I have an e-bike in the states. It was detuned from 1000 watts to 500. I reversed it. That is done by unhooking one wire (already in there) from the controller and hooking up another. Yours is undoubtedly the same. Look inside and check online. You would benefit from the upgrade and the police won't know. Also, the restrictions you mentioned probably do not apply in the woods or on private property. That looks like a VERY nice bike.
You don't have to mess about with wireson my Fiido C11 city bike, you just hold down on the mode button until the rocket icon apoears and you're good to go.😊

the 250W restriction is a bit of a walk around by the manufacturers, by the letter of the law the motor needs to display a 250W marking on it, but this is nominal value (whatever the manufacturer wants really) . Most completely legal pedal assist e-bikes in the UK have 400-750W motors in them with a "250W" sticker
Shame you felt the need to remove the throttle. I have 2 Fiido D2S bikes and one of the key features I wanted was a throttle to aid with pulling away . The police are never in a million years going to bother people using them, they may use scaremongering through social media etc to put people off but they simply haven't the time to police it. Last summer we used them so much when out in our campervan going to surrounding places and seeing places we wouldn't normally see. Really liked both videos look forward to future episodes
Actually the police are looking at illegal e-bikes though it seems it’s mostly around delivery riders in cities. Having said that they’ll quickly become aware of the models that aren’t compliant & if you’re riding on the road with one you’ll have a greater chance of them taking an interest
@@hughmarcus1 it's still a very grey area as you can have a throttle to assist you upto 6mph so unless people are silly enough to go past the police doing 15+mph then no reason to get stopped. Hopefully if the rumour about allowing throttle upto 15mph and upto 500w motors becomes legal next year then those people who worry about it won't have to.
I didn't know these bikes had a 750 watt motor reduced electronically down to 250 Watts . I live in the USA so I will take a second look at this bike on RUclips from American reviewers . Thanks for pointing out this information
darn!!!! "Simon a bloke running from the authorities on his Ebike" might have been an awesome channel - at least for one video anyway. Sigh, however, we will never know. Glad you're legal now mate. Would have been an interesting scenario if you'd found out after you were stopped by the constable. Looking forward to the "slower" Simon a bloke in the woods on his Ebike.
UK legislation does allow a throttle up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph). This is commonly known as "walk assist", and was intended for walking a bike uphill. "Walks Assist" was commonly made available as a simple button with speeds controlled by changing gears. Using a throttle for walk assist is becoming more popular because it give you a simple way of initially accelerating.
the ultra silly part is a throttle is actually SAFER the idiots who made throttles illegal did so under the notion that pedal assist just helps you out a little the harder you pedal the more if gives you a push thats not how it works there are a few bikes that do indeed do this they use torque sensors but those cost too much for most ebikes so the rest have cadence sensors which just care that the pedals are turning they then dump full power for the mode your in you could pedal at 1 rpm and the motor is going to give you full power 15mph the pedaling portion is redundant then there's the fact that whilst trying to pedal slowly your bike is jolting full power on and off as your coasting and giving the odd pedal to push a little bit finally throttle is actually safer if your using the roads because it gives you immediate ready to go movement without needing to set pedals and push off and change through gears so instead of smooth throttles where you decide the power we have novelty throttles that require you clown pedal and then get whomped with full power with no adjustability beyond the 3-5 settings the controller gives
@@Sarge92 It is safer. I use the throttle to get me going to about 6MPH before I could use pedal assist where it would be a smooth and comfy ride. Like what, I am not forcing the traffic to stop cause my pedal assist has a major delay, it is also safer in places were pedestrians tend to be walking across as you have better control over the bike unlike with a pedal assist only situation. Thankfully there are bikes that have little delay but my bike was a tad cheaper so I had to make do. By the way, all the assist levels are the same level of thrust only that it is more delayed which may cause an accident, at least on my bike. Twisting the throttle a few times to get going is much better than only pedal assist as that seizes my ability to stop in time, especially when a ped crosses the road without looking or due care.
@@Sarge92 totally agree with you! I have this bike for 3 months and I was falling few times riding it in snowy conditions. I was avoiding the throttle since is 'illegal' and when start pedalling the full power kicks in, comparing with using the throttle where you can control the electric power more precise
I can't scoot along like that on the throttle assist...mine does 4mph tops with an ordinary sized person, with my heavy butt and all my gear, it'll be greatly reduced and is only useful as an aid to get the bike moving in order for the pedal assist to kick in. 15.5mph...I'm happy with 10mph. I remember doing 37mph downhill on a racer and the speed wobble was scary. At 58 years old, it isn't the speed, but the ability to get there safely and the journey's sights
I've been researching this myself. Fido EU have some nice-looking bikes, but most are illegal here in the UK. In my area, 3 ebike riders were prosecuted last week. It's not a simple slap on the wrist fine, either. It's riding without a helmet, riding without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle on the road, etc., and all resulted in actual driving bans. This means you can lose your 'other' means of transport too, probably suffer highly inflated insurance premiums etc. in the future as you will have to disclose a traffic prosecution, driving without insurance, etc. I was tempted to do the same and asked fido if the throttle could be removed (no response), but given the severity of the possible punishment...
I dont know wherabouts you live in the UK but it's mostly London and a few big cities the police clampdown, l have 3 ebikes one a Fiido that simply holding down the mode button brings up the rocket icon and it flys, it does pretty well on ordinary sport mode and lokks just like a mountain bike with the battery in the frame, my other bikes look like motorbikes but never once have l been stopped, the other day in my small town l went past one police van who didnt even look, then just after l turned up a road with traffic parked up all aalong the street l pulled into the side and waited for the police van a different one to come past me the driver acknowledged my courtesy of waiting, then l came to a box junctiion and waited on as another police van came straight past, its the most police ive seen in a long time there must habe been something on but they didnt seem in a hurry. Just ride properly and you will be ok.
So, if they are not legal to be used in the UK in a brand new as purchased condition, then surely any company selling one is in breech of the sale of goods act?
Rack mount. I used pipe mounts one for rack one for a 10mil tube I mounted to accept bag clip. Bolted together so you have two tubes the thinner outer one for bag.
Hi Simon, Thanks so much for the update, that all makes a lot of sense. I have an e-mountainbike and love taking it out in the woods and hills. Your eBike looks very sturdy and well up to the task. Also very affordable compared to some other ebikes. I notice the saddle also has some suspension which is ideal on a hardtail bike.
I really do like this bike! The way it looks, how much it can hold and the heavy-duty battery that gets you unbelievable distance in the colder month's. Just gutted it had its throttle removed 😔Cheers Simon 🍻
The UK e-bike rules are similar to ours in Australia. Up to 250 watts - OK, no throttle over 200 watts, anything over 250w to be registered, insured etc. A 750 watt motor governed to 250w ? Don't think that would pass the test here - the cops look for stamped 250 watts on the motor cover. The cops don't seem to know about battery volts though so the 48v would get past them and provide an extra boost. There has been some daft commentary here about allowing larger motors but setting an overall speed limit for e-bikes. 750 watt motor but bike the subject of a 25 kph speed limit? ! Most bikes with a reasonably fit rider and no motor easily go faster than that along the flat and certainly downhill so I wouldn't like to see that. Looking forward to your upcoming videos, especially now spring is in the air up there.
Yeah. Reading the uk gov site. It says anything with over 250w is illegal for use on UK roads and is classed as a motor vehicle.. needs to be labelled as 250w having the 750 w label and ‘restricted’ to 250w electronically will not fly… as the Australian commenter says the police will see the 750w badge and say it is not compliant. You would need a letter of compliance to prove it falls under uk e-bike rules.
It's such a strange "quirk" of the law that you can use pedal assist to ride at 15mph, but using a throttle to go the EXACT SAME speed is illegal.... I would understand using a throttle to go 60mph, but in this case it seems to make very little difference to the safety of the bike as far as I can tell. Regarding the bike. I don't usually like this sort of bike, but this thing has a pretty cool "utilitarian" vibe that I kinda dig. I'm not convinced by the alloy wheels, as I have no experience with them and there may be a reason more companies don't do it, but I'm sure they'll be sturdy! The only thing it needs is tyres with a bit more bite!
A UK throttle IS legal if it is limited to 6 kph, or 4 mph, as it usually is on a bike with a cadence (speed) sensor. You can use it in 'walk assist mode' to help you push the bike up steps or a steep hill, for example. It also assists in getting off the mark until the sensor kicks in and starts giving you power, which can take up to two or three turns of the pedals. Edit; I don't actually know if the T1 Pro has a cadence sensor, as opposed to a torque sensor (which is much better), but the (stupid 🤬) law is the same in both cases.
I have noticed variations in battery cells used on the Fiido T1. Oriinally some of the batteries used 2170 cells. In the video here you have 18650 (2900mAh) cells. My T1 was an early bird, it uses 18650 (2600mAhr) cells. There is about 2500 miles on it. So far so good with regard to degradation.
Mobility scooters have a throttle and they're okay, I personally class my e-bike as a 2 wheeled mobility scooter with pedals. Had mine for 2 years now no issues at all :)
My elderly friends first motorbike when he wasnt even 18yo was a Triumph Bonneville with 600HP, oh an Simon that regulation was an EU/Brussels dictat and doesnt apply to private property or travelling fyi ;)
It's a pity we can't have the higher power and throttle option on these bikes in the UK without the need of the extra licencing etc. I think Ebikes and normal bikes are a fantastic way to get to camp
@@marks-0-0 meanwhile people go round doing what they like on e scooters.. Let's not also forget you can easily hit 30mph under pedal power, no difference really. Just out of touch law makers making up nanny state rules for the rest of the sheeple to follow. In my opinion the e bike rules need serious updating. Minimum 500w motors allowed and 20mph throttle. That's my tuppence anyway and I've been riding ebikes for quite a few years now. Remember just because some out of touch person makes rules doesn't mean they know what's best either..
Great to see another e bike camper ,ive got a very similar powerd folding bike love it no more carrying heavy backpacks .im leaving mine as it is love the power im sensible on buisy roads and ride very slow and courteous past people on pathways and always weat my helmet.its the scooters that are illegal not ebikes and scooters arnt botherd by police.im sure the neighdowers will disagree, but they winge about everything dont they.enjoy the bike simon maybe do a double ebike camp with andy.👍
Brilliant video Simon, and very nice bike I own a fiido L3 which is more a tarmac travel bike, the build quality is very good, I notice it has the same computer on it as mine, I usually drive it in a3 and unlocked by holding the 2 buttons till it blinks then up down up on the buttons, mines a 350w motor and gets 20mph, yours be getting 40+, safe journey 👍
it could all be done in software , no need to hack up a nice bike , it could have had an on road mode and an off-road mode to allow use of the higher power and throttle in cross country tracks .
I didn't know you were a carpenter by trade, but building your own canoo should have told me! I am a tradesman too of sorts, and I bought an ebike, I thought I could transport tools in a box on a trailer! Haha. I can if the road is flat but I live in a hilly area, so that was a fail. You can buy disc locks that have motion sensor alarms, good for camping because its quite a high pitched noise, though cover it when it rains because even the rain will set it off. Maybe you could get one of those rugged mono wheel trailers and review that for camping too
I was thinking the same a separate video with a trailer 100 kilos onboard on a long trip . Great job on the videos , thanks a lot I was looking into this bike myself and you are the only one who has done review on this bike . 👍
@@bobanzikic779 I now think it is possible to build a trailer, aluminium box section drilled and bolted together, buy a small shock absorber and find a wheel from a childs bike. If it is 1M long it can have a flexible solar panel as a cover, this will enable a spare battery to be charged a little bit on the way
any update or plans to do a longer term review? Am looking at a Fiido and curious about real use longevity considering the price differences other cargo bike offerings.
I believe you could rig up a circle of rope long enough to hitch your Ortlieb panniers on the bike. Use a thick strong cord tie it in a circle that is large enough to let both panniers sit just below the top of the rack. It certainly looks like a nice sturdy e bike. The seat would be limiting to me for pedaling.
Bit late to the party, but with the mud issue those mud guard's need to more off the wheel. Obviously in a clay type environment the mud will build up and eventually block the wheel. It happens on motorbikes all the time.
I was interested to see you have removed the thumb throttle from your bike. My first Ebike had a thumb throttle but the speed when using it was limited to 4mph. It was very handy to get going when mounting the bike. If I had been you I would have left the throttle in place. The chance of you ever being challenged by the boys in blue are vanishingly small. They can't even respond to fairly serious crimes these days. I look forward to seeing your future adventures on the bike.
I agree, the throttle and speed limits in England are pretty harsh. Where I live in the states the speed limit is 28 mph with throttle only and it is still a bicycle.
On the issue of throttles. I'm from Australia with pretty much the same regulations... what I've found quite hilarious with my own ebike is that the maximum peddle assist mode is several orders of magnitude more powerful than throttle alone. Throttle does about 17km/h, max assist does about 25-27km/h (the legal limit for ebikes here). So really, just doing what I call 'fake peddling' (peddling slower than the speed of the motor) is already more effective than throttle. Yet that's considered 'legal'. And it's still just a 250w motor. My 'foil hat' thinking is that they couldn't possibly let the plebs get a whiff of freedom and then lose out on motor vehicle taxes etc.
The Police won’t batter a eye lid at one these it’s only really the big Surron like bikes and e-scooters that grab their attention. If your under 500w and not going obviously quicker than a bicycle turning the peddles being sensible you be fine and will probably never get stopped because you just blend in with normal bikes.
I was going to mention that. The law really is an ass. Gently pedaling will make the motor kick in. Pedaling hard gives you the same power as having the throttle and pedaling hard. The throttle merely provides convenience. It seems to me to be one of those situation where the law is decided by people who have never even ridden a bicycle, let alone an ebike. In the country where I live, the throttle is allowed, thankfully, and probably accounts for the very high numbers of ebike riders.
pedal sensor requirement was passed by lawmakers who think pedal assist means the harder you pedal the harder it powers you there's only 1 system that does this which is torque sensors and no one uses them aside from a small handfull of companies the rest use cadence sensors which just care that the pedals are moving at all
How do you accelerate once the throttle is gone? In the early part of this video you adroitly snipped and plugged the thumb throttle, but it reappears subsequently. You up front mentioned using previous footage. Great homage to the paratrooper bikes. I also thought it featured strongly after them.
@@kevindblew6822 you pedal and the bike whomps you with full throttle basically the bike now has 5 speed modes each triggered at there full power by the pedals moving which is clearly safer than a throttle which allows near infinite amount of power choice and control over acceleration rates I've had it happen many times where ill go to adjust pedal position whilst coasting slowly but turn the pedals just enough to trigger the pedal assist and send the bike flying along at full throttle for 2-5 seconds until the controller cuts power from me not pedaling banning throttles is the dumbest restriction they placed
@@kevindblew6822 There are sensors on the pedals. When you start to pedal, the motor kicks in, but at full power. The throttle allows you some degree of control.
The " Bloke in the Woods" is now compliant on his e bike, well done Simon, that's what we like. No more throttle to make it lawfull, because if you got nicked, that would be awful. 👍😏
I have been surrounded by police on my FIIDO L3 350w with throttle policing a football match and they didn’t bat an eyelid because I peddled , even if you just peddle fresh air while using the throttle as long as your not going like a lunatic they won’t bother you , it’s just a case of riding sensibly so you don’t attract unwanted attention .
Hopefully, the police will be too busy focusing on real criminals like- I dunno- rapists, murderers, burglars etc....... I'm a shift manager and recently some lads stole an e-bike, one night from the bike shed in work. I rang the police gave them all the details and told them we had CCTV footage. Nothing!!!! No follow up of any sort what so ever.
... but, you know, these criminals, well they are so frightfully ... criminal 😮 Much safer to bugger well behaved, responsebly driving everyday people isn't it 😑 🖖🏻
@ashley_neal put out a video the other day and covered throttles on e-bikes, I think he said they're legal but only to push you up to 5MPH, the rest has to be pedal assist up to 15MPH
Hey, question: is this bike IP68? I cannot find the information on the Fiido website. If you ride under rain and mud, wondering if you can or not. Cheers
I hope the cops don’t bother with you about your bike. Surely, they have more important criminals to worry about. I can’t speak to the US law about e-bikes. I just don’t know. I have been riding a motorcycle since the 80’s, so, I haven’t worried about a bike license. Spending the morning looking at Fiido Bikes. Might be a good fit, because I live in the country, about 10 miles from anywhere. My Tundra gets 15-16 miles per gallon. My Harley gets about 45 mpg, is big and heavy. So, I’m very interested in the e-bikes. Thanks for sharing…from east Tennessee. P.S. If you’re considering getting a Tundra…get a used, 5.7L, 8 cylinder, long bed. Heh, heh, heh…😅

Respect to you for the honesty and update.
Too bad that you had to make the adjustments to the bike. Riding the bike to campsite will be a treat for you and we know you’ll always be smiling as you feel the breeze in your face as you head to camp. All our best, Skillet
Excellent Comment! To Hell with totally ridiculous regulations. They can stuff them!!
You don't have to mess about with wireson my Fiido C11 city bike, you just hold down on the mode button until the rocket icon apoears and you're good to go.😊
Simon, we always look forward to your videos as you combine information and entertainment in a down to earth manner. Pleased to see you wearing your cycle helmet - unlike someone else who has an e-bike! However -" has the look of a paratrooper bike" - nooooo it has a shopping basket on the front!! Enjoy anyway, Sue.
Hey Simon you make really awesome Reviews. And testing that Stuff pretty well.
Like many have said, better than many tv shows. Especially the Facts , Miles and, Speeds , Loadout weights. Hope you stay sharp and bring us more from this amazing Survival Travel Bushcraft Style of Content.
My biggest wish would be you would become the Fiido Titan with 400 Km Range for a Test ! This E-Bike, when reliable, will be the Game Changer for every Nature Enthusiast. 💪👍
The frame has the design of something like a Puch Maxi or Tomos. Looks very nice
I enjoyed this video. I don't know if I will ever get one, but I can tell others about it, Simon!!
Remember I’ll eagle is just a sick bird . Keep up the nice videos your talented dude . I hope England and Germany smarten up on ebike laws
Well done for the updated info.
Your content is top notch.
If you keep making ‘em I’ll keep watching ‘em!
the 250W restriction is a bit of a walk around by the manufacturers, by the letter of the law the motor needs to display a 250W marking on it, but this is nominal value (whatever the manufacturer wants really) .
Great Information on E-Bikes Simon !!
Good luck on your next ride out 👍
Great review mate, don’t let the haters get you down 👍👍
Who could hate Simon, except the Taliban.....but they hate everyone and everything.
Using a throttle for walk assist is becoming more popular because it give you a simple way of initially accelerating.
the ultra silly part is a throttle is actually SAFER
the idiots who made throttles illegal did so under the notion that pedal assist just helps you out a little the harder you pedal the more if gives you a push
thats not how it works there are a few bikes that do indeed do this they use torque sensors but those cost too much for most ebikes so the rest have cadence sensors which just care that the pedals are turning they then dump full power for the mode your in you could pedal at 1 rpm and the motor is going to give you full power 15mph the pedaling portion is redundant
then there's the fact that whilst trying to pedal slowly your bike is jolting full power on and off as your coasting and giving the odd pedal to push a little bit
finally throttle is actually safer if your using the roads because it gives you immediate ready to go movement without needing to set pedals and push off and change through gears
so instead of smooth throttles where you decide the power we have novelty throttles that require you clown pedal and then get whomped with full power with no adjustability beyond the 3-5 settings the controller gives
@@Sarge92 It's all about preventing the ebike from challenging the supremacy of cars.
That's not a throttle.
I'd like to be able to try one for myself as I have copd and can't cycle like I use to
So, if they are not legal to be used in the UK in a brand new as purchased condition, then surely any company selling one is in breech of the sale of goods act?
Probably one of those bizarre situations where it’s not illegal to sell the thing, but illegal to use it. 🙄
Veoma dobra bicikla,super video,veliki pozdrav🤠🍀👍
I really do like this bike! The way it looks, how much it can hold and the heavy-duty battery that gets you unbelievable distance in the colder month's. Just gutted it had its throttle removed 😔Cheers Simon 🍻
Super super Super, Super
Agree with everyone else here that you seem very honest and I love all your movies.
Tonight I will order a similar one😃...
What pity about having to mod the bike. Bananas!
Nice one Simon , unlike your mate Kent Survival who should get a job on a shopping channel sold out to the man
Great looking bike and the colour is superb! Cheers
You really do a great job
Good update Simon 👍
Absolutely love this style of travel. I’d like to try this
The UK e-bike rules are similar to ours in Australia.
Thank You for the Update, Simon. I appreciate your integrity and sense of responsibility to fully inform us about the products you use.
The only thing it needs is tyres with a bit more bite!
legislators are corrupt idiots everywhere
Hopefully you will never release “Simon, a bloke in jail” 😂
Stay safe and drive carefully mate!!
Nice looking solid robust wee bike,it looks like you’re thoroughly enjoying it.that mastic tool looked like it’s been well used 😂.👍
A UK throttle IS legal if it is limited to 6 kph, or 4 mph, as it usually is on a bike with a cadence (speed) sensor. You can use it in 'walk assist mode' to help you push the bike up steps or a steep hill, for example.
It also assists in getting off the mark until the sensor kicks in and starts giving you power, which can take up to two or three turns of the pedals.
Edit; I don't actually know if the T1 Pro has a cadence sensor, as opposed to a torque sensor (which is much better), but the (stupid 🤬) law is the same in both cases.
that looks like a good bit of kit
Great piece of kit. I want one!
I did think i was going mad, but nice (responsible) update
You could have just told us you'd made the mods we wouldn't have said anything! 😆👍
The coppers never seem to stop the people on those privately owned
e scooters
Mobility scooters have a throttle and they're okay, I personally class my e-bike as a 2 wheeled mobility scooter with pedals. Had mine for 2 years now no issues at all :)
My elderly friends first motorbike when he wasnt even 18yo was a Triumph Bonneville with 600HP, oh an Simon that regulation was an EU/Brussels dictat and doesnt apply to private property or travelling fyi ;)
Almost any soft panniers for motorcycle use would fit that large tube frame.
That's good to know. Thank you.
Oh wow eye opening about the throttle
Cheers for confirming that I'm not going mad, I was a bit worried there for a moment!
Safety first!
As solid 244 says......thank you Simon
It's a pity we can't have the higher power and throttle option on these bikes in the UK without the need of the extra licencing etc. I think Ebikes and normal bikes are a fantastic way to get to camp
Yes its a pity but when you see idiots flying around on ebikes without pedalling at unsafe speeds then you realise we need rules.
@@marks-0-0 Yes unfortunately thats true
@@marks-0-0 meanwhile people go round doing what they like on e scooters.. Let's not also forget you can easily hit 30mph under pedal power, no difference really. Just out of touch law makers making up nanny state rules for the rest of the sheeple to follow. In my opinion the e bike rules need serious updating. Minimum 500w motors allowed and 20mph throttle. That's my tuppence anyway and I've been riding ebikes for quite a few years now. Remember just because some out of touch person makes rules doesn't mean they know what's best either..
Thank the idiots driving at 30mph through pedestrian zones & knocking people down 😬
Great to see another e bike camper ,ive got a very similar powerd folding bike love it no more carrying heavy backpacks .im leaving mine as it is love the power im sensible on buisy roads and ride very slow and courteous past people on pathways and always weat my helmet.its the scooters that are illegal not ebikes and scooters arnt botherd by police.im sure the neighdowers will disagree, but they winge about everything dont they.enjoy the bike simon maybe do a double ebike camp with andy.👍
Nice bike!
I commute 35 km on an e-bike and cold weather does indeed lower the capacity of the battery. I recon about 15-20% when you go sub zero.
Great vlog. In two minds as to if to buy one but concerned about the UK legal bit and how easy to adapt.
Caulking and paint make me the carpenter I ain't :^)
Seems an opportunity for Fiido to modularize the throttle assembly so that they can sell a UK-compliant unit without DIY. 🤔
it could all be done in software , no need to hack up a nice bike , it could have had an on road mode and an off-road mode to allow use of the higher power and throttle in cross country tracks .
Maybe you could get one of those rugged mono wheel trailers and review that for camping too
That's a dang good idea! Thank you for suggesting it.
If it is 1M long it can have a flexible solar panel as a cover, this will enable a spare battery to be charged a little bit on the way
@@utubeape Excellent Idea . 👍🏼
any update or plans to do a longer term review? Am looking at a Fiido and curious about real use longevity considering the price differences other cargo bike offerings.
I believe you could rig up a circle of rope long enough to hitch your Ortlieb panniers on the bike. Use a thick strong cord tie it in a circle that is large enough to let both panniers sit just below the top of the rack. It certainly looks like a nice sturdy e bike. The seat would be limiting to me for pedaling.
Nice work sir!
If there was one time I would think of a saw blade cover , its 15:02. lol anyhow great vid , might just get one . Thanks
Great shout
Hi, Wow! I Love it & the Price is PERFECT.
Bit late to the party, but with the mud issue those mud guard's need to more off the wheel. Obviously in a clay type environment the mud will build up and eventually block the wheel. It happens on motorbikes all the time.
Thanks for sharing, best regards from Germany.
In the country where I live, the throttle is allowed, thankfully, and probably accounts for the very high numbers of ebike riders.
pedal sensor requirement was passed by lawmakers who think pedal assist means the harder you pedal the harder it powers you
there's only 1 system that does this which is torque sensors and no one uses them aside from a small handfull of companies the rest use cadence sensors which just care that the pedals are moving at all
@@Sarge92 Exactly. You put it far more succinctly than I did.
How do you accelerate once the throttle is gone?
In the early part of this video you adroitly snipped and plugged the thumb throttle, but it reappears subsequently. You up front mentioned using previous footage.
Great homage to the paratrooper bikes. I also thought it featured strongly after them.
@@kevindblew6822 you pedal and the bike whomps you with full throttle basically the bike now has 5 speed modes each triggered at there full power by the pedals moving
which is clearly safer than a throttle which allows near infinite amount of power choice and control over acceleration rates
I've had it happen many times where ill go to adjust pedal position whilst coasting slowly but turn the pedals just enough to trigger the pedal assist and send the bike flying along at full throttle for 2-5 seconds until the controller cuts power from me not pedaling
banning throttles is the dumbest restriction they placed
@@kevindblew6822 There are sensors on the pedals. When you start to pedal, the motor kicks in, but at full power. The throttle allows you some degree of control.
The " Bloke in the Woods" is now compliant on his e bike, well done Simon, that's what we like. No more throttle to make it lawfull, because if you got nicked, that would be awful. 👍😏
That is nuts dood!
Thanks for your video. How do unlock the speed setting to go faster? Thanks
I have a throttle on my RadRhino 6+. All it gives me is a little push when required. I think the firmware in the controller limits the operation.
It must be frustrating for you, not being briefed properly before you put your name to the first advertorial. Thanks for the update.
Thats a lot of ebikes being given away... scamming scum bags, karma will get you...
You took throttle off!
I was right when I first seen ya video 2 year ago, total t w. T
Should have said the thieves made comments that seemed to misgender the owner of the bike.... Full swat team in minutes.

Police like low hanging fruit so there is no hope involved
@ashley_neal put out a video the other day and covered throttles on e-bikes, I think he said they're legal but only to push you up to 5MPH, the rest has to be pedal assist up to 15MPH
Hey, question: is this bike IP68? I cannot find the information on the Fiido website. If you ride under rain and mud, wondering if you can or not. Cheers
Nice comfy review 👍🏼
Don't worry Simon , at least you're not committing a thought crime boyo . ♡♡
I like it. You could build a little trailer to pull behind it.
