Fun story about losing bots as a kid: me and my brother were so traumatized by the death of Optimus Prime when we watched the movie for the first time (aged 6 and 10 respectively) that we took his Optimus model and buried it in the garden. It took a few days for our parents to notice it was gone, and it has never actually been found. So now there's a random original first run Hasbro Optimus Prime somewhere under a flower bed, waiting to confuse future archaeologists....
'The Muppet Christmas Carol' is the single best adaptation of any of Dickens' work. Not my words, the words of my Victorian Literature professor at Uni. He wasn't wrong then and he's still right now. Apart from that I'd say 'Tokyo Godfathers', 'It's a Wonderful Life', and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' for me.
Hands down BEST Holiday Yule Musical Movie is THE CHRISTMAS THAT ALMOST WASNT. With Rossano Brazini. Soooo much happy and good! A MUST SEE FOR YOU THEW!
Thew acting like we don't like a good Dammit Open. 😂 Mate, I'd watch you review a single figure and repaints of such following for days (oh, hello Siege Starscream mold). You're always entertaining!
Always great to see a fellow fan of the Throttlebots. Really would love to see the rest of the team gets some love in the Legacy line. Same with the Omnibots.
My favorite Christmas movie is "emmet the otter's jug band christmas". If you like the muppets christmas specials it'll probably give similar vibes of overwhelming joy. Its just the cutest damn thing ever to be made into film
Goldbug is one of my faves due to the Marvel comics, was so happy to get a modern figure of him. Still have my G1 toy of him as well! I still hope some enterprising 3rd party does some nice MP scale Throttlebots including the golden boy himself. I appreciate the engineering and aesthetic that goes into MP figures but I agree they're just too damn complicated to be fun to play with. They make incredible display pieces though. Fave Christmas film: Muppet Christmas Carol, but I also unironically love the original Miracle on 34th Street.
I like the original Grinch or Pinky and the Brain Christmas! :D Edit: yeah im with you on the overly complex figures. I like simple but enjoyable. That said, some mainline figures have some neat tricks, and I dig that
12:22 Thew, DX9 Salmoore is based on either Renegade Rhetoric or IDW Megatron Origin, and the figure turns into a semi-realistic Harley Davidson, it's quite unconventional, but it would be a worthy addition to your collection.
Will look forward to the big crimbo review in the new year & I do certainly hope that you are feeling better Also, I do love The Muppets Christmas Carol but I don't have it on record on the TV, it isn't on any TV channel that I know of, I don't have a working DVD Player or a Blu-Ray Player of any kind (not that I have a DVD/Blu-Ray of it) & I don't have D+ so big sad for me not being able to watch it. Also also, the KFC Cy-Kill is a retool of their Wreck-Gar they released a few years back
I feel ya man. I was meant to do so much this week but got ill on Tuesday and had very little energy to do much. I did get some Christmas videos filmed this morning for my channel, including a special thank you to the nearly 300 subscribers I have, which I never imagined I'd have 2 years into the channel, lol. Merry Crimbot to you!
Merry Crimbo, Thew! How you get a Skywarp you don't have yet, if there even is one at this point. EDIT: That Blackarachnia isn't just very heavily toy focused, but based on her original card art! Right down to the leopard patterned ta-tas.
Favourite Christmas Movie - Arthur Christmas. Gijinka is the term when you turn something into an Anime Waifu. That guy in the mask reminds me of Grifter. APC Toys - I have Night Countess and their Angel Engine, been so busy that they are still in their boxes. I think that Arachnia is from one of the quad-packs, based on her toy deco.
Since you love Goldbug from childhood as much as me you should know the secret... Flip his backpack upside down for cartoon accuracy and maximum hoodie effect.
"Rad as all dads" has wormed it's way into my everyday vernacular and nobody ever understands that it's a Thew reference and they look at me like I'm insane.
I'm also quite fond of A Muppet Christmas Carol. I've got plenty of nostalgia for the Rankin Bass stop motion specials, but nothing comes close to A Muppet Christmas Carol.
Thank Thew! Just made my day. Stressful day of work but now I have this to look forward to when I get home. Ontop of some fresh deliveries from BBTS! Happy holidays man thanks for all you do!
Hi Thew You're welcome for the chocolate and I'm happy you enjoyed the penguin. I hope you have a great Christmas and if you want anything else, please give me a shout Take care mate and have a happy new year.
The character you couldn't recognise on the little poster for Transformers Aliance is apparently Wreckgar. The other one says Gray Shard. Or so the Japanese says. Merry Christmas Thew! Thanks for all the laughs this year!
Fun video! Thank you! And yes, you DO deserve all this. I can't even begin to begin to put into words how your videos helped lift me out of a VERY bad place back in 2014, and how that helped me get on with my life. (And I'm a veritable ambulatory lexicon, renowned for my sesquipedalian magniloquence and lexiphanicism.) Multiply that amount of good karma by the tens of thousands of subscribers and HUNDREDS of thousands of viewers your videos bring joy to, and I'd say you've only begun to reap the kind of rewards that you deserve for your work. As for your Christmas film question: "Muppets Christmas Carol" is probably my favourite Christmas movie, too. When it comes to holiday specials, though, NOTHING beats "Bernard and the Genie," and I'm sad that it doesn't get more exposure. But then there's "Love, Actually," and we had so many people telling us we'd love it, because I'm English and my wife's American. Their skulls now decorate our garden path.
That elite guard Optimus is one of the rarest transformers animated releases. Nemesis Prime was much more rare at 300 limited world wide. But I know elite guard Optimus was under 1000 pieces ever produced
Hi @ToyGrind I just wanted to wish you an yours a merry Xmas, an just say thank you for your videos, I have you to thank for reigniting my love of these transforming bad boys, I'm a 35yr old man who in 2019 my wife passed away and I lost alot of my collecting interest as I couldn't focused on anything really, but I stumbled upon your channel after reaching the 07 live action movie an wanted to see what the figures were like an although my collection is small for transformers seeing your passion reignited my collecting passion weather that's batman, wrestling or transformers, so thank you for you do sir, I hope 2023 is the best yet!!!
With all the Primes and the Megatrons and yatta yatta, my favorite TF may be Hoist because his design to me just screams "I'm here too!" and I think that's hilarious.
My anime Die Hard is Gundam Wing Endless Waltz which takes place on Christmas. I'm always a sucker for Christmas TV episodes, I do love Die Hard, but I have to say The Holiday is probably my favorite Christmas movie and I have my mom to thank (also my love of Jack Black movies).
2015 Krampus is the top of the Christmas list each year. The Weta workshop special effects and creatures, Adam Scott and directed by Trick or Treat Dougherty
Late to the party Thew but you were close on that Muppet Christmas...but the best Jim Henson Christmas film is Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas. As a musician you will love it! Happy New Year you Sexy British Bloke!
Fun story about losing bots as a kid: me and my brother were so traumatized by the death of Optimus Prime when we watched the movie for the first time (aged 6 and 10 respectively) that we took his Optimus model and buried it in the garden. Optimus in a flowerbed
What an image
When you said 'The Adams family just welcomed in a new child' I had to work out if you meant you, the other Adam, or the Addams
The Adams Family (not that one)
The Maccadams Family.
"Cycle-Killer, qu'est-ce que c'est?"
Love it!
My wife gifted Tonkanator to me early
Didn’t know this silly collab existed
It’s silly and awesome
Hope everyone watching gets such a surprise
my parents got astrotrain as a gift for me they just don't know i know (i saw them order it via amazon)
The launchers in the Tonkanator set have no springs, but the now-vestigial triggers are still there. I am disappoint.
Thew is incredibly based with the muppets Christmas carol appreciation
'The Muppet Christmas Carol' is the single best adaptation of any of Dickens' work. Not my words, the words of my Victorian Literature professor at Uni. He wasn't wrong then and he's still right now.
Apart from that I'd say 'Tokyo Godfathers', 'It's a Wonderful Life', and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' for me.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...Clark's (Chevy Chase) rant at the end is epic and worth seeing every Christmas season :)
lol i just watched it yesterday with my dad he loves the movie
I have seen this movie SO MANY TIMES, i very much remember having to ask my mom what clark was doing in the car when he flipped the guy off.
Happy Crimbo, Thew!
Muppets Xmas carol is brilliant and "light the lamp not the rat" always gets me 😂
Hands down BEST Holiday Yule Musical Movie is THE CHRISTMAS THAT ALMOST WASNT. With Rossano Brazini. Soooo much happy and good! A MUST SEE FOR YOU THEW!
Best Christmas Movie? GREMLINS! lol
Seriously though, Mickey’s Christmas Carol
Here’s to a Merry Christmas, and a Happy THEW Year!!!
See ya in 2023!
Love the Chefatron roast 😂😂😂
Oh, the Millers always send nice stuff.
Thew acting like we don't like a good Dammit Open. 😂 Mate, I'd watch you review a single figure and repaints of such following for days (oh, hello Siege Starscream mold). You're always entertaining!
Just want you to know, Thew, that Pokémon Winds of Change will forever live rent free in my head.
Obviously the best Christmas movie is the finale of 0080 war in the pocket
Of course this gentleman of high quality taste knows what the best Christmas movie is!
Thew and his goldbugs
R.I.P. Goldbug 1
1986 - 1986
Santa's Slay or Gremlins are my Christmas movies I will watch.
Animated did the impossible engineer robot mode that can turn into both of their forms and look like the show. Some it was simple others not as much.
And cybertron I guess beciz they use the cad model
Always great to see a fellow fan of the Throttlebots. Really would love to see the rest of the team gets some love in the Legacy line. Same with the Omnibots.
There actually are plenty of fun 3rd party figures. They just often need you to remember the order of operations.
Iron Man 3 and Ghostbusters 2 are my 'xmas is happening in them' xmas films.
Thomas Romain (the artist for Family Traits) worked on animations including Code Lyoco and Ōban Star-Racers.
6:44 ayy! A fellow muppet fan!
The Muppet Christmas Carol, Die Hard, the 1947 Miracle on 34th Street, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the 1966 How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
My favorite Christmas movie is "emmet the otter's jug band christmas". If you like the muppets christmas specials it'll probably give similar vibes of overwhelming joy. Its just the cutest damn thing ever to be made into film

Fave Christmas film: Muppet Christmas Carol, but I also unironically love the original Miracle on 34th Street.
National lampoon's Christmas Vacation is the funniest Christmas movie ever
The first gremlins is one of my favourite Xmas films, but also the santa clause
Transformers Alliance is in Asia, it's pretty much the same concept as Transformers Heavy Metal: Pokemon Go but Transformers
My favourite Christmas movie is probably 'jingle all the way' it's a family tradition for me and after ps5s, it's probably as relevant as ever
Just locked myself out of my apartment on my birthday, so thanks for keeping me company while I wait to get back in!
I like the original Grinch or Pinky and the Brain Christmas! :D
Edit: yeah im with you on the overly complex figures.
I don't think I have an actual 'favorite Christmas movie' so much as a 'Favorite movie that played a lot at Christmas'.
The pencil thing killed me. I’m glad somebody said something about it
What is it a reference to?
@@TheBloopperson pretty sure it’s chefatron, unless other people are doing it now too
Thank you, Thew!! Super stoked to see ol’Ironhide!
My favorite Christmas movie is Gremlins. It has everything. Snow, love, frightening little monsters and togetherness.
My brother in law got me Night Countess for Christmas
She is SO GOOD! I had no idea Sam did work on her, and she looks so good in a Prime display
As the local weeb who did like 6 months of Japanese on duolingo once, dudeman at 15:32 is Wreck-Gar.
Will look forward to the big crimbo review in the new year & I do certainly hope that you are feeling better
Also, I do love The Muppets Christmas Carol but I don't have it on record on the TV, it isn't on any TV channel that I know of, I don't have a working DVD Player or a Blu-Ray Player of any kind (not that I have a DVD/Blu-Ray of it) & I don't have D+ so big sad for me not being able to watch it.

Muppets Christmas Carol is definitely my No. 1 Xmas movie as well. From 'Heat Wave!' to singing Beaker, it's perfect.
Ending on an Animated toy was so perfect
Merry Crimbo, Thew! How you get a Skywarp you don't have yet, if there even is one at this point.
EDIT: That Blackarachnia isn't just very heavily toy focused, but based on her original card art! Right down to the leopard patterned ta-tas.
I actually flip the backpack on the gold bug to give that g1 look.
15:12 those books are the coolest thing ever i wanna know where to get one so bad
Oh they added back in “When Love Is Gone?” nice!!!! That’s useful Christmas movie information I was not expecting from you XD
My favourite Christmas film is Gremlins. Muppet's Christmas Carol is a top contender though.

30:09 Hoo boy. That QR code was uh...well it went some places. Dear oh dear.
"Rad as all dads" has wormed it's way into my everyday vernacular and nobody ever understands that it's a Thew reference and they look at me like I'm insane.

Merry Christmas Thew and to everyone who watches your videos.
Hi Thew
You're welcome for the chocolate and I'm happy you enjoyed the penguin. I hope you have a great Christmas and if you want anything else, please give me a shout
Take care mate and have a happy new year.
100% agreed on complicated vs. fun Transformers. When people are bragging about "only" taking 20 minutes to transform a toy, I'm like "PASS!"
Gremlins! Emmett Otter!
Gotta say I love love love the new Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, have watched it a half dozen times already
Two motorcycles with a little house in the middle? Wow!
You've heard of Monthly* Megatron, now prepare for Centennial Cy-Kill 😤💜
The character you couldn't recognise on the little poster for Transformers Aliance is apparently Wreckgar. The other one says Gray Shard. Or so the Japanese says. Merry Christmas Thew! Thanks for all the laughs this year!
that optimus is GLORIOUS.
you never cease to amuse me keep up the reviews and keep on trucking
Fun video! Thank you! And yes, you DO deserve all this. Don't laugh at me but Gremlins is my favorite. Next to Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart.
Thanks for the great vid again, Thew! Happy holidays!
Grandma got ran over by a reindeer
Favorite Christmas movie
That elite guard Optimus is one of the rarest transformers animated releases. Nemesis Prime was much more rare at 300 limited world wide. But I know elite guard Optimus was under 1000 pieces ever produced
with that angelic voice Thew
I now demand you and Jobby the Hong do a Christmas duet
Fave Christmas Film: The Bishop's Wife. Cary Grant. So good.
Cartoon Networks Animated Transformers was a brilliant show 😍
Technically, a Hotel Chocolate advert fumbled into our minds, unannounced.
Toe cutter I believe is a reference to the villain of the first Mad Max movie’s villain who is the leader of a motorcycle gang
Thanks for entertaining us all year round pal, hope our paths cross in 2023!
The thing about gobots is that, even if you don't like it, you still have the excellent machine robo anime to latch on.
Dude the Grinch with Jim Carrey a staple since my wife and I got together
Thew's reaction to 3rd party masterpiece-alike engineering is a mood
Umm well that QR code on animated optimus takes you to a very odd and NSFW site.
Plan B Christmas has a serious connotation, bud. I guess you aren't the pull-out king we all thought you were.
Favorite Christmas film is "Trading Places"
With all the Primes and the Megatrons and yatta yatta, my favorite TF may be Hoist because his design to me just screams "I'm here too!" and I think that's hilarious.
My anime Die Hard is Gundam Wing Endless Waltz which takes place on Christmas. I'm always a sucker for Christmas TV episodes, I do love Die Hard, but I have to say The Holiday is probably my favorite Christmas movie and I have my mom to thank (also my love of Jack Black movies).
Never got my hands on that voyager prime from animated not even the original color one it is pretty cool
The fact that I did a happy gasp when I saw this in my feed. Love you, Thew!!!
I was singing Psycho Killer after you mentioned Cycle Killer 😆 and you friggin delivered right after 👏👏
I think the name Toecutter is a reference to the leader of the villainous motorcycle gang in the first Mad Max film.
Last Christmas was actually directed by Paul Feig, who made Bridesmaids and Spy and some other movies that weren't so good.
Well Merry Christmas and a Hapy New Year to Thew and all others.
Well, more good stuff for Thew again in this Dammit Open!
Thew you don't have to beat your self up for getting sick it happens mate we just glad your ok
Merry Christmas thew and have great New Years, my transformers uncle
I need to add that OP to my collection! Merry Christmas Thew!
I meed more uncut unboxing action, THEW!
Merry Christmas Thew!
2015 Krampus is the top of the Christmas list each year. The Weta workshop special effects and creatures, Adam Scott and directed by Trick or Treat Dougherty
Toecutter was a friend and regular at blueprint in nottingham at Lobotomy night hes a nice dude I was part of the night and others there.
Late to the party Thew but you were close on that Muppet Christmas...but the best Jim Henson Christmas film is Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas. As a musician you will love it! Happy New Year you Sexy British Bloke!
Every unboxing video is like Christmas day when you're in Thew-land!
