Thanks for this tutorial. Love your binding stitch! Did you know that those clips have an upside and downside? The clear, flat side goes down against the machine and the colored side has a little bump to it. I learned that in a class. I love to use them. 🙂
Hello - I’ve been watching this series but am wondering if I’ve missed a video of where you top stitched over the front of the quilt (before you sewed the binding on?
I am enjoying your videos, just so easy to watch. I have my machine out again, been crocheting shawl and blankie for my Granddaughter but I do love to stitch by hand and machine.Finding your tips and instructions useful and have started quilting (in straight lines and cutting too) so exciting, Just want to say Thank You 🌸
Angela- I have not used the Singer Patchwork machine but I do own a Singer Quantum Stylist and I have always backstitched with the walking foot when attaching the binding. I would suggest trying on a scrap piece of fabric before trying on your quilt. There may be a reason the instructions say that but I’m not familiar as to why. Happy quilting 😊
@@TheCraftyAuthor Thanks for your response. I'm afraid I'll mess up the walking foot. Maybe I'll give Singer a call and ask them why it says not to backstitch.

Michele- I did not know that about the clips. Thank you for sharing that. I will have to try the flat side next time. 😊

Thank you, Alison! I am so glad that I have been able to help.
I have a Singer Patchwork machine and the walking foot instructions say not to backstitch. So I've been afraid to try that.

Angela- That is a great idea. Please let me know what they say. I’m curious as to why they recommend not doing it.
