*if you're reading this, *DONT ruin a vinyl record that's in good condition, and especially one with the cover also in nice condition. Ask around for ones without covers that no one wants. A lot of records will NEVER be made again, it's like taking a Greek or Egyptian artifact and making loafers from them.
I make things out of records but take a little more time and effort to find ones being sold for decorative use only! They no longer have good playing quality so its good to repurpose them into something cool! I am also a singer so maybe that is why I am more bothered about it hahaha
@@TheLabOtomy lol! Sounds funny 😆! When I saw you folding the records w/ suck crisp lines, I thought, “this is like paper art!” And immediately a specific shoulder bag popped into my brain! I think it will be awesome, very rock a Billy/punk.
Beautiful clock. Really struggling to find right size clock mechanism. Could you recommend a good website please? So far I have ordered 3 different sets from Amazon and each one either the hands swung around after fitting, the central prong was too short or the hands were too short.
Hi! i have been getting more into crafts lately and wanted to do something like the decorative chair you did. I was searching for used vinil records but can't seem to find any. Is there an app or a site that you can recommend? I see you have answered many comments so I thought it was worth a try! ☺️
More aesthetic than 100% useful to be frank (top vinyl layer is susceptible to scratches, like caused by a pocket rivet). Made 2, sold 2. Happier to have gotten rid of 20+ vinyl records in the process...
Really love the bird house idea! I made a few bird houses from old, non-vegan cookbooks that turned out great. This is another way to use stuff that would otherwise be thrown away to rot. Thanks!
I've still got my dad's collection of ancient records, some of them still 78s (which are thicker, harder and don't bend). I was thinking of using some of the records as table placemats. Might be a good idea to finish them with a few layers of spray lacquer.
What I saw you make wasn't cost-effective, what with the price of electricity any tool that gets hot uses lots of power. Has to be something with a higher value, but we're on the right track !
Just because records get older, they don’t increase in value. I have records from 1912, they aren’t even worth $1.00. I have many Victor Red Seal record from the early 1900’s, and they are single sided. They cost $2.00 when they were new. The price iss on the label itself. They are worth less than that 100 years later. I keep them because it’s a piece of history. And they still play perfectly fine.

Of course...
A trick : watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Decker Raul yea, I've been watching on flixzone for years myself :D
I paint mine irregardless
Yeah that makes sense, have a load of records, gonna chose which stays and which gets slaughtered cheers
As much it hurts to watch this as a record collector, it is surprisingly nice

Hey bro I have over 408 vinyl records
The birdhouse actually has inspired me to make a fashion accessory! Thank you so much!
Birdhouse meets fashion accessory... nice!

@@GuardianAngelWatcher Already sounds good!

Steady / dusty free underground + vinyl layout + protective / levelling coating

My place of choice is the thrift shop, I can see / feel / estimate on the spot
I can't believe it can be this good

Have you tried thrift shops? There are literally 1000s at my local one...
Genius.
Yes !
Indeed!
I was recently thinking about recycling hundreds of these. But I have a heat gun, so might as well make something.
Nice, be creative!
the bird box is very cool
Thx
What your did you use?
This doesnt even make sense
glue name?
Construction adhesive
Thanks, Neat Ideas.
Thanks for watching!
What did you use to cut the vinyl records?
My homemade hot knife. See ruclips.net/video/P_dnOGOih4E/видео.html
Plaklara nasıl, nereden ulaşıyorsunuz? Fiyatları nedir?
# 3 is awesome
Surely is! Although cannot remember what it was (and cant be bothered checking)
Am i the only one who never used a Phonestand line this ?😂😂😂 I allways have to think at this when i see such diy shit 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
The black vinyl would get so hot in the sun it would roast the chicks to death
Muito bom!!! Parabéns!
The chair!

I started make art with old records during the pandemic. looking for other ideas. love these!
Nice!
Heating vinyl releases pretty toxic fumes, be careful.
HI!!! Greetings from Germany!!!
Appreciated, greetings back!
Hmm, toxic to put food in contact...wouldn't that make it toxic for birds? And how do you clean it every year? Oh and how to bake the eggs!

Thanks for sharing
But there is a huge problem records do melt in the sun
great ideas and great video .... but the music is unnecessary, much better just with the work noises!
als je de muziek die op de platen had gestaan had beluisterd had je iets van je eigen geschiedenis en cultuur geweten.
Very cool!!🥰🤗
Curious to the brand of heat knife you used?
This was custom made actually, see ruclips.net/video/P_dnOGOih4E/видео.html
This is akin to making coffee tables out of old pinball machines. It’s just not right …
Seriously impressed
vogelhäuschen 👍
Well...... The song was cool
He wears gloves to use a blow dryer but not for using glue...and a saw
Hmm Interesting .. and ALL Crap I'd Never do ........ ;) ......... Bird house is really Interesting though ..

Nice idea of reuse! And a few layers of spray lacquer can definitly help to protect the vinyl against scratches, good luck!
I'd check the value before gettin into craft day😜
U could roof a house with them
Anything to get rid of them works for me, thanks for sharing!

That hurts because I have more than 10,000 records
I feel you
@@TheLabOtomy yup I'm a kid that also loves speakers but the most I love records just feels illegal to watch that
Dam u you just destroyed old Yugoslavian record 3:18
Ooops
The bird house could poison them
Pvc pipes and arts i guess......
Wow how clever you are 🙄

Srry but that is useless vinyl records are like vine, older they get much more money they will cost and those are classic not like today:/
I see
Why does it never occur to people like you, that if we're doing this to a record it's because we simply don't care?

@@01chippe not everything is about money 🙁
@@vuksamotnjak03 You are the one that said the older a record gets, the more it is worth. I was saying that isn’t true.

It was so appalling that I just had to keep on watching. What a waste of life.
Nice!
Well that was twelve an a half minutes of my life wasted............
Nobody forced you to watch...
