?
What's the bike name? What is the skewer design called?
Very cool
Thanks ….. just a lot of bikes will need the lever for the back brake loosened before you can move the wheel 🙏
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Nice video, it’s how I tension mine too. But, on a side note, I was thinking I could put a simple chain tensioner. Would this work with this type of dropout & hub? I have the exact same, but on a different model bike.
I'm not sure about that. Do you need to tension the chain often? I don't need to do it often so don't quite see the value of adding a part.
@@Homeneer i’ve tensioned just once so far, 5 months after purchase. I need to do it again now & it’s been another 5 months. Don’t know, I was just thinking that a simple chain tensioner would make it simpler. Not needing to unscrew the bolts, center the wheel & take the shifter every time.
@@gordankovac Did you find a chain tensioner? If so, may i have a link? Thanks
When we tight the nut the cycle chain become loose again please tell me what to do
You need to pull the wheel back to tighten the chain. Then tighten the nuts as much as you can so that it will still allow straightening the wheel. Then fully tighten the nuts.
Please remember that the chain is supposed to have a little movement up and down. Too tight is not good.
Hello sir! I have a question, when a chain isn't tight can it come off the crank when you paddle hard
Sorry for the delay. Yes I think a loose chain will jump off the chainring easier for example in bumps. But also when shifting. Not sure does peddling hard cause it though
Thanks, but what about a chain tensioner?
This bike doesn't have one. I don't feel adding one ads value. Fixed it once and it has been fine ever since.
what causes the chain to become so loose?
Wear and stretching I think
@@Homeneer I thought of stretching too but some people suggested to me because of my extreme push for speed and uphill travel in my single speed bicycle, they suggested the rear tyre moved forward because of the extreme pull I force on the tyre.
It’s easier for me to loosen one side at a time to tighten the chain and easily see the wheel is still centered.
Good tip
Try finger but hole.
You are a hero
Thanks
