God Bless Texas…! I pray for Gov Abbott as he tries to help us all!..prayers and Thank you to all the emergency partners who risk their lives to keep us safe …stay home and off the streets if you can …🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ice storms are the worst. We had a lot of out-of-state help here in NH when we had a major ice event. It took one week for some people to get their power back on.
Florida is having an unusually long cold snap for us. Nothing like the upper south and mid west but cold for us. They have falling snow and we have falling igaunas.
But do NOT place it inside your house or garage and be sure it's not venting into your house through any nearby windows, doors or other openings like vents or pipe/cable openings. Carbon monoxide poisoning is not something to play around with!!! ❤ Praying for all those in the path! ASK for help if you need it!!! 🙏🙏🙏
I know the Dallas Fort Worth area needs to invest in trucks with scoops on the front of them. Kills me that they put it off sighting that they don’t get that bad of weather, but I see states like Hawaii having them. Just sad that the ignorance of the Metroplex has in not being prepared.
@@Fiona2254 I’m from Iowa and have trucked through Texas for decades, you are correct about not many snow plows unless you go over by Amarillo, they actually get more snow than we do in Iowa. Up north we treat the roads with calcium chloride and a liquid salt mixture that is applied well before the storm hits. It dries on the road then the precipitation reactivate it which helps keep the roads manageable for a while but temperatures is everything, if it gets below zero it starts to get tricky and this mixture sure rust the hell out of the vehicles up here. Stay safe, and try to stay home.
@@texast9605 About 20 years ago I ran in ice between Austin and San Antonio, Texas dot was actually spreading coal dust and sand on only bridges and overpasses, not the roads because their supply was limited. Listening to this they just said that they do use salt brine which we use in iowa, we also use calcium chloride, both of these mixtures will rust the hell out of an automobile. Stay safe Texas!
@@richjacobs9736 Salt is the best treatment for ice that’s formed on the road, but it’s beneficial to apply what we use up here in Iowa to try to keep the roads open. We use brine which is a liquid salt mixture that is applied to dry roads well before the storm, this dries and leaves the roads white, when the snow or ice falls on it it reactivates this mixture turning it back the liquid, as long as the snow plows keep plowing, the roads are manageable, unless the temperatures dive below zero or we get an overwhelming amount of snow. We also use calcium chloride which has the same effect but it sure does rust the vehicles up here. Stay safe!
@@michaelloomis8762 I'm from Iowa and Texas is not used to this kind of weather. I have been in Texas for many years now and it makes me happy that they are taking action to pretreat the roads. I noticed on the way home from work the other night that the roads had been sprayed. Hopefully this storm comes and goes without too much damage or chaos.
Thank you very much Governor Abbott, for your work and concern for Texans. I really, really appreciate your thoughts, your consideration and your actions to protect and provide for Texans. I think you are the best, most capable and caring governor in the US. Thank you. And, thank you for mentioning Beryl. I was without power for 5 days, and I really did not understand why. I was home during the time that Beryl blew through and the winds at my house were not that high. They did blow part of my fence down…but it was 30 years old and needed to be replaced anyway. But, the fact remains that I was very disappointed that my subdivision lost power for 5 days, for what I considered minor impact winds in my area. My 20 year old roof was find. And, CenterPoint never provided us with why we lost power for 5 days. I am not impressed with them at all., Just excuses…no real accountability. I lost all my food except for canned goods. It was sad. I think CenterPoint needs to be investigated and their lack of response and preparedness should be understood and addressed. Again, thank you very much for your care and concern,🙏
This happens. Santa Ana winds are just a bish, especially when homeless people were spotted trying to light fires. It’s sad but not a first. The jet stream dips happen too. I’m sure this has happened at the same time before.
I'm glad they are taking action to pretreat the roads to help prevent accidents as much as possible. As bad as the winter storm of 2021 was, it seems to have impacted our politicians to actually do their jobs and I'm grateful for that. I pray this storm comes and goes without too much damage or chaos.
Why is a response needed? Two years ago Abbott announced that the electric grid was completely fault tolerant and redundant. No more power outages ever! 👍🏽😎 🇺🇸
@ - This was essentially a weather report. I’m still lost on the reason, unless what you are saying is ‘this makes it apparent to all that Abbott is in control and helping Texans?’

I agree with you. He’s so corrupt and his cronies are just taking so much away from Texans that citizens of Texas are either ignorant or just don’t care that they get very little out of their governor.

You have to pre-salt the roads you have to do it when it's below freezing
They've done that in Dallas area. ❤
Be careful.❤
And slow down when driving!!! There's no reason for people to drive fast other than your inpatients is the issue!
If you can buy a small generator do so

Don't you dare talk bad about Texas, leave if you don't like it
geo engineering by segments of the military all over the US snd around the world. Chem trails with radio frequencies affect the weather
Ice is invisible so slow down and use common sense and it doesn't hurt to pray either
You have to spray the roads with salt when you have ice
Texas doesn’t have that many salt trucks outside of cities. The thing to do is stay off the road unless there’s an emergency and it can’t be avoided.
We don't use salt like northern state because we really only have around 2 to 3 days that's bad.
