The way too early "forecasts" were calling for 6" - 9" in SE North Carolina. Those same forecasts are now calling for a dusting to 1". Six inches + would be a once in 50 year storm for this area. In Jan, 2018, we got 5. The last time this area (Jacksonville) saw 6" or more was in 1980 when they got 20!" I knew it was unrealistic. I do forecasting as well, not online and unless this thing bumps North a bit... I think 2 inches is generous, and that's a shame. I think you're right on the money with your forecast. My gut feeling for Thurs into Friday is cold and rainy with mixed precipitation along the SE NC coast. (likely sleet or freezing rain). I sure hope I'm wrong though. A few additional inches of snow might make up for the lack of it overnight on Tuesday. 🤞

My sentiments exactly. I'm in SE NC. Way too early forecasts were calling for 6 - 9 inches of snowfall. I haven't seen that in over 30 years (including living in Massachusetts. I knew that wasn't reality, but you can't help but dream. Now, we're all the way down to a dusting. I've always said: "If is going to be cold, it might as well snow". I hate freezing cold for the sake of being freezing cold!
I live in coastal NC I have to crawl around on the ground working,it’s pretty but miserable to work in and worse after it melts and saturates the ground.
Cold breeze here today, Gerald. I do believe its the calm before the storm...Richmond, Tx here. Love your enthusiasm! Ill definitely keep you updated on the weather situation here! You're doing a great job!
West Central Georgia along the Alabama border looking for a good snow Tuesday afternoon. I am reminded of the March 93 blizzard in Columbus, GA. Eat a peach for peace ✌️
I was 9yrs old when the 93 blizzard hit in Clayton county on the Southside of Atlanta. Me and my dad rolled the bottom ball of our snow man around the yard. It was so big it took 3 grown men to get the middle ball and top ball on. The thing was still hanging on for a couple weeks after the storm. I'm in Heard Co now about 1hr north of you I'd love for my kids to get to something like the like 93 blizzard. To get a new picture of a huge snowman with my father and kids would be a blessing. I didn't know Columbus got hit with the blizzard in 93 thats wild!
We got 12 inches just North of Harrisburg, PA in the mountains higher elevation. All the models were way off, they said 3-5 inches. Trust me I broke out my measuring tape, we got a foot. Glad I have a plow lol
As a Carolina resident, I don't know when all this is showing up.But all next week's gonna be cold but aint nothing. There's no precipitation... So I won't know at least until Monday if it is gonna snow again but hell.We just got rid of the snowfall from two weeks ago from the rain
Have an inch in driveway so far. Very fine snow. Easy to sweep and better than shoveling or snowblowing. It’s really gonna have to come down to get past a couple inches here in NW CT.
Jey Gerald for mid Atlantic early feb. Most likely rain. In southeast Pennsylvania were at total of 3 inches out of 2 major storms. Nothing hits this area. Oh just rain. Take care great videos.
@@benfranklin3963 People in Alabama go nuts when it snows because it never snows and it’s a different kind of snow! It’s literally dangerous and the entire areas shut down. Also, people aren’t acclimated to this kind of weather in the Deep South, no doubt the way you would not be able to tolerate the heat and humidity we endure. You wouldn’t be able to breathe and would sweat buckets just walking to your mailbox
@SummerBreeze4022 Buttercup I have been in Alabama my entire 70 years. I have worked outside most of my life. I know what it's like here. That's why I know people here are stupid as a brick when it comes to snow and ice.
After a week of great trends, it seems the storm is trending away from us in Augusta, GA. The last storm was just north of us and this storm will be just south. Its been nearly 10 - 16 years since we get more than 1" of snow that was not mostly sleet or ice. Its extremely disappointing to wait so long and then barely miss out from both systems but that's how it goes. Hopefully we get another shot in the next couple of years.
I love your presentation, you should be able to do whatever you want to do when you graduate, I hope you stay on RUclips The NAM model keep bouncing around
Barnesville, GA, just north of Macon. Yeah, it'll be 80 degrees by 3pm tomorrow. I will start off wearing long johns and thick heavy layers of clothes and have to change into shorts by 3 in the afternoon.
Well it was a BUST for Baltimore Maryland area. We had snow begin around 2 hours later than other cities in Maryland. Air/ground temp hovered right at 32*. It snowed decently hard around 5:30. We have about 2" of mostly snow with a thin layer of sleet at the bottom. Forecast showed 4"-6" for the Baltimore area. Unfortunately the storm tracked further south and east than anticipated and left us RIGHT on the edge of the snow bands. What a let down. 😢
@SeeSomething_SaySomething I'm about 25 minutes from Huntsville. Wasn't heavy, but nice size flurries. Still spitting a little as of this moment. May be in isolated areas.
Armageddon for those not used to snow and cold?? Currently in the Thumb of Michigan, it is calm with a temp of 14°...single digits are expected tonight. To the smart people who stay home, throw on the extra blanket, relax, and sip hot tea...to the crazies who are out...Good luck, & stay safe!
What I find very odd is that the National weather service has snowfall percentage maps that seems to differ greatly from what the models are showing. They have Augusta, Barnwell and Columbia with a higher chance to accumulate 6" or more. Without a pretty decent northwest trend, none of the models are showing that kind of potential spread.
I moved from Newengland to escape this kinda weather. I'm aproxan hour and a half north of Anlanta. I don't want cold or snow. Leave it in New Enland where it belongs. Thank you cards 😢
I guess recording this at half time was good luck for your Eagles! 😆 Thanks for the forecast. It was cold and windy but sunny here in the Midlands of SC.
I really enjoy your updates, Gerald. Watching you from the Western Southern Tier of New York State, about 60 miles south of Buffalo. Good luck with your career.
SNOW...started during the football game in Philly around 4:00PM.......TEMP dropped on Delmarva......SNOW @ 5:00PM on upper Delmarva [Chestertown,MD].........wet snow continues at sundown........joe

I'm gonna be really disappointed if we have frigid temps but no snow in Atlanta. I hate to waste cold air.
Doesn't look like North GA is going to get anything
You’re about to be real disappointed unless a dusting of too maybe an inch is exciting to you….

In coastal NC we’ve went from 8-11 inches to now possibly nothing. This totally sucks. Shoulda listened to hubby who said it would never happen
The old saying…..if it sounds too good to be true from the weather man, it usually is☃️
I live in coastal NC I have to crawl around on the ground working,it’s pretty but miserable to work in and worse after it melts and saturates the ground.

Middle on NC, warm almost 50° a gust now and then, sunny.
In Savannah I know we will get freezing rain first but hopefully that upper cold air kicks in and brings snow
Stay safe out there 🙏🏻❤️
Living in north metro Atlanta…there were white flakes coming down from the sky earlier. I want snow days!
Live in the Northwest tip of Florida! We’re not used to this very excited for this! It’s been a long time coming
We got 12 inches just North of Harrisburg, PA in the mountains higher elevation. All the models were way off, they said 3-5 inches. Trust me I broke out my measuring tape, we got a foot. Glad I have a plow lol
