We did it a few years ago. I was on an xr400 and we had a wr400, xr250 and the big boy, xr650. Not the best bike for that but we did it. If you take your time and think through your lines, spot each other when needed it's fun. Just plan on it being hard and it's a good time
I understand taking a challenge but bikes are recreational for the most part. Waddle walking a bike over areas where many people can't even walk isn't recreational to me. Thanks for the honest description/review.
Yep good description Jay. I recommend 4-6 guys in case things go south and they often do :). Always start by 10am and never go on a hot day as you have said - 65 degrees is perfect.
My first time at San Rafael Swell/ Chimney rock was just 2 months ago, amazing riding out there. Got to ride with some buddies that know the area like the back of their hand...they/ we could show y'all some really special places out there. Keep it up Jay!
Great perspective there Jay and I agree with all your comments. I am fortunate enough to live in UT so get to explore this stuff regularly and have done all those trails you've mentioned. IMO, the colored trails are more fun as they are not quite as hard and you do get breaks between the more gnarly stuff. Chimney Rock happens to be my favorite place in UT to ride and I've barely scratched the surface on it. Actually heading down there this coming weekend and hope to find some new stuff, should be a blast... Anyhow, love your channel!!
We did end up going out and it really is an enjoyable ride with the right group of guys. Send Spence up here with that '19 300 and he can do the "to hell and back" challenge with us.
Joseph Lopez do red trail, waterfall, devils racetrack, and orange. Red is almost as difficult as 5 moh, just more rest in between obstacles but super fun and technical!
Your dead right the GoPro never does the terrain justice. Have you guys ever thought about running one of those little drones that just follow you. Not sure if it would be better forage or not. Just wondering. I hate showing people some footage of something real difficult or real big and their reaction is “ really? That doesn’t look that big or hard!”
I love riding difficult terrain but I do not like destroying my bikes doing so, Rocks destroy bikes, If I was sponsored and given bikes to destroy, then YES I would have a blast, but nothing fun about hammering my beautiful bikes. I be damn if I be making payments on bikes that look hammered. its much easier making payments on bikes that look new. LOL
Jay. Totally agree. I enjoy the other areas around there more than the 5MOH area. White Wash/Chimney Rock are some of my favorites.

In regards to getting lost: use the trailforks app. It will show you where you are in relation to the trail. 5MOH is on there.

Awesome-- Have fun - -we hope to get up there some this Spring. Chimney Rock is starting to be a favorite since so few people ride there.
Hahaha perfect description Jay! That's exactly how I felt and you guys are much better than I...

Not sure I will ever do it again with my injuries - -too much dabbing but Spencer maybe
I'm heading out to green river the first week of May. What trails would you recommend in that area? I'm 50/50 on doing 5 moh. I've never done it.

Well done video!

Totally agree! I'm taking my drone in the spring for that reason!
Dude, stop blowing up the good spots. Hahaha
I don't like bashing my bikes on rocks but I'd ride someone else's there if they would let me .
Build the wall 👍

They only hurt the bike if you slam it on the rocks. If you take your time it's not a problem. I did 5MOH last fall and I didn't drop it once.
Looks no fun.
