Someone else answered your question about why he's telling essentially the story in a way I agree with, but I also wanted to challenge you a little on it. We tell the same story in different settings allllllll the time. Clueless is Emma. West Side Story is Romeo and Juliet. Etc. You can find the Hero's Journey structure in countless books and movies, note for note the same - it's a beloved formula. It's not unusual to tell variants of the same story - it's what we're all doing all the time when we write.
If the question is just why one person would tell a story with the same basic themes and plot but in a different setting, I think that's a fair and very interesting question! And I think he's showing a few things, including the passage of time. But even as time passes and his world changes, the struggle with himself remains. He's stuck in a pattern that repeats itself.
Amygdala is the third in the trilogy but it's nothing like the first two in style or approach. I think of it as the key to decode the cipher of the first two, the reality behind the metaphor.

So my theory is that the MV of Haegeum and it's similarities with Daechwita is also about himself and the eternal circle of suffering and greed he was in. Because in Daechwita Agust D the peasant brought the king down but it seems that in Haegeum he is back as the detective, or maybe it's the peasant that became the detective. But it seems in the end the Agust D of today triumphs over the detective, whom we see actually killed this time and the new Agust D doesn't have a scar anymore. And I think the scar links it all even more together because in Daechwita it'S still relatively fresh but on the detective it's nearly gone and the Agust D that's left standing in end doesn't have a scar at all anymore.
So the conclusion seems to me that he has finally overcome his suffering and greed.

This is it, yeah. He's stuck repeating this story.

Yeah I think similar, the story is so close but also different bc it is new story but the same mistakes are made (by Agust D with the scare), that is why circle continues, but last standing Agust D dosen't have the scare bc he is finaly free.

The boys worked hard before enlisting. In addition to releasing solo albums, promotional content, they recorded behind-the-scenes content for almost every activity. There was a lot of content created. They posted most of them on their channel. I hope you reach them someday.
And there are still many undiscovered cards ahead of us.
Documentaries: Suga: Road to D-Day, J-Hope in the Box, Jimin's Production Diary (FACE Documentary).
At the end of March, J-Hope's new album (one of the songs in collaboration with JK) and a documentary film "Hope on the Street" will be released, and in April "SUGA Agust D Tour D-Day.The movie" will be available in cinemas. Jungkook also recorded the process of making Golden, but it is not yet known when it will be released. And we are waiting for Jimin and Jungkook's Travel Vlog and RM's mysterious project. Jin will probably also release an album after finishing military service and there are some indications that JK has recorded some collaborations.
BTS doesn't know what hiatus is 😉

Just realized this is my first time watching Bookish Theories on Haegeum and I'm happy that my takeaways abt the song, tho shorter, are similar to hers...😆 dissecting BTS stuff is fun! Also, one of my favorite things abt yoongi's music is the sense of "continuity and parallels" and it's not just limited on his Agust D universe, his sentiments as Agust D ties with yoongi's growth as SUGA.. and do you know how yoongi does the "continuity" and marks his verses inside BTS discography (aside from whispering "suga" before his verses)?
*big house, big cars, big rings"
No More Dream (2013) - "I wanna big cars big house & big rings"
    Home (2019) -
"Even if we have what I wanted in my dreams
Big house, big cars, big rings
The unfamiliar feeling of missing something
For someone who has accomplished everything
But I go out the door
Since I know I have something to return to, huh"
    Interlude: Shadow (2020) -
"Try smiling, what are you hesitating for?
Wasn't this the kind of thing you were hoping for?
Or cry instead, what are you scared of?
Wasn't this the kind of thing you'd been wanting?
The life you hoped for, the life you wanted
The life you chose, you achieved everything without regrets
And on top of that, you have a big house, big cars, big rings
All the things you wanted, you've got it all
So what's the problem? Just enjoy it
Or just let it go, no? Then run, or stop
Don't whine, just choose one or the other"
    Bonus:
Intro: Skool Luv Affair (2014) - "A nice house, a nice car, although things like those cannot be happiness, I really want to give them to you"
A master storyteller indeed... and it's always so poignant..

Since you already read my thoughts on Haegeum, time for Amygdala 🤗, where do I even begin coz others already mentioned the essential infos in the prev video...I'll go w/ a different approach but lemme start with definition.
The amygdala is an almond-shaped structure that lies in the temporal lobe, lying just beneath the uncus. It's a ajor processing center for emotions. It also links your emotions to many other brain abilities, especially memories, learning and your senses. When it doesn't work as it should, it can cause or contribute to disruptive feelings and symptoms.
The "processing center for emotions" and Amygdala being yoongi's song is a very poetic relation due to the fact that the most common reason of armys who loves yoongi's music (including me) is because yoongi's music "acknowledges our pain", "helps us process our emotions", "validate our emotions", "lets us see and acknowledge realities", "reminding us no matter how dark it is, there's that light in the distance, so keep holding on".. yoongi lets us understand that we are human while keeping us on the humane path while giving us room to realize that for ourselves... I also made a twitter thread before how yoongi's musical expression focuses more, gives emphasis on "conflict phase" rather than conclusions.
Yoongi, according to popular opinion, comes off as someone who doesn't give a f- , a nonchalant person, BUT his music, how he thinks, his unspoken subtle actions says otherwise. Something I realize is that yoongi has a very sensitive, enduring and sentimental spirit (I wanna add on this, but I’ll try not to stray from the main topic). Contrary to the anecdotes that we heard regarding his accident, the scene in the MV was toned down, the actual accident was severe where he woke up with the car wheel between his head and shoulder. About his mother's heart condition, he also shared it in another BTS song called "Moving On (2015)", what I got from this case, was yoongi was carrying a guilt bcos he thinks he contributed in his mother's faint heart bcos his mother went thru heart surgery on the day he was born. Army thinks that the time when yoongi had to go back to Korea during their Bon Voyage in Malta, is when he got the news of his father's diagnosis. Yoongi went on for years keeping his injured shoulders secret and make nothing big deal abt it after he revealed it while drunk (Burn the Stage docu), continuing to do strenuous dances and activities until his shoulders finally gave up (army understood how severe it was upon replaying MOTS ON:E concert yoongi focused fancams).. through the years we saw him having plasters all over his shoulders in some concert behind the scene footages, holding his shoulders often, (things that is also common w/ other members), bringing pain relievers in their trips as members would comment but we think nothing of it coz he shared nothing, didn't complain abt it or let us see his pain, doesn't have any footages of it in behind the scenes or docus (maybe purposely not included in the cut coz he doesn't want or he didn't even show his pain w/ the members).
Out of the members, I see yoongi having the most and thickest defense mechanisms w/c the amygdala in our brain plays a big role to. He said before that even while in the moment of triumph and happiness his mind always thinks abt the possible negative things. If you remember in TRoB, on the time they had their US debut w/ Fake Love, he admitted that he cried, he said "I cried not because I thought we made it, I was afraid of the big pressure that is about to come".

Thank you for taking your time to watch this explanation! I totally love her accent 💜
Sorry about a long rant, from this point.
Disclaimer: I don't know the girl group or a singer involved, I only know the male actor.
About how fans pressure idols and push them into personas they (fans) created for them (idols, artists). There was a huge scandal on social media, it even leaked into my feed, that's why I know about it. One of the singers from a girl group announced she's dating an actor. Both are well loved and known to the public. It shouldn't be a big deal, young girl dating a young guy, normal. Unfortunately, obsessive fans pushed so hard on the group, the label, there were threats left and right, poor girl had to APOLOGISE for dating 🤯 I mean what?! In what world is it normal to guilt trip someone (you admire?!) who is just dating!
This situation above is self-indulgence by the "fans". Just because, they like her, just because she's an idol, or just because they can... It so sad. In a normal world this situation shouldn't have happened, because people are free to do whatever they want, as long as they're not breaking the law.

Hmm I think it is very nice explanation video.
But, I think bc she dosen't talk about fact that the last standing Agust D, at the end of Haegum, dosen't have a scar, it takes away from story, and it is part of answer to your question "why to tell similar story again", bc people offten make the same mistakes, they try to learn, but even if for awhike they can be better, more then offten, they go back to old ways.
But going more deep into it.
For me the stories are so different even uf concept is similar, simply bc time goes on, in Daechwita at the end "Boss" wins with the King, but he was still scared, in theory he was better vesion, but in reality he also become mad like king by coruption, etc, and fir me he is the detective in the Haegum, like we see his story now, he had still the scare and he has position of law, power that tell us he should be "good guy" but he isn't, he is involved with mob, but this thietf version, without scar wins, bc he lets go of all the things that made another versions to become "mad", corupted, not fair, angry. He lets go and he is free, that is why he puts money on fire and he was chill in bath with gun pointing on bc he has clear mind, he isn't scared, he isn't angry, mad and for sure he isn't greedy, he simply doing what he wants and feel. That is why he dosen't have a scare and they let him go at the end.
For me if you use freedom as means for your interest, conflict, agression, hatred, blame, in argument, to trade anothers badly, etc, it isn't freedom anymore.
