Lauren, for MTHFR -- Cymbiotika liposomal B vitamins are methylated & that's what I take! Also, you just have to be really careful if you ever went plant based, because you can't absorb a good amount of plant B vitamins and it would be easy to get depleted quickly.

I don't know a ton about MTHFR gene, but in a past video when you mentioned that you basically have allergies every day since you got a spider bite when you were a kid, I wondered if that was why, because it can cause an overactive immune response, among many other things of course. I am wondering if I also have it so please keep sharing your journey with it! Good luck!
Lo should consider going to a Functional Medicine Dr. that kind of practitioner will be able to get to the bottom of her issues. Taking antihistamines daily, year after year will cause health repercussions, especially to the adrenal glands.

I recently found out I have this mutation! I have learned a lot from my doctor and she gave me comfort by just knowing this information will help you figure out the best way to treat your body. I went gluten free, dairy free sugar free for about 6 months and didn’t see a huge difference. I started the methfoylate as well, which has helped with mood. I have bad anxiety for a couple years that’s how I found out about this mutation when medication wasn’t helping me. I did genesight testing to see what medications work with my body, with the mutation most don’t in my case, but have a few to try and it’s recommended to take the methfoylate with it. I think it’s learning what works best for you and give yourself grace. It’s definitely a journey and I know I wanted an easy fix. Thanks for sharing this! Good luck in all your research, I’m still figuring it out myself.

I have MTHFR too! Two copies of C677T so I take methyl-folate. I literally loathe running, btw ❤ gotta get comfortable with being uncomfortable 😂 but seriously, I love your guys’ lives 😊
Okay, there are two different types of the mutation, but it’s not as big of a deal as once thought. The fix really is taking folic acid, but! Take it in the methylated form, it’s less work for your body. It’s genetic, so in my case, I got a bad copy from my mom AND my dad. It can contribute to neural tube defects, migraines, and can increase your risk of clotting, so avoid estrogen birth-control, don’t smoke, and take your vitamins 😊 mine was found when I was 16 because I was on hormonal bc and had a migraine with aura, so my dr thought I had a stroke and sent me to a hematologist for all sorts of obscure tests. Most of the population has some variation of the mutation, so just work with your dr, find one you trust, and take all these comments with a grain of salt. Everyone’s experience is individual!

It’s very important to listen to what this person is saying!! It is also important to talk with your doctor to see if it is wise for you to take a low dose aspirin every day due to the risk of increased blood clotting. Please, if considering a pregnancy, PLEASE see an OB endocrinologist! Learn everything you can about MTHFR and treat your body the best you can to prevent any complications from it. Know that it is genetic and it will be important someday to share this with your daughters. Best wishes for you and your family, Lauren.

The book “Dirty Genes” was recommended to me when I was told I had MTHFR. I started reading it, and so far it’s been really good! The book talks about the different mutated genes and the lifestyle changes that help people with these specific mutated genes. 😊
The carnival's spread out setup was so nice to see. I'm used to seeing everything squished together on pavement. The Thai lettuce wraps are so yummy! Lol, funny memory popped in my mind-When I was younger and meaner, i told my bff wasabi was cucumber pate. I knew she was a lover of all things cucumber! You probably know the rest of the story. Tears, nose burning and not enough water and bread to take away the pain or taste. We're still bffs but she won't try anything i suggest. Food or activity.

MTHFR gene! I have my bachelors in dietetics and am currently in grad school and we spent a significant amount of time talking about it
I also have the gene mutation that you were talking about. I take a methylated folate supplement twice a day. The thing to look out for is folic acid, you should definitely start reading ingredient lists if you are not already and avoid it if you find it in certain processed foods. One food that I was using that I had to shift was nutritional yeast. Many brands have folic acid added as a supplement. I was able to find a brand that did not have the folic acid. In general it's best to not eat too many processed foods but that's where you'll find folic acid lurking and where you have to watch out. Eating like this for about 12 years now and it's made a huge difference in my mental clarity and overall moods. I also heard it's really good for immune-boosting. Felt like finding a missing piece to a puzzle.
What kind of testing did you get in order to find out that you have this mutated gene? And what were your symptoms that even made you go get tested for this? I am sure my Dr. will ask me about this before just going & testing for this, that's why I wanna know. And did insurance cover it? And if not, how much was the test?
I am so glad you mentioned about the nutritional yeast. I use a LOT of it thinking it's so good for me! Who knew!? What brand did you find that doesn't add the folate in it? I know that Brewer's Yeast doesn't add vitamins to it, that they are innately part of it, but I don't know if that includes folate or not?

@@CherylBerryl I was fortunate that my identical twin sister found out about the gene mutation through her natural path doctor. This was about twelve years ago and we live in Maine. My sister's doctor referred her to a lab that did the test very affordably. I'm not sure what it's like now but I would suggest you look around for a reasonably priced lab. I'm pretty sure you'll need a referral from your Dr.
@@CherylBerryl my twin sister had been dealing with Lyme disease and her doctor was trying to find out why she was so resistant to any of the treatments. Ultimately that's how she figured out that her immune system was being affected by the gene mutation. Personally I had been dealing with some arthritis and asthma, both got noticeably better once I started taking the methylated folate supplement twice a day. I now am able to manage my asthma pretty easily and my arthritis is virtually nonexistent.

I am also 62 and living with IBS for the last 12 years. I started taking probiotic gummies 4 mo ths ago and I can tell you it definitely helps so much. The IBS isn't gone but it's about 90% better

Hey Lo sorry about your stomach issues I have diverticulitis it has to do with pain in my lower intestines and it’s pretty painful I have flare ups from it especially when stress levels are high I’m getting ready to start a probiotic so that may help some I’m hoping and also trying folic acid as well that my doc has suggested as well I definitely need to increase my exercises as well thank you for sharing about what you are going through I know you do not want others to go through these conditions as well if it can be helped in some ways glad the girls are doing well and had fun at the amusement park and to Sarah Happy Birthday 🎉🎂 keep your videos a coming love you guys ❤❤❤❤
