  • This is an abridged version of the Advanced Level live class from 4-18-2021. We learned about the grammar form ~아/어/etc. 다가, which is used to show that two actions happen in two different locations. We also learned about the form ~ㅆ다가, which is used to show that an second action happens after the first action completes.

That "I'll be back" is translated as "다시올께" in Korean is really funny. You rock!!

This is perfect. Was using KGIU and had a question example using "-갔다가 울까?" and this comment helped lol

I was gonna skip this lesson because I'm up to my ears in '~다가' grammar forms but I'm glad I didn't. '아이들을 학교에 데려다 줬어요. ' *NOW* I understand where that '다' in 데려다 comes from!! 데려다가!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I was actually really curious about this! In a podcast I am listening to, the speaker says "이런 우훌한 기분을 없애기 위해 어떻게 해야 할까 생각을 하다가 며칠 전에 마트에 가서 달달한 음식을 좀 사 왔어요". In this case the two actions obviously happened in two different occasions so I wouldn't say she was meaning "While I was thinking... I went to the market" but rather that she meant that she was thinking of how to get rid of this gloomy feeling and then she transferred this "thinking of how to get rid of" action to the super market. Is this correct? Would a possible translation be "A few days ago I was thinking of what I had to do to get rid of this unpleasant feeling SO (implying: in order to complete the action of getting rid of the feeling) I went to the supermarket and I bought some sweet food." ? Would it be correct? Can anyone help me?
