That was the initial idea to have Christian Bale return as Batman for BVS as they had subtly set up the DCEU to be the same as the Nolanverse by including a Wayne industries satellite with the Nolanverse Wayne Industries logo in Man of Steel but Nolan said he didn't want his films to be part of the same universe hence why Batman was recast. That intro alone has me at the edge of my seat. (I think that undoing the happy ending from the trilogy is kind of on brand for Batman and Catwoman's relationship.)
@@generalobiwankenobi8265 Sssshhh, there are Batman FANATICS that like to disregard Bob Kane and Bill Finger's ORIGINAL version of Batman who kills - going so far as to fight you by saying it's not who Batman "really" is.
This version of the film would’ve been fantastic even with Affleck as Batman. Well done Walter, well done. This was infinitely better than what we actually got.
You sure you watched BvS??? If you watched the ultimate edition you can see that all the characters motivations are very clear. Not saying that the movie is perfect but your argument is very much wrong.
I have been arguing (with friends) how more connected we’d feel to this story if Bale was Batman. We grew up with him. Saw him begin, fail, and rise again. The best thing about your rendition was how we could actually feel and relate to why both characters were fighting; meaning we could now agree with both of their motivations to “do what’s right” and fight each other. You have now idea how badly I want to see this film!! Thanks!
In my opinion, it would have been even more awesome. With both Christophan Nolan and Zack Snyder working together to bring together the ultimate DC Universe films to a whole new level. Except one problem, Heath Ledger. He was the perfect Joker. I could have imagined Heath Ledger's Joker and Jesse Eisenberg Lex Luthor creating a League of Super-Villains called the Injustice League along with Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke. I could also Imagined an abusive relationship with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn if Heath Ledger was still alive today.
David Goyer wrote this and Man Of Steel, as well as The Dark Knight Trilogy, so there's a connection. If Bale had been up for it, they totally could have gone from one to the other. My only question about this script is what happens to Selina Kyle? Bruce I guess breaks off their relationship, and she just walks away? Or does Catwomen rejoin the fight?
I can see her dawning a Catwoman outfit to help Bruce or encourage Batman to do the right thing , she can also work with Lois Lane so she wouldn’t get involved with the Epic Fight that will happen.
@@SeanWheeler100 15:32 he had it set up because batman sets the fight in what he assumes is an abandoned building but has two homeless kids living there.
@@stateofhibernation Okay, so he had those kids as a Chekhov's Gun. Still think what Zack Snyder did about Lex Luthor holding Martha Kent hostage was better. We don't need two random kids we don't know even if we got one glimpse of them. I remembered reading comments of the video clip of the fight where one user did not recognize Lois Lane and just mistook her for "Random Woman." If it really was some random lady and not Lois to tell Batman that Martha is Superman's mother's name, the scene really would have been ruined because some stranger shouldn't pop up automatically knowing who Superman's mother is. But with Lois, since she had Man of Steel and all the prior scenes in BvS to flesh out her character and because she was there when Lex Luthor explained his evil plan, she followed Clark to where he was fighting Batman. An established character like Lois stopping the fight is better than a couple of Chekhov kids stopping it.
Hey sean read your comment and i have to disagree with you. Those kids basically represent all of the people on earth that sees superman as a hero and not the enemy that batman assumes is.
My Fan Scription ideas: What if Finn and Rey were combined into one character? What if Thor was the Villain and Loki was the hero? What if Belle didn't fall in love with the Beast? What if Gaston was cursed at the end of Beauty and the beast (Live Action) instead of killed? What if Ariel didn't meet Eric until after she sold her voice to Ursula, for 1 year on land?
Idea: how about a finale movie for Gargoyles? Solving all loose ends for Demona, king Arthur, the new Olimpians, Cold Steel and of course the Manhattan clan.
Why can't the Gaston idea also happen in the animated version? If you take Eric out of the equation, what drives Ariel to make the deal with Ursula in the first place? Sure, she was curious about our world, but to that extent?
@@VicenteTorresAliasVits I kind of like Live Action Gaston more. He has a more interesting history (He was in the army) and he actually seems like he cares for Belle more than seeing her as a prize to win. Ariel's motivation to leave is the same. She wants to experience life on land and her father destroys her stuff. Ariel's room of things was really special to her and she believes that parents are kinder to their daughters on land (she sings about it in part of your world). I think that's enough motivation for a movie.
For that first idea, look for Fix The Flick. His Sequel rewrites might interest you. That second idea could work for the first Thor film. I would imagine that banishment to Earth never happened, because Thor successfully makes a war with the Frost Giants and his own arrogance causes his downfall, mirroring either Odin or even Hela. I could see Loki being a reluctant hero, because he might still have questions on his mind and not sure if it would be as intense as the original. Thoughts, anyone?
I think it could've worked to incorporate Nolan's Batman into the DCEU the same way the Arrowverse started. The first two seasons of Arrow were also grounded in realism before slowly introducing Arrow to the fantasy elements of the superhero genre.
Now that was the version of the movie I wanted to see. Just the way the story was told it was captioning compelling and all out action packed fun. From the characters introduction through the storyline to the focus of their actions and growth would have made me sit and wait in anticipation for the justice League movie to carry on the story from here and not what we were left with. Great job!

Bale would have fit perfectly, given that Snyder was re-creating Nolan's atmosphere in MoS. Not to mention, Bale's Batman was far more level headed and intelligent than Affleck's.

I don't think it feels like a great movie. But its a very solid and enjoyable one. I appreciate the most is its about Batman v Superman. Not Dawn of Justice. It feels like a proper fight and resolution instead of Luthor manipulating it. The resolution is explained better. People would get the point that Batman understands that he has gone too far. No more jokes about our moms have the same name. That was not the point. Diana gets a purposeful role. Lois isn't kidnapped for the umpteenth time. The stupid desert subplot is cut. This is good.
This was....so well done!! I think the integration of the Nolan characters and Gotham, and their known history and relationship to Bale's Batman, add more gravitas to the story. On a side note, I'm one of the very few who didn't have a problem with the "Martha" moment in the fight, but I also like your version of the resolution.
Now Christopher Nolan said that Superheroes like Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman can't exist in the Dark Knight movies. Because their appearance alone is too fantastical compared to Batman's hard work.
I remember hearing Christian Bale was asked to return in BvS at one video. Never heard about it again, but it made sense, since MoS resembled similar tone to the Dark Knight trilogy and the way it described Batman as an older guy aand post Robin.
I've heard that Nolan wanted to keep the dark knight trilogy grounded and said that none of the other dc characters who aren't batman related didn't exist in that universe
@@Alejandroigarabide What does that have to do with Nolan's choice to make his Batman trilogy a stand alone series? The reality is Batman works way better as a solo act away from his more colorful and godlike DC counterparts than he does with them if we're being honest. Seriously, he's the money behind the Justice League, that fights off global, domestic and cosmic threats on a regular basis, yet in spite all his money to help the League fight off all these interdimensional, global and/or cosmic threats, he still can't seem to get rid of crime in Gotham City? The bottom line is Batman is way more interesting when he's not associated with his DC counterparts, but that's just me. That's why any attempt to make Batman work in any shared universe with Superman, Wonder Woman and etc may work, but it'll never be as great as how Keaton mesmerized audiences in the 80's and early 90's, nor will it ever reach the levels that Nolan and Bale's Dark Knight trilogy reached.
@@thewolfofwallstreet627 I respectfully disagree. In my opinion any super hero can work well either in a solo film or as part of a team, it all depends on the execution. Badly executed any concept can suck. Batman worked great in the Justice League series and its sequel JL: Unlimited, yet Justice League (the film) was disliked by most fans, me included. Same basic concept, different execution. Nolan's Batman would have worked great in BvS in my opinion IF the movie had also been well executed. All in all, Nolan's Batman is in my opinion the best Batman and would have improved the DCEU, even if more changes would have been necessary to make the DCEU actually good. It wasn't nice of Nolan to deny a future to that version of the character but that doesn't mean I dislike the guy, or his movies, or deny his genius filmaking. I just strongly dislike one artistic desicion he made. Of course you are welcome to disagree.
@@Alejandroigarabide Nolan definitively said his Batman was meant to be as grounded in reality as humanly possible; hence why the Dark Knight trilogy focused on how Bruce being Batman for years affected him psychologically, emotionally and even physically. It wasn't meant to set up any kind of expanded cinematic universe. Seriously, you're acting like all superhero films need to be part of some shared universe, when they don't. They just need to tell good stories. That's all. I don't need films like "The Joker" to tie into the events of "Batman v Superman", nor "Suicide Squad." I just want it to be a great movie, and it was. Not all comic book based films need to be connected to some shared universe. Plus, "Iron Man" (the first mcu film ever made) came out literally at the exact same year as "The Dark Knight." Nobody knew that cinematic universes for superhero films would work back then, so you can't act like creating a cinematic universe as early as 2008 should've been a no brainer for Nolan and WB because the truth was nobody knew what Marvel was doing with Iron Man was going to work. Back in the earlier years of Hollywood. you'd rarely have studios plan out films for a franchise for the next ten to fifteen years like Marvel Studios has done and continues to do this day. Back then, the idea was absurd and unheard of. Now, it's considered smart because Marvel Studios made it work. Yeah, it's easy for people like you to sit there, and pretend along with everyone else in the peanut gallery, to say how Nolan didn't make his trilogy connect to the DCEU, or make his trilogy set up a larger universe for pretentious reasons, but again unless you were a psychic back in 2008, you and nobody else knew what Marvel Studios was doing using Iron Man to set up a bigger cinematic universe was going to work. And I can almost guarantee if Iron Man, Hulk, and any other marvel film produced afterwards would've failed, then we wouldn't be talking about the mcu at all, nor would there be a DCEU either. Also you are aware that in "The Dark Knight Rises", Bale's Batman was literally diagnosed with having cartilege problems in one of his knees, as i believe the doctor said he didn't have any in his knee, so he had to use a special device to be able to walk in the movie. You seriously think a guy who needed a special device to help walk since he has no cartilege in his knee would be able to go toe to toe with superman in a fight, or help him later one fighting doomsday if they still gone that route? The bottom line is if Bale's batman wouldn't made much sense being in bvs because of his knee problems. And secondly, the DCEU suffered for a lot of reasons. Many of which had nothing to do with Nolan, or his decision not to make his batman series connect to any other dc property.

Here's an idea for a future episode, since we're in the mood of bringing back the old to stand with the new. What if Toby MacGuire's Spider-Man was in Captain America: Civil War (and thus the Spidey of the MCU)? I'll admit, I got the idea from watching an old video by Bob Chipman from a few years back, but I still like to think about how that could play out. Give an explanation as to why he's been MIA since around the time the Avengers formed, give him some moments to shine in the airport fight but still show that he's kinda outta practice, and maybe, just maybe, set up his full retirement and the introduction of a live action Mile Morales
That was thoroughly enjoyable!! Definitely could have vastly improved BvS if they had done this, or at least taken the idea even if they didn’t want it to be a follow up to the Nolan Batman exactly, maybe just small Easter eggs
Then it would’ve been released in 2010. Here’s what the timeline would’ve looked like... 2005: Batman Begins. 2006: Superman Returns. 2008: The Dark Knight. 2009: The Man of Steel. (planned.) 2010: Batman v Superman. (planned.)
Nitro Noah - Believe it or not, had the Superman Returns sequel not been canceled, the villain would’ve been Braniac who would’ve downloaded himself into Superman’s son Jason. Superman would’ve made the ultimate sacrifice by killing his own son in order to save the world. There could’ve been a huge fight in Metropolis that could’ve tied right into Baleman v Super-Routh, like how there was for the actual BVS.
While I don’t love Bale’s Batman like most people do, I thought this was a much better script than what we got in BvS. Personally, I prefer Batfleck over Batbale any day of the week. The main issues I had with BvS were, Superman was too damn depressing, Lex Luther being more like Riddle than Lex, and shoving in too much into one movie. This script solves all of those issues. So big thumbs up lad 👍🏻
@@srstriker6420 I would love to see that as well, considering that could continue on with The Amazing Spider-Man Movies and would possibly give Andrew a good 3rd Movie.

This was legendary! Justice league next pls!!! Oh and pls add character names to match with actor voices in the credits. I'd like to know who voiced who.
I enjoyed this so much more than the final film, even the Ultimate Edition. And I feel the Ultimate Edition is a good film, but it feels like a film that should be fourth or fifth in a film series, not second. As a fan, I’ll never forgive Warner Bros for not laying the basic groundwork and wasting two years between Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. Before Man of Steel was shot, they should’ve known going forward if they would continue with the Nolan version of Batman or start fresh. And if they were to start fresh, they should’ve been working on a Batman film to release during those two years between MoS and BvS. Even more, they should’ve worked on either a Flash or Aquaman movie during that time period as well. My biggest cringe with BvS is the copious amounts of forced world building. I liked how you had Lex as the audience knows him (not saying there can’t be variations but Lex needs to have a certain sense of refinement about him) and simplified the story to focus on a more natural means for Batman and Superman to come to blows. So much of the actual film just felt like padding and I was glad you got rid of it. The ending feels a little anti-climatic but I do appreciate that it doesn’t follow the traditional action beats of heroes rallying together. The ending feels true to each character and makes me want to know what the next chapter of this story will be.
@Daniel W. Wright I’m right there with you, Warner Bros were so greedy in rushing to get the Justice league movies going to challenge the avengers billion dollar movies they flunked everything. Just follow MCU blueprint and build it up. As Avengers was ending the DCU should have been starting. There was no need to rush, we needed 2 Batman movies and MoS 2 then BvS before even thinking of the JL. I wanted to see a unhinged Batman who operates outside the Superman led JL in their first movie, a man who the JL don’t know is good or bad, because he sees them all as a threat or have had bad run-ins in the past.
Daniel W. Wright This idea that WB has to do anything like what Marvel did is in and of itself narrow-minded. The plan, at least from Zack’s viewpoint was to follow Man of Steel with Batman as the antagonist of the next film. They never intended to do what Marvel did so using them as a metric is shallow. Not to mention the comment about Lex having to act a certain way for the sake of the audience or whatever.
Well, despite some hiccups still inherent to this story being told, it hangs together pretty well, and much more so than what we got. Though I am in some ways glad that this iteration of the Dark Knight wasn’t mixed into the DCEU [to potentially sully its reputation].
I loved the video but I would have kept the ending to tdr. In this Bruce would have changed his name and gone into hiding. Now married to Catwoman and has a kid Damian Wayne. He still keeps in contact with Alfred who is now the new CEO of Wayne enterprises. Instead of Bruce's friend dying in the beginning it's Alfred who dies. This would be a damn good motivation for Bruce to come out of retirement to want revenge on Super-Man. He leaves his wife and son and returns to Gotham. He meets up with John Blake/Robin who has been working solo since Bruce's retirement. Bruce dawn's the cape once more and him and Robin team up to try to kill Super-Man. From here the this can be reworked to fit into the story you told.
I like your proposal for the first part. If Christian Bale would have accepted to character Batman again, the audience could understand Bruce´s missing, and feel connected with his motivations to be against Superman.
The problem is that we as the audience didn’t get a movie with Bat-fleck for us to bond with him as we did with others. I like Batfleck bc of where the source was from. YOUR version was fantastic!!
Here is the one problem I have with this idea.. Bale's Batman is so realistic, that I just can't imagine him as fighting these super beings and planet destroying monsters...
Batman Begins had the immortal Ra's al Ghul and fear toxin inducing Scarecrow as it's villains. The Dark Knight had Harvey Dent survive having half his face burned off. And Batman had a lot of advanced tech throughout the Dark Knight trilogy like using every cell phone for a sonar device to spy on everyone. I think after a crazy clown, Batman could deal with aliens. How realistic is a guy dressing up as a bat to beat up criminals and speeding a street-illegal tank with approval of the police commissioner who he constantly disappeared from mid-conversation?
@@SeanWheeler100 I think what he's trying to say is that the dark knight and the DCEU are two different universes with pretty different tones and while the dark knight delt with some pretty fantastical concepts I also think having a character like superman wouldn't fit the dark knight universe while things such as scarecrows toxin being a little bit more grounded in reality.
@@bjrnhalfhand2258 Why? Because it's possible if scientists could get the right chemicals for a hallucinogen drug? Well, maybe aliens could invade one day and the reason it hadn't happened yet is because the universe is so big that they never found Earth?
One addition I'd make: to the scene where Batman is reflecting after meeting the kids, I would have these words echo in Batman's head. "You either die a hero, or live to see yourself become a villain."
that martha scene complete remaster you did in this fanscript is actually very DC comics like and would have been way superior motivator that just the mention of name of batman's passed mother...
My script would be that Selena was in Metropolis when Zod attacks. She dies in the City. Bruce blames Superman and turns into the psycho batman we see in bvs. Makes a new Batman suit ( the bvs suit ) and voilà. I love Ben Affleck as Batman, infact he is my favourite Batman but using Bale would be better for continuity as his batman would mean something to the fans. However what we got was epic as well.
I love this version. But I think you'd have done well to have included the themes of the Dark Knight trilogy a bit more, particularly "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"- especially as 'Bruce Wayne' is dead but gradually sees Batman become a monster. That quote would have been perfect in the scene when the children show up to help Superman. I'd have liked to have seen his internal conflict regarding leaving Selina behind in Europe a bit more as well.
As much as I like Bale’s Batman, he just wouldn’t fit in a larger universe. Also, imagine the two in a fight, if Bale’s Batman had problems with dogs, how would he go up against Superman?

I have been arguing (with friends) how more connected we’d feel to this story if Bale was Batman. We grew up with him. Saw him begin, fail, and rise again.
The best thing about your rendition was how we could actually feel and relate to why both characters were fighting; meaning we could now agree with both of their motivations to “do what’s right” and fight each other.
You have now idea how badly I want to see this film!! Thanks!
I imagined this as the continuation of "what if joker was in dark night rises"
Well, your scene with the two boys, Bruce realizing (or rather believing) he's a full-fledged monster, had me in tears. 😢
That’s what I imagined too, but my idea is a little different.
You could have the joker dead and maybe harley becomes the new princess of crime.
I think someone else would probably play Lex instead of Eisenberg, like Billy Zane
I hope she stands on bruces side - to be one thing in his life which still gives bruce some sense in his life.
I can see her dawning a Catwoman outfit to help Bruce or encourage Batman to do the right thing , she can also work with Lois Lane so she wouldn’t get involved with the Epic Fight that will happen.
Wow your “martha” scene with the kids is so much better than the original man it actually makes you feel something.
I liked the Martha scene. Fanscription's version could have use a flashback of Batman Begins instead of some random kids showing up out of nowhere.
"Why did you say that name?!!!!"

What if Finn and Rey were combined into one character?
What if Thor was the Villain and Loki was the hero?
What if Belle didn't fall in love with the Beast?
What if Gaston was cursed at the end of Beauty and the beast (Live Action) instead of killed?
What if Ariel didn't meet Eric until after she sold her voice to Ursula, for 1 year on land?
What if Anakin liked sand?

@hazel but it still fun to talk about
It’s hard to incorporate them into his universe because Nolan wanted a grounded, realistic Batman
Dude, you just keep getting better and better. Never stop doing these
Honestly this is one great story, well done. I'd love to see a one off graphic novel of this
Very impressed by the way you turned the actual movie into something much more believable and watchable. Kudos. 👍
Honestly, that would have been more interesting and probably would have done better as the release. Seriously good work!
@@The_Inferior_Retroman Nolan is an artist. Smart on one side and pretentious on the other.

I like this much more than the BvS we got having followed Bale’s Batman for 3 previous movies helped so much
I enjoyed this so much more than the final film, even the Ultimate Edition.
Toast960 they had a Batman film before BVS but it never went through
Passin Thru Not to rain on you guy’s parade, but everything you guys said should’ve happened is such a shallow way of thinking.
@@charliehustle3876 Why do you think them shallow?
YOUR script is far better than bvs itself
Shut up and take my money!
This would have made Batman V Superman better.
From here the this can be reworked to fit into the story you told.
this is almost what I wanted before affleck was casted as batman. Great Job!
Agreed but its still fun to imagine nonetheless

"You either die a hero, or live to see yourself become a villain."
with the exceptions of Luthor’s casting and Doomsday/Death of Superman being used too soon, the three hour version is really good I think.

This is actually... better.

Well,it's just my opinion.
