- The tallest man in the United States has died. Igor Vovkovinskiy passed away from heart disease, according to his mother. At seven feet, eight and a third inches, Igor was certified by Guinness World Records as the tallest man in the U.S. in 2010. He came to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota from Ukraine in 1989. A tumor pressing against his pituitary gland caused it to secrete excessive amounts of growth hormone. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

Just FYI Robert Wadlow the tallest man ever recorded standing 8'11", lived only up to 22 years old. Although this kid died young he outlived Wadlow by 16 years.

That's sad. I've been rooting for Igor since I first heard of his story. He even had his own RUclips channel. He suffered from many physical ailments due to his immense size. However, he did receive a lot of help along the way because people really felt for him. Unfortunately, he only made it to 38. RIP, big man. 😥
