    Wow! Very Impressive Tutorials in this playlist. All aspects of PCB designs covered. Great work ji. Proud to learn from this site to enhance my knowledge on KiCad 7. Please can you do a much needed videos on explaining as many ERC errors and how to overcome these errors. Now that would conclude your addition to a truly comprehensive learnings. Look forward to more of your great videos on forthcoming KiCad upgrade too.

    Hello. 6.03, for me kicad7 does not show 3d model resistor, onle show footprint, in your case you see both - a footprint and a 3d_resistor model.... what did i wrong ?

    • @pcbcupid
      @pcbcupid  Год назад

      There are multiple reasons, it could be 3d files weren't installed during the KiCad installation process or it could be you have move the 3d files and folders else where. You can still manually assign them or you can just reinstall KiCad.

    i cant find slide switch footprint in the video in kicad 8.0 . what should i do?

  • @AuroraTheWoIf
    @AuroraTheWoIf 3 месяца назад +1

    The footprint you used for switch is not in my footprint library. I am using kicad 8.01
    Is it normal to not have some footprints in different versions?

    • @pcbcupid
      @pcbcupid  3 месяца назад

      Yes sometimes, but most of the time they will remain the same. Can you point out which footprint you are talking about?

    Very few of my footprints are showing up and following the directory it takes me straight to where they are but KiCad isn't recognizing them to open the files it seem.

    • @pcbcupid
      @pcbcupid  Год назад

      Was the footprint made with older version of KiCad?
      KiCad 7 doesn't support footprint that's built in KiCad version 5 or less.

      @@pcbcupid I downloaded kicad for the first time this past week and even the footprints that came with the download won't show. Basicallyi believe they should all be up to date. Seems like in some menus they do but I finished my schematic and they won't show there.

    • @lamboking8able
      @lamboking8able Год назад +1

      I figured it out. I think it needed to load some components and also you can't just right click the object you have to click a related component AND THEN right click to view the component.

    Bro I'm facing a problem in schematic editor
    When we go to assign footprints and then choose any footprint and go to 'view selected footprint' then there no footprint loads nor in the 3D also.
    I'm currently using version 8.0.1
    Please help

      Bro I also had the same problem...Just see if any component is selected before clicking 'view selected footprint'. First select the component then click on it.

    Is it possible to look for a particular footprint? eg, say I want to create a new transistor component that is not in the library, say T03 package, can I look to see if any other transistor has this footprint and then copy that for my new part? Thanks a lot

    • @pcbcupid
      @pcbcupid  Год назад

      Yes! You can assign different footprint to your new transistor. Under these condition : they have should have similar pinouts and same footprint dimensions.

    pls make video on how to smd led place in rounded manner

    • @pcbcupid
      @pcbcupid  Год назад

      You can do that by using circuit array.
      Select the footprint that you want in a circular manner and use the shortcut CTRL+T.
      This will open a pop up window. In this window make sure to select the circuit array tab.
      -> Set the horizontal distance from the footprint (Use the Global X and Y position on the bottom status bar)
      -> Set the Vertical distance from the footprint (Use the Global X and Y position on the bottom status bar)
      This values will setup the centre for your circular layout
      -> Set the angle for each generated footprint
      -> Set the number of footprint that needs to be generated
      -> Turn on rotate if you need the footprints to align with the circular layout
      Initially this might seem little difficult, but once you play around with the setting you will understand much better.
