As a fellow RUclipsr I´m really impressed by how much material you save! I really like when you go back in time and show us how the plant looked when you got it and the updates between. I throw everything away 🤣 If a video is done and uploaded I throw it away. But I should maybe start saving it like you do. But it must take so much space on your hard drive? 😅
Good luck with your Adansoniis 😍 I named one of my Andy and he is pretty famous by now 😎 He grew pretty large but then I had to cut him so I´m waiting for him to start growing again 😊

Before I forget, sorry have so much going on with my health atm. I just want to firstly wish you and your boyfriend a very Merry Christmas & A Happy 2013. Then secondly thank you for the wonderful Christmas 🎄 content you have put out for us all. You are an absolute star Kevin and my wee mum is now also a happy subscriber, she was a professional baker all her days and she said to tell you she loved your baking 🥧 content and you definitely have a bakers patience and gentle touch. She is 100% a fan !! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE 🤗

For what it’s worth I think maybe the disproportionate growth stuff happens bc of a combination of nutrients and light. I think that combo leads to super fast green growth and the other side can’t keep up. So maybe if it was in high high light it will still do that a little bit? Or - alternate theory - maybe it’s bc there was limited energy/nutrition left bc it didn’t have leaves for photosynthesis that it only had enough energy to grow out the green part? Who knows 😂

I got my variegated adansonii in October and she was gorgeous. Since then, she's struggled and lost three or four leaves. I've moved her around to give her more humidity, but less light, and she's stable now. I really want to cut her to grow a back up plant, but so scared that the top cut will do nothing...😬

I can't believe I'm just finding your video's I absolutely adore you! I just got my "Harlequin " aka my Adansonii aurea so we shall see in 7mo if she ends up like my poor monstera albo top cutting 😭😭 RIP Beyonce 🙏

I can't even keep the regular adansonii alive 😪 I also don't have much success with wet sticks. I should try your method of placing them vertically into the rotting medium. Great video as usual, Kevin! 😃

That's so funny cause I literally JUST propagated my adansonii 😁 just the normal green one tho. She's been in a huge terrarium with an arboreal huge tarantula for about 2 years and she's been getting more and more empty along the stem in the bottom so I decided to cut her right under the lowest leaves and plant her up on her own to a moss pole 😊 she looks beautiful now, and also I did a wet stick with a long empty part that is now shooting out lots of new growth. Plus the remaining "mother stem" that's empty, still in the huge terrarium with the spider is now shooting out tons of new growths along the stem as well. Couldn't be happier!
I would really love to get the variegated one tho.. they're pretty easily available in my country, but I just have so many others I prioritize getting first that I haven't been getting one 🙈 i think im gonna have to now tho.
Thanks again for a great video! 😊❤

Omg okay I'm so glad someone else struggles with the variegated adansonii. I've tried to grow the mint version twice - the first time was via a cutting in water and it never rooted, it just molded after like 2 months of doing nothing. Second time, I put cuttings into Leca and it lost all its leaves in shock. However it rebounded and grew better, but then it got thrips a few leaves on so I had to cut away half the leaves.
I still have it but just looks funny cause I think each cutting only has 2-3 leaves. It's been a STRUGGLE and this video makes me feel better 😂 I'm sure the green form is easier but I didn't expect the variegated one to be this fussy!
Re: unequal leaves, I've never seen one THAT unequal. I am laughing at the shape 😂

Awesome, Kevin! Looks like you have revived your plant!
As I am sitting watching your video, I was fretting about my Alocasia Cyrtosperma Johnstonii leaf (she is still a seedling) being frosted a little around a portion of her because it's been very cold where I live. Even though, I have her and quite a few plants under a grow light, the heat from it was not enough. Also thought it was warm enough in the house. But i guess not. SMH So, as you were showing me your propagation I was sitting here thinking what could I do to save her/revive her so she could get toasty again....and you pulled out the containers for your plant. Light 💡 went off in my head...I thought...I don't have any containers, stores are closed because it's Christmas, but....but I do have plastic bags. So I dampened the plastic bag, dampened the plant for her regular watering, put slits in the plastic so she could get air.....covered her with it leaving plenty of room....and fingers crossed 🤞🏾... placed her back under grow lights.....now I wait....so you helped me without realizing you did. So....thank you. And Happy Holidays! ☺️

My monstera adansonii variegated was growing like crazy so I chopped it, idk what happened but they all hated me for it and and died. And now the mother plant is giving me all white leaves after two chops to get the green back. We are now on a no speaking basis, she gets watered of course but she still is giving me the all white leaves cold shoulder 😖

I have the Monstera aurea, I wouldn't say it's difficult, it's about the appearance for me, the new leaves are just pretty for such a short period of time, then the yellow starts melting seriously, then all the leaves are just looks like they are all half eaten by something. 😭
