For Shimmertastic, the Caramel is next on my list, but I currently have (and love) Magenta Flash, Firefly, Tropical Glow and Brandy Dazzle! My favorite shimmer brand for flow so far that I've found:)
Love to see your Ink Collection. When I started with Fountain-pens I didn't know that there was such a thing like samples so I purchased full bottles after a while I discovered that you can buy samples. But here in Germany I discovered one onlineshop so far that sell samples and they don't have all the brands available. For some brands like Wearingeul I have to rely on RUclips videos like yours. So I'am glad that you are posting videos like this. ❤
The Iroshizuku line is one that I can hand's down say is worth paying a little extra for. They have such great viscosity, they aren't too dry or too gushy. And the take-sumi has a very subtle red sheen that I love. I've turned into a sheen hound recently, it's the primary property I look for in an ink now haha. I just love the way a page catches the light when it's full of sheening writing.
Enjoyed the video. I think most inks look so different when you use it for writing versus swatches or drawing. I find this particularly true with Ferris Wheel.
I adore Sailor Manyo Haha, I got a sample of it and I desperately need a full bottle. I also just got a sample of Nekoyanagi and I love it too. My favourite kinds of ink right now are for sure the kinds that have all these beautiful shades to them. I'm using the same notebook for my ink swatches! Thanks for sitting down and making this video for us, this was so fun to watch.
Thank you for taking us along with your ink swatching, Karyna. I’m amazed at how similar our ink tastes are … color, brands, and specific inks!! I have added a couple new inks to my list. 🌺
@@KarynaLovesToPlan Many of your favorites are mine as well. Some additions are: Noodler’s Apache Sunset, Habaneros; Robert Oster Summer Storm, African Gold; Diamine Writer’s Blood; Herbin Poussiere de Lune; Waterman Tender Purple; Rohrer and Klingner Cassia; Private Reserve Avocado, Blue Suade, Spearmint; Sailor Shikiori Tokiwa Matsu; Akkerman SBRE Brown; pilot Shikiori Fuyu-Syogun
These are great! I actually have a bunch of samples that I just got from GouletPens and PenChalet, and they include some Robert Oster, Diamine Writer's Blood, Herbin Poussire de Lune and I'm trying a few more Pilot Iroshizuku. That will be next Thursday's video!
Great video Karyna. I have over 100 bottles of ink and probably 200 samples. I love my inks! Although I like shimmer inks ok and have quite a few I’m a shading girl. Always have been. I’m also a huge fan of brown inks - I have some beautiful browns if you ever need some recommendations to replace the Herbin. I have some Noodlers I love but not many - definitely not my favorite brand. And none of their blacks made my cut for favorites. They don’t dry quickly and others just out perform them. Once my studio finish out is done I’ll be able to do a slew of swatch videos - right now my space is kind of under construction 🚧 and I have to stand to film which doesn’t work great for swatching. I’m so glad you got into fountain pens so we can share another passion! I will say you get better at knowing what impulse inks will be love gets easier the longer you use FPs. I’ve used them since childhood.
You are a huge influence to me with fountain pens and inks for sure! I love watching your older videos and cannot wait to see newer FP content from you. I may take you up on the brown inks recommendation. I was tempted to sell the Cafe des Iles, but my husband says he may try it and see if he likes it. I did end up selling the Noodlers Borealis Black but will keep Lexington Gray. I'm so happy to have found this FP community - I love hearing everyone's recommendations and favourites!
❤ this video. I absolutely fell in love with the Diamine Enchanted Ocean and Night Sky and now I must get my hands on some. Iroshizuku Kon-peki was my first bottled ink, I still have it and I love that it hasn't dried out after years!
You said you couldn’t remember what Ina-Ho translates to, so I looked it up and it translates to “rice ear” which is a yellowy-brown ochre kind of color. The other Iroshizuku ink you mentioned is Murasaki-Shikibu, a purplish plum color. While both those colors are pretty colors, I’m really drawn to red inks (which I have a lot of. Hehe! 😅). I love the Iroshizuku line, and it’s DEFINITELY worth paying a bit more for! It’s ok if you can’t pronounce the names right, most people who don’t speak Japanese can’t 😅 I don’t speak Japanese, so I butcher these names all the time. I still want to buy more inks from Pilot’s Iroshizuku line 😁
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I’m sure it took a ton of time. Having ink all over your hands is a right of passage when playing with our inks. ✍️ I’m contemplating getting a pilot decimo pen.
I really love the shimmer or shine inks! I added a couple of yours to my list to get some samples! I have about 30 samples that I keep switching between! I do really love the Diamine Shimmer Peacock Flare, Frosted Orchid, Purple Pazzazz, and J Herbin Vert Atlantide. I have a few of the Vinta inks as well that I like!
I am going to be in Toronto in September and hope to visit Wonder Pens in person!! As for pens, I can see how some collectors like having versus using. Which ones do you “just have”? 🙂
@@KarynaLovesToPlan It's the BEST store (and unfortunately not too far from where I love, so... temptation). I do use most of my pens on rotation, but my TWISBs Eco are mostly for having - not due to be beautiful, alas. I have rheumatoid arthritis and for some reason, they're difficult to use for me. Just bought my first Sailor Pro Gear Slim and I'm in LOVE!
I just discovered this wonderful video so sorry for giving you such a tardy recommendation but I think you should definitely get the Iroshizuku Ama Iro. It's pretty much an intense, deep cerulean blue that I praticularly love writing with
Noodler's is a conflicted brand, but if there's one ink from them that I recommend its Navy. It doesn't sheen much (I'm not a sheen person, particularly in blues) but it shades beautifully on so many papers.... i love the multi coloured shading inks, I have tried not to buy many inks (after 9 years in fountain pens I have a lot of lifetimes worth of ink) but i might need one or teo of those inks. Also Ina-Ho before its gone 🥰.
I am not an expert on glass pens at all. This is a good beginner glass pen. There are some that are far more expensive than this. You should look at InkyRocks - she put out a video on glass dip pens that is really helpful!
Immediately liked. Immediately yes. I’ve seen what I needed to see. ❤

I do love the Iroshizuku line! I have a sample of the Take-Sumi which I am excited to try! I will be swatching that shortly.
I love the sheening inks too right now.
Enjoyed the video. I think most inks look so different when you use it for writing versus swatches or drawing. I find this particularly true with Ferris Wheel.
I completely agree! I personally wish that companies had more writing samples of their inks - especially Ferris wheel press
What an amazing collection!! Thanx for sharing!!

Loved this video!! Don't ever worry about long videos, this was so much fun to watch ☺️ x
My favorite video so far, and I love your videos.
Wow, thank you! That means a lot, Susan!
Just wow! Thanks for swatching all your inks for us to see! I am going to try some new ones now!
Have fun!

I sat down with a cup of tea and watched. Lovely collection! And now I have a few ideas of what I would like to get next. Happy Easter!
Ah thank you Laly! Happy Easter!
Great video and very helpful. Thank you for mentioning the types of nibs best for each kind of ink.
Glad it was helpful!

Ann ink journal! 💡Why didn’t I think of that? Thanks for the idea! Love from the Philippines! 🇵🇭❤️
Thanks for watching!!
Wow. What a beautiful journey. I would love to hear how many of your pens you ink up and how you decide which colors!
Thank you!
Thank you! I have videos of my currently inked - you should check them out!

Amazing Karyna TFS ❤
Thank you Maria!!
Hearing you namedrop my favourite stationery store (Wonderpens) was very cool! PS some pens are for using. some are just for having. ;)

Where did you buy those cute writable sticker bookmark tabs?
They are from TheCoffeeMonsterzCo.

Yes I've got Ama Iro in my cart! Will get it soon! Thank you!
Absolutely loved the video! What are your other sections other than bottled ink?
I will be showing this ink journal set up in a couple weeks. But it will include currently inked, bottled ink swatches and samples swatches.
@@KarynaLovesToPlan love it!
My sister asked me "Just how many bottles does one person need?" Silly Question!!!
🤣🤣🤷🏻♀️
Since youre a member of the vert empire (herbin -> who knew…) whats your darkest green?

Another great recommendation. I already do have a bottle of Ina-Ho and I love it!
Hi! From the Philippines here. Maybe you can try Vinta Inks. Their Fairytale collection is to die for 🥰🥰🥰
I've seen them and they are stunning! I can't find them here in Canada yet but I'll try order samples from Vaness in the US.
Are all glass dip pens pretty similar or are some better than others?

I think some are better than others. I’ve seen some negative experiences with the low tier ones.
Beautiful collection. I loved every minute! 🌸 But I'm also upset because now my broke ass really, really wants that Sailor Manyu Haha. 🥲
