Salvatore Simone, would you mind if I share my own Dark Halls remake here ? It's kinda connect to your own approach of choosing a non-metal orientation for your remake.
Very well done, really captures that old soft industrial sound I miss from late 90s and 00 games Doom, starcraft and tiberian sun / ra2 have some of my favorite tracks
Congratulations, I've heard this awesome track multiple times in the mod for Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines called Clan Quest mod. Phew, that was a whole line to spew.
@@themaniacboy I'm so happy to hear! I'd love to see more of the mod, but I've never played. Here's the track, it looks like old DL links were down. drive.google.com/file/d/1NYrQdVLnbHo94R5_jTQzeV89eZgYNt5M/view?usp=drivesdk
@@swsiii Thanks for the link. If you ever decide to do another remake of a Doom track I want to make sure that I get notified, so you just earned yourself a new subscriber.
Thanks! Haven't heard that soundtrack in years until you mentioned it. There is an uncompressed version released that is phenomenal. So much nostalgia. :)
I've always loved this track just for its atmosphere. There's really not much going on. A very simple tune that also uses a very simple 12 bar blues riff. Yet it's still so awesome to listen to. I guess it's how the synth pad uses 7th and diminished chords that makes the track what it is. I mean from my recollection the first bar in the 12 bar riff (it's actually more like 24 bars but the point is the same) spells out a Eb7 which switches to a Cdim/Eb, the bass being a pedal point all the way through. The 10th bar then ends on a satisfying Eb major chord, before bars 11 and 12 switch it up by replacing the Cdim/Eb with an Abmaj7 chord (the pad still has Cdim but the bass quickly goes to Ab). Really cool. Anyway, this remix was fantastic. It takes the atmosphere and turns it up to 11. Great job! EDIT: I recently realised that while it does more or less conform to the 12 bar blues riff structure, it actually only consists of 22 bars, not 24. So that was a minor mistake from my side.
Very impressive remix ! on of the best I ve heard on the internet - I think Bobby Prince excepted a modern retake of Dark Halls to be like this, especially with his inspirations from John Carpenter's soundtracks.
The Litany of the Litany's Litany limps through the warp after narrowly surviving an attack by a Tzeentch chapter of the Dark Mechanicum. As the Mechanicus operatives inside assess the damage, an alarm goes off. A technician approaches them with the report. "The gellar field is down, sir". The team rushes to the field generator as the lights go out. The ship rumbles. " *THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED* " screams the PA. As snarls begin to sound from the darkness, the agents come to the realization that they are armed with only their laspistols. Edit: This is incomplete, I need to see how it plays out

I know I'm late to the party but this is absolutely spot on! I don't suppose you have a working link so I can have this play in one of the more modern Doom engines pretty please?
This scratches the itch that all the 'metal' remakes could not. The drop is amazing, really well done!
Thanks! You're right. As much as I love metal, it's just not a good fit for the piece.

Awesome! I had no idea it was used for that, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊

Really loving this, it has almost a Massive Attack kind of vibe to it. Great work! Would be awesome to hear a similar spin put on something like E2M2.
That radio chatter at the start, that's what it feels like when playing co-op on Nightmare.

I really like this version. It sounds like Doom met Goldeneye. In other words, this track reminds me of Goldeneye 64 haha, especially at 1:43

Amazing track Bro. Ma qué cosa!!!!!! 😍
Thank you!
It's like if Doom's soundtrack was remixed as a song in Manhunt. It sounds really cool!
That ugly snare grows on you. Awesome cover.
Thank you! Admittedly, that choice was a bit inspired by horror movie sound design.
Flawless
percussions got a nice beat to it tho, even for a more ambient track in a game like this
