Nice little strategy pulling the totes aside to avoid too much "competition" with other buyers. And you made some pretty nice finds, a little bit of everything. Keep it up, and I think that I found a little jackpot for you this weekend. This item contains everything you love: the historical background, the personal aspects, a complete set of ephemera, the photographs, the dates and the names. So, it should be quite easy for you to crawl into dozens of rabbit holes during your research. I´ve never seen a complete set like this before, so it might be unique. And the topic is: KdF ! 🤔 I assume I will get the package this week, and up it goes across the ocean ! 🌍Greets from GER, u.
I am intrigued about this package! Hope that it's journey is calm! If I find a tote that I feel needs a bit more looking into, the pulling it aside method is my go-to. I pull it far enough away from the other totes that it would be fairly odd for someone to come up and just start digging in it while I'm looking. For the most part, shoppers know the "rules", but never hurts to have a bit more space to look around. Hope that you had a nice Monday!
So many stories to go with the photos. So sad that everything has gone to cellphone photos. I know it is I guess better than more things in the landfill. So many people gone and probably forgotten by the younger generation. Most don’t have any idea of how these people changed their families lives good or bad. Sort of sad. I’m glad there is someone like you Renee to care about the beauty of these things. 🩷
I dont know what those bugs are, but when I was visiting my daughter in DC, i saw one on my bed and freaked out! I'm an Alaska girl and bears dont scare me, but that bug about did me in! Why is it good for the house. I have to go back soon and it would be good to know. 😂
If it refers to the same exhibit, I went to see the treasures of Tut when it toured in Atlanta...it was worth it. Much better than the Chinese clay army 💯👍. 💕💕The MB Kermit pin...Miss Piggy is my 'spirit animal' 🤣.
I'm so glad your tote man is back. I know you missed him so much. Digging digging digging digging Renee can go a digging ya hoo! 😂. I enjoyed this you purchased some nice things. Would love to go through the photos. I love you! Stay safe, healthy, and blessed.❤❤😘💞💞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️
Hello Renee. How are you today? I’m exhausted I mowed my whole yard with a push mower because well that’s what we do. And I’ve cleaned up the house because I’ll be gone for the week, I’ll be watching the grandkids at there house this week because my daughter’s oldest son is graduating boot camp and there going to watch him and pick him up. He’s graduating high school this year and then he’ll be in the national guard. So fun week for me because they are also starting school Wednesday. It’s going to be a long week. Isn't it wonderful to finally be shivering again after a heatwave. 😄 Yippeeh, the Tote Man is back! My winner is the box with the family photos. They tell a whole story for those who listen. Too bad the family didn't appreciate them. Now they are under your care. Well done. Have a happy week! Gabriele - Berlin
As for the old family photos I don’t think it’s that the family didn’t appreciate them, there were probably just too many to keep. My parents left over 10,000 photos which I am slowly sorting it’s overwhelming. So many of them are of people no one in the family knows who they are so what’s the point of keeping them. I also have very 100 reels of old movies from 16mm to 8mm to super 8, but no way of viewing them. It’s taken me almost 8 years to sort them and I’m still not done.
Are you able to send any of the reels off to have them digitized? I know there are companies online that do that, but also I have seen (in my area) some local small businesses that also transfer to digital. Not sure of the pricing for it, but if you have some old media that you know for sure you’d like to preserve, it might be something to look into.
@@PaperandMoose We have a company called Everpresent in my town but the price is over $2,000.00 for everything I have and since I have no idea what’s on them it’s just too expensive for me at the moment being retired and living on SS. Thank you for the suggestion though.. I might check with my highschools photo department and see if they might be able to do it. I know I just can’t trash them.
@@SassySue67 You could be right. I just appreciate old black and white photos so much (maybe because I have printed hundreds of photos myself and know how much manual work went into each print). Today, 100 times more digital photos are taken. Will they still be around in 100 years?
@@SassySue67 Wow!! No I agree, that is a bit expensive especially considering you do not know what it is on them. My aunt did reel to VHS tape some years ago - played the reel to reel while recording with her video camera. One of the reels caught fire! That's one of the reasons I wouldn't want to take on that task myself.
I still love the totes treasure lol thanks great seeing you happy it’s funny the more you look the easier to see what’s actually of value Excellent that you threw the money back to the tote man😅❤❤❤😉🙏🙏🙏
I am so glad you found good things at this flea market👍😛 Those photos were everything and they fell into the right hands, your hands👐 To me, it looked like a fun digging through the boxes and bins I have never been to a flea market. We do not have anything like a flea market😍 The tote man cometh🥰
Loads of goodies! Send some of that good luck over the pond and up the Gulf Stream to me! I literally said, 'yoohoo!' when you showed that big box of photos. A few weeks ago, I found an old glass baby bottle from Germany. I don't know why I bought it. It was slim-pickings. It doesn't really fit with my lab glass collection and it isn't 'Scandi' so I won't sell it online. Some days, you just have to be prepared to walk away with nothing. Thanks for the boost of positivity!
No shame in coming home empty-handed! It happens to all of us. Some days we fill our bags at the flea market & other days it's just nice to get out & see what people have brought!
On eBay, recent solds for the set include $19.95 w/free shipping, $30 w/free shipping, & some individual glasses have sold for as low as $2 plus shipping. With those comps & some of the glasses having paint loss, I had to pass.
Hi Renee. Not so bad of a Flea Market at all. You really got some cool stuff. The photos you really have to look through and so glad the Tote Man came too. God Bless you Renee. This was fun. I had to try playing the video again. Because the audio was not working. So when I tried again you came out strong. HUGS 🤗❤️ my friend. Mari'a.❤️❤️🤗👋👋👋👋👍👍👍👍👍💕💕💕💕🌻🌺🪻🌸🌅🌅
Oh good, glad that the audio worked for you! I know sometimes I cover up the microphone on the camera with a finger, but try to catch that & make note of it. Hope that you had a great Monday!
Glad the Tote Man was back - I wonder how he turns all his stuff over every week? Or maybe he just has a very full warehouse and takes out 30-40 totes each week - and replenishes the empties over time. I agree with other commenters that the photos were the best find, but then, as you know, I really don't know much (other than what you've taught me) about post 1980s toys - or clothes from any era. I did a little reading about the Franklin-Meredith partnership but will leave that to you if you ever want to do a HBtP on it. I wonder if that plaque came from a museum. Thanks for a fun video, hope you have a great Monday, and even if you had put that Kermit thing in your mouth - it's good for the immune system :).
I did a little look about Franklin & Meredith as I was editing. "Meredith was seldom sober and did his work badly"... Where are the chairs?? I'll have to ask the Tote Man if amongst his totes there are some chairs that look antique. Can you imagine? Fortunately, the Tote Man does sell the majority of the inventory each week, so he comes home with little to sometimes none at the end of the market. He must be busy during the week to sort inventory and get ready! At first I thought the person was referring to when I smelled the scented hand sanitizer, but then when looking back at the video realized what they were referring to. Could be worse, I could be like some of the channels that eat food from the 1980s and earlier! It is interesting to see what food looks exactly the same even after so many years and also when they state that it doesn't taste bad...wow. Been sitting in a can for 32 years and can't even tell! (I will not be doing any of that on my channel haha!)
August 2024. I saw a craft I wanted to try. I checked 2 indoor dumpsters and found 20 CD's. A few weeks ago, I got some big canvases an amateur painter must have tossed. Before that, I got chains and buckles. I've never found fabric, though. Tina, Al's wife
