Bmw was saved by the 3 series and audi was by volkswagen, but back in the day if you where to say audi or bmw is going to sell more cars than for example chevrolett people would laugh at you.. this is the way of life... excuse my english
HTC Desire C was my first smartphone, I`d love to see someone release a sub 5", replaceable battery, soft touch, grippy backside phone again, it was slow and had a low resolution screen, but it felt great in the hand and was compact and easy to live with, unlike all these 7" monstrosities we have to choose from today. I`m using a 2016 Sony Xperia Compact because it actually fits in a pocket, getting a compact smartphone in 2021 is damn near impossible, and it`s a huge hole in the market..
This is what I don't get, why isn't anyone doing a "feature" phone that's essentially a smartphone, but without any cameras, no gps, no orientation sensor, no compass, no hall sensor, only 720p resolution, only one speaker, a huge user replaceable battery, only 1 port (usb type c), no fingerprint reader, good Bluetooth for connectivity with other devices, plastic body, no nfc, no wireless charging, good wifi, good SOC. The idea is that the phone would be a cheap easily replaceable phone that will last for several years on 1 generation
@@berbervdwoude4965 Why did you get another HTC phone after you had one explode on you? Did it explode when you were using it or while it was it was just sitting there?
That sux they had the battery exploding problem with the Galaxy S7. Still even if I had a Galaxy S7 and it exploded on me I'd probably still get another Samsung Galaxy model because I like the Samsung Galaxy line of phones so much. They have always worked great for me, I like how well they run and how nice they are and to much more to list. Of course I wouldn't get another Galaxy S7 but past that I'd get another Galaxy phone. In fact actually got the next generation Galaxy S8 Plus, when I got it I didn't know they had a problem with the Galaxy S7 phones batteries exploding, however even if I had known the Galaxy S7 had problems I still would have gotten a Galaxy S8! The Galaxy S8 was a great phone, even though I have a Samsung Note20 Ultra 5G now I still actually have my S8 Plus. Long story but I actually have two Galaxy S8 Plus phones and they still run great and are plenty fast and could easily keep up with any mid-range smartphone out today lol! I even had a Galaxy S10 Plus before I got my Note20 Ultra 5G and it was a great phone too. I don't have my S10 Plus anymore though, I traded it in towards my Note20 Ultra 5G. I wouldn't have gotten my Note20 Ultra 5G if I wouldn't have gotten so much trade in on my S10 Plus because I couldn't justify spending the full retail price on a Note20 Ultra 5G. In fact after trading in my S10 Plus and managing to get them to waive the $100 in taxes on my Note20 Ultra 5G 512gb model I managed to get it for only $800 which made it totally worth it!
But the fun part of Vine was that they were so short, it meant that you had to get something really funny or else your video would just fail. Lest we never forget some of the greatest memes we got from that platform like: fre sha vacado!
I guess it might be phones with targeted ads or ones with "Nick Click"-esque cameras. If you don t know what the Nick Click is, it's a 1999 Nickelodeon-themed digital camera that gave photo outputs that made even the photos taken from early camera phones look like they were taken from a DSLR camera in comparison. Basically the picture would have the resolution of a GameBoy Game, and you can print them out onto a full sheet of paper, making them look like pixelated nightmares.
Some websites have so many video ads they make my phone overheat so id imagine if people didnt make a clear stance eventually all phones would have ads and that is really not the business.
Xiaomi isn't the only one doing it. Samsung jumped on the shitwagon too. Samsung stock apps have ads baked in, and I've had to replace all the stock ones with 3rd party apps on my Note 8.
People tend to shy away whenever an app comes with a pricetag straight away, so app-devs want their app to be free of charge, at least in a limited or trial version, so of course they need ads to earn money for their work. But a phone is an entirely different concept, the customer HAS to pay for it anyway, and the OS is part of the product, having ads baked into a product *I PAYED FOR*, is a absolute no-go. Unless they give ad-finaced phones away for free, i won't see this as a valid concept, still won't use one though, i rather choose for myself, whom gets to annoy me.
Im a student and I have a Xiaomi Redmi note 9 pro, and I dont mind the adds because theres no way I could afford any other phone with the specs it has, so I think the adds are fine as a trade off because my phone is the best I've ever had. That being said if I had a full time job, I'd probably pay the extra for no adds. But right now broke me is saying I dont care because my phone is brilliant
I don't care how cheap it makes a phone, I will never buy one with advertising baked in unless it can be rooted and a custom ROM installed to rid it of the ads, I'm absolutely sick of the relentless adverts in everything!
I wish HTC could make a comeback. The best phone I ever had(relative to other phones on the market) was the HTC mytouch 4g. Never had any problems or issues not caused by me. I did break the charging port by accidently using the wrong cord and HTC sent me a replay for free. It had an amazing camera and survived many drops and a couple dips in the pool. Still worked like a champ.
I just bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 two weeks ago and it was completely add free. Only few removable games and apps. I guess they learned their lesson...
Awww the Yota Phone sounds like a really cool idea. I would've loved that if it could've been done in an ideal way. Big bummer, I hope we see something close to that soon in a realistic way.
About that Yotaphone. I actually had one as my first smartphone. I loved it. After few years unfortenetly it started to turn yourself off unless it was charged. The display on the back was not only practical but it also was a really cool design feature. For example i had on back of my phone a flower that was blooming over time. For 12 year old me it was a miracle. I see that the phone is bad for normal customer. But i still remeber it as the coolest phone i ever had. I was really disapointed when the company stopped doing more phones.
3:55 Amazon actually does this with their fire tablets, having a cheaper version with ads baked into it (you can pay to remove them) and from the year I used it before I had a phone, it was a little annoying, but not unbearable
@@CreeperPookie no, how would Adblock work if the ads ar literally built into the OC and UI? Adblock mostly works with Browsers, and select apps like youtube and tiktok(if tiktok as ads, I don't use it)

Bmw was saved by the 3 series and audi was by volkswagen, but back in the day if you where to say audi or bmw is going to sell more cars than for example chevrolett people would laugh at you.. this is the way of life... excuse my english

@@DanielSultana why would you buy a device without a camera?

The weirdest thing about HTC is that they went from smartphones to VR. Better yet there really good at it.
I never thought about that but it's so true. I remember when my friend had an HTC phone many years back and it was a top of the line phone back then.
I had a HTC phone and it exploded and after that I bought a new phone obviously and months after that I got a replacement from HTC
@@berbervdwoude4965 Why did you get another HTC phone after you had one explode on you? Did it explode when you were using it or while it was it was just sitting there?
@@chevy5137 Because they failed to finish him off the first time, obviously.

If ads being baked into a phone is 4/10, I can't wait to see what's worse than that.
The really sad reason it isn't a bigger number is because they haven't fully failed yet, ads are still going.
Xiaomi isn't the only one doing it. Samsung jumped on the shitwagon too. Samsung stock apps have ads baked in, and I've had to replace all the stock ones with 3rd party apps on my Note 8.
I have no ads on my Xiaomi phone since I disabled them all , it's not that big of an issue

Ads baked directly in my OS for a cheaper phone? HELL NO.
I’d rather get an expensive phone rather than that
me who get used to it: hmm
People tend to shy away whenever an app comes with a pricetag straight away, so app-devs want their app to be free of charge, at least in a limited or trial version, so of course they need ads to earn money for their work.
But a phone is an entirely different concept, the customer HAS to pay for it anyway, and the OS is part of the product,
having ads baked into a product *I PAYED FOR*, is a absolute no-go.
Unless they give ad-finaced phones away for free, i won't see this as a valid concept, still won't use one though, i rather choose for myself, whom gets to annoy me.
