- Convicted murderer and ex-cop Derek Chauvin spent his first full day in prison after the jury took less than eleven hours to deliberate their verdict. He is on suicide watch, and being held in an isolation cell like this one in the administrative control unit of the Oak Park Heights maxim security prison 25 miles from Minneapolis. The prison is said to be escape-proof, and was featured in an episode of "Lockdown." Segregated prisoners like Chauvin are allowed outside for just one hour a day. #InsideEdition

I used to work at the TDCJ Michael unit in Texas. The inmates there figured out you could get out of their cells with toilet paper and a popsicle stick. You stuff toilet paper inside the lock so the hook won't come all the way down. Then all you have to do is stick the popsicle stick in between door and the frame and pull up on the hook and the door pops right open. If the door isn't latched good it'll show a red light on the control panel and the guards will check the door..... well at least some of the guards will check the door .

And if you watch the video it's clear that Derek knew EXACTLY what he was doing and was given every chance to ease up. He is a murder plain and simple.
It is sad. If floyd hadn't resisted arrest in the first place derek wouldn't of been called to help. So much could of been avoided

I know he had a better breakfast than me this morning. As for bread and water in prison. They used to do that in UK prisons for punishment. They would put you on bread and water for a couple of days to a week depending on what you done. But they stopped it years ago as it’s a breach of EU human rights.

All he had to do was use common sense. The person in his custody was unconscious without a pulse, he was the most senior officer in charge there so even attempting to give George some aid while ems showed up could've saved him from a guilty verdict. But no he HAD to show the civilians he not only IS the law but ABOVE it as well. He was flexing his qualified immunity which is why he was surprised he got a guilty verdict. Probably not his first scare in court either since he has had almost 20 other complaints for excessive use of force. He got too used to getting away with it.
