Great video, just picked up a 2014 glk 350 with 58k so was thinking of doing this as I already have a mityvac. Was actually surprised how good your old fluid looked.
Hola, yo tengo un c350 4matic de 2012 y tengo también diferencial delantero, yo lo he hecho desde arriba quitando el filtro del aire, por el tapon de arriba justo detras del alternador.
Does the fact that there's a breather hole at the top mean that there's no danger of overfilling? If so I think I'd want to estimate on the high side not knowing how much I will spill...despite my best efforts. Also, with my pump, it looks like there's about 75ml left in the pump after dispensing. So I guess I have to account for that.
It's a copper crush washer to create a seal when you re tighten. I don't have the part number off hand. If you call the Mercedes dealer they will have it
Do you know if the 2014 cls 550 4 matic is just a drain only? And doesnt share fluid with trans. Someone told me you dont need to. Fill from drain plug
Not sure. Best bet is to take a look and confirm. It will be obvious if there is a fill plug. In the case of this car there isn't so you either fill like this or pop off the cv axle shaft and fill from there.
Hi, what gear oil did you use? Can I use Mobil 1 75w/90 synthetic from Advance Auto for my 2013 E350 4matic? Do you have other videos for transfer case as well?
Yea, 72k. The fluid wasn't that bad but the car was recently purchased. Wanted a good baseline. These differentials don't see much abuse, but the fluid still breaks down over time. Good practice
Torque: Front axle drain screw 20NM for 204, 207, 212, & 218. Capacity: Hypiod gear oil .55 liters for all. Very useful video!

Yea so was I. But cheap insurance for me to replace and go another bunch of years
Bruh you saved me so much money on doing this
BRO!!! THATS PERFECT FOR ME AND EVERYONE ELSE!!!👍😁👏🏻
Awesome thanks for the info it’s really helpful

Hi. Thanks for the video. You mentioned a washer on the plug. What is the washer is it? Is there a part number or link you could share. Thanks!

Good job
Wow. good. how can be took out the air while the oil in?
Hello, could you please tell me what size is the washer for the drain plug? Thanks
I thought the front diff on these cars shared the ATF with the transmission and transfer case.
No sir
I can’t imagine a front differential being lubricated with ATF. They are totally different oils and different viscosities.
Very clever! What type of fluid did you use?
Mercedes spec 75w85

My question is. Unsure if its separate.

Hello my front differential has to come out and be checked to see what should be replaced.. do you maybe have some sort of manual for that?
Does this procedure work on a GLK x204 ? Thanks
Yea it should
Link for the tank please
Many thanks

u can use any gear oil in the older mercedes that mobil 1 is definitely more then exceptional
Is that adapter something I can buy?
It's for the Mercedes transmission fill. It's the same thread type
Hi, it’s the atf adapter 722.9 isn’t it ?
Correct
if you change the front diff oil, do you have to change the back one too?
It's always good to do both, but not necessary
Link to the fill tank?

how many miles did you have? (never mind u said 72,000)

Mine had 162K miles on the original fluid and no issues.
