I'm here, I made it all the way through. I have a deep appreciation for the work you put into this - I think I would have just eye-balled and then moaned when it didn't work 😁 All of these videos have been really interesting in showing how much work is involved in doing an engine swap. I've got an Oldsmobile 350DX which gives similar power to the Rover V8 petrol... could be fun...

Thank you Sir! There is a lot to an engine swap. I feel most videos glaze over it and don’t give much help. So I figured I would make a mind glazing boring version. Ha ha!!
You’re building an Olds 350 diesel engine (DX)? That’s interesting. I remember when they started making diesel engine in American cars. They were slow and didn’t last long. I remember lots of people complaining about them.

I can appreciate the effort, and can only imagine the celebration you will have when you drive this down the road the first time.👌

Hey, I'm the guy you bought the Scotty adapter from out near Gettysburg, glad to see your progress, I just bought an 87 military 90 and I'll be doing a 194 chevy 6 conversion to an Lt77, I had bought that adapter from Jim, ( Scotty) years ago, that's the very adapter Robert used to ehhhummm....build his adapters from...anyway I'll be sourcing another adapter, flywheel and pilot bushing hopefully the chevy 2 194 won't kill the lt77.
Looks like your having a fun time with the 109.

I enjoyed this video and thanks for making it; it's fascinating to see what's involved in this sort of engine swap. I have done a swap into a Defender, but that was easy by comparison with yours as I used a Rover V8 and it's matching R380 gearbox - hats off to you! I'm looking forward to seeing your engine running and to how she performs.

Thank you Sir!! It definitely takes a little thinking. Rover V8 would’ve been a nice swap. Light engine with lots of power. Did you like the swap afterwards?

@@conrad1468 I liked it a lot but it was very thirsty for petrol, so much it spoilt ownership eventually. I fitted a Mega squirt system to it hoping to improve economy and that helped, also improving performance and reliability, but in the end I was tempted by another project so sold the V8 to fund it.

@@davidbrodie5044 fuel economy is always a challenge with a V8. I’d like to make a mega squirt FI for something. It sounds interesting to build it.
