Please don't add me to the blocked list but that couch has got to go. Your space is so beautiful and that couch is just too cumbersome and drab for that amazing apartment. I think finding a less bulky couch would make the space feel so much better for you. I think we can all tell you are trying your best to love it but its just not working. Congratulations on your amazing new home though!
I have also made the mistake of the sectional.. they are so hard to decorate around. I had to sell mine. I agree with @gunnarlach6139, sell the sofa. Also- I would not mount your TV on the wall facing the island. I would buy and place a smaller sofa where the TV is today and then put a console or even a larger piece of furniture on the wall to the right of the nice window seat area. Create a little room with a rug anchoring the space and another chair facing the windows. If you mount the TV in that center spot, I am afraid you will lose any area for storage and everyone can use more storage. Good luck.. you've got this!
I think your sofa is too big for your condo. Something smaller with a comfy chair would look better.

Just an idea ✨ hire an electrician to create an additional outlet behind your tv mount. It will keep all the cords tucked away and give you space under the TV to do whatever you want with it!
Professional interior design assistance should be helpful for couch/TV situation. The couch style and shape doesn't work for the space and design of your beautiful home.
I love the space, I think the problem is the couch, it's like too ''square'' for the space❤
Interior designer here, the couch does not belong on that wall! You should think about another couch from love sac! Because the tv and stand should be on that wall
Thanks for sharing about your colonoscopy. A friend of a friend of mine just passed away in her 30s of stage 4 colon cancer. It’s great for you to tell younger people to have awareness of this and be proactive about their health, especially when it comes to procedures that can be a little embarrassing for people to talk about maybe.. so thank you ❤
I wouldn’t put the TV up yet until you try out the angles with the couch, etc for a bit. You might completely change your mind
I don’t love the couch by the wall. I think the couch and the table should switch spots!
i think the piece in the middle of the couch that fills it in would be better to remove so its just a L shape. It will help the couch fill the space. Dont get get rid of it even if you buy a smaller couch you cant do anything else with the "extra" room, the couch space is always needed.

When it comes to your health never take it for granted because it’s better to stay on top of any issues. I think is great that you are on it and making sure everything is ok. ❤
I fear *sigh* the couch might not be the right fit for the apartment... Maybe just maybe if you exchange the piece that's next to the window for like just the ottoman piece with no back it might fit a little better and look more open? If you even can I know you said it only goes together certain ways

I think the layout you’ve planned is good! It’s an odd shaped room so that makes the best of the space. I think it’ll look good like that!
You should pull your couch a little bit away from the wall
And if you want, you can put a sofa table back there with a lamp, regardless, pull it away from the wall❤

Get the swivel mount and get an electrician to move outlet to like 5/6ft up on the wall.

Suggestion: When you pulled your chair out from the dining table it seemed to be rubbing/scraping the floor. They sell felt tabs that you can stick to the bottom of your chair which protect your floors in the long run.

You know what would look really good by your table between those two windows? A bar cart. Maybe a nice size one you could mildly decorate during holidays but functional. Anyways, just an idea. Everything is looking great. Good enough is good enough 🥰
I think you should invest in a decorator to help you. You spent too much money on the condo to not have it look amazing.
Yess! I had a colonoscopy at 28 due to IBS I need to do a followup on but it’s not that bad ! And I did feel skinny after 😂 but it’s great to bring awareness especially since it’s scary that so many young people are getting colon cancer

The dining table and chairs are so beautiful ❤but the sofa on the wall is not the move i think 🥹 i think mounting your tv on that wall could help but i fear we need a smaller and more chic couch that can float in the middle of the room. Then the left side is ur dining area and the right side could be a reading nook or bookshelf space
I’m so glad you were able to get the colonoscopy - so many doctors refuse to do it when you’re younger, which isn’t right, especially with how colon cancer rates are rising in younger people.
Side note, I do wonder if even one less section of the couch would make it fit better in the space?

can you move the pieces so you fave the view? like long side against the wall, short section back to the door parallel with the counter? then you can see the tv without a swivel, enjoy the view & add an entryway table behind the couch to form an entry way?

Just a suggestion! If there is space you could put the couch in front of where the tv is & have the dining table where the couch currently is.
Maybe you can mount the tv on the other wall that is facing the couch directly & it would be right next to the kitchen island too, hope that helps x

I suffer from a physician significant other, (you may be having the same experience haha) but not health anxiety. He's had me go to the doctor for several things that turned out to be nothing but the last one actually turned out to be cancer. Doesn't sound like health anxiety to me, like you said. Preventative is better than reactive!
I’m glad the colonoscopy came back clear! I recently was experiencing some GI issues, they looked at my gallbladder becomes gallstones run in my family. That was clear but I decided to go on a gluten free diet for a week to see if that did anything. I wasn’t having really bad symptoms all the time, basically I was incredibly bloated all the time and didn’t even realize it, I just assumed it was more fat. And I had really bad vomiting episodes a few times in the last year. Well after a week of not eating gluten, my bloat was gone! I was shocked! And so that makes me wonder if my vomiting episodes were also caused by gluten. Just wanted to share my experience!

lol I'm 28 and had my first colonoscopy last week. I was so embarrassed about the whole process and about my age. Thankfully mine was all clear as well...but I still struggle with GI issues. It's true and scary that colon cancer is getting more common in younger people. I wonder if it's from all the additives we eat in our food...seems like every other person I know has stomach issues. Hi Brooke! I have always wondered with the furniture assembly, why your bf won’t put it together so you could save money on task rabbit?! I swear guys are so good at this kind of stuf!
Hopefully your results come back positive with no findings!! This would be a relief but can also be frustrating not having answers. I would recommend seeing a Dietitian Nutritionist or naturopathic that specialized in gut health. Take a GI Map test and this will help pin point what might be going on in your gut to help find a resolution.

Don’t listen to the couch haters. Sometime you need to prioritize comfort over a touch of style. Especially in a small space

I would like to take a moment to defend the couch. I see a lot of comments saying it has to go but I disagree. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right layout for your space and I think even if she got a smaller couch, she’d still have to play with the layout. In the end it’s gonna come together!
It’s a gorgeous space you should be so proud! 🫶🏽🩷 Ok hear me out… smaller couch if not I get it you just invested in it so another idea get rid of the console and put your TV on an easel! It could be so chic it serves as a more seamless space divider and can make the space feel more open and fluid!
I had a Trader Joe’s employee tell me the absolute best time to go is about an hour before they close. That’s when they finish restocking everything for the day, and not that many people are shopping.
