FYI in order to find the Classic Automations in 2022, you need to chat with the Mail Chimp help bot. Type "I want to create a Classic Automation" and follow the bot's instructions. Remember to always Select "Classic Automation" and "Create Classic Automation" buttons when prompted. Then you will be offered a button to open the Classic Automations in another window :)
Thank you so very much for this video! I honestly wasted hours trying to set this up until I searched RUclips and found your video. I just followed your video and easily got my lead magnet set up.
Hi Whitney! I watched probably dozen of videos that showed up in the search, trying to figure out tagging, and connecting all the dots in the process of making a landing page and email automation. It was pretty frustrating, as they were way too long and not to the point. Then I found this video of yours, which explained exactly what I was looking for in the best and simplest way. Thanks!
Super helpful! Thank you so much. I've made other lead magnets with Mailchimp before, but it took ages to figure out. This video makes it so easy and clear. Really appreciate it.
I am SOOO grateful for this video!! I've been trying for so long to figure this out. Thank you a million times for this clear video! It was exactly what I needed!!🤩
I feel so relieved to have found this, thank you so much! Quick question if anyone knows the answer - Whitney mentioned the difficulty of docs etc and that it's best with pdf; how does it deal with lead magnet (such as a guide or checklist) created in canva?
Hi Whitney! Best video on the topic yet! Thank you! One question: with what you just demonstrated, do all the multiple lead magnets go to one list? In other words, I have two separate lead magnets but I want all my leads going to one list and if the same contact downloads both of my magnets, I don't want any duplicates. Does the method that you have shown deliver that? Thank you 🌸
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, this method allows you to have one list, no duplicate subscribers, and the same person can sign up for multiple freebies without a problem. It’s all about using the tags to tag people who sign up for the freebie, then using those tags to send the freebie 👍
@@Thehouseoftatum think you can use a different tag (name) for diff freebies, in this way when you setup automation email you setup to the specific tag… worse case try out using your own email or frd email sign up and see what happens
Thanks for the comment! Sorry for the delayed reply, but just grab the link to the landing page and add a button to wherever you want to feature it on your website, and have the button link to the landing page and open in a new window. Hope that helps!
hi thank you for the video! but did mailchimp change its set up? i cant find the classic automations when i click on automations. it takes me to journey
I couldn't find it either, but I went to campaigns and then found it under "view by type" - you can select automations there and it looks like it's the classic automation

This was SO incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for making such an informative video!!
This was exactly what I needed explained in a clear and concise way. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much everything I found was from 2016 and mailchimp looks so different now.
I LOVE your website!! Did you do the design yourself?
This was great! Thank you!
Hi Whitney, very good tutorial. You showed exactly what I was looking for. Great work
Thank you! Thank you! This answered a question I’ve had for days!

@@whitneybateson so how do we tag people? If this is an automation I’m confused on that part.

Does this still work? It was the best explanation I could find but it's from a year ago and Mailchimp has changed their rules.
So so helpful, thank you👏🏾
You are a lifesaver :)
can you create an updated version? mailchimp as updated the interface at the point where you do the automation for a tag
Thanks, great video, so helpful. And now how to connect all this to a WordPress blog/page?

hi thank you for the video! but did mailchimp change its set up? i cant find the classic automations when i click on automations. it takes me to journey
How do you put a tag on a pop up so you can automate sending them a lead magnet you promised in the pop up?
The classic automation option is not in my account'

@@aaralynshirimusic7091 I was going crazy because I couldn't see the classic option! Thank you so much for the help!
Thanks, very useful but I dont think there are any free journeys for new mailchimp customers - the automations all seem to be paid :-(
Thank you sooooo much!!!
