I actually think you make a 100% valid point here, alton towers is a family park at the end of the day, its weird they themed it to such a dark theme! Wickerman is still in my top 3 mostly because of that theme, but i can imagine it not being inviting at all for the younger generation of theme park goers!

Everyone says the ride is incredible but it’s an average wooden family coaster. It’s probably because in the UK the only decent woodie we have is in wales so no one has ridden it, therefore people have this as their only woodie think it’s insane, but once you’ve ridden other woodies it is very basic

I never really like Alton Towers had a night stay 2 days of park entry in 2022 and visited the park 3 times in 2023 I don't enjoy Nemesis with the Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park being a lot more intense I don't like Smiler at all it's just inversion after inversion there's nothing good about it other than it holding a world record for the most inversions which makes it a bad coaster I have ridden worlds best coasters and all coasters at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park so I know what I'm talking about so Alton Towers their coasters aren't that intense while Thorpe Park has 5 thrilling coasters and they all are more intense than all the rides at Alton Towers.
Thorpe Park has good flats and Alton Towers they currently only got the blade as they took out those funfair rides. I find myself bored at times of how boring the nature of the park is it's a massive park with not much rides they got so much space for new investments and the investment they make is retracking that's a terrible idea it's still the same ride they could have got a new coaster built there they could easily start digging up after making plans for a new coaster and make it happen that would be a better choice than switching out tracks.
I am an merlin passholder and I don't like Alton Towers and the hosts working on the rides don't look too happy and they aren't friendly as well while the ride hosts at Thorpe Park are joking about laughing etc they always put a smile on my face with their jokes. Alton Towers just needs better flats and more intense coasters unless if their focus is on family rides.
