A detail I always liked about this track is that the muted guitar switched between playing a minor third and a major third. It kinda makes it difficult to tell whether this piece is in minor or major as the entire thing modulates. It's probably not that important either.

I remember making a Quarry inspired level some time ago with "Between Levels" being the MiDi. Unfortunately, the level was just a flat mess with vine textures connecting to wood barriers that just blocked your vision while revenant missiles and chaingunners screwed you up :D
