You've made a very good job of that and given me a nice bar to shoot for with my current 107" project. I find those first drives after the completion of a restoration extremely hard to beat, it just makes it all so worthwhile.Cheers from Canada!

Thanks 😀. I still have quite a bit to finish off, probably another few months. Then I have my 2A SWB that has to be done but I’m going take a break and enjoy this 107. But I am itching to get the SWB done too …..

    Wow !
    This is fantastic!
    What a beautiful machine!
Driving solid rivets is a practiced skill, much like welding. As a retired aircraft mechanic, I can appreciate your attention to detail.👍 I restored an old Jaguar many years ago and remember the day I crossed off the last item on the “to do” list. Now that I’m retired, I don’t have the patience or time to do a full restoration. Lol
So my Landy will just remain a rolling hobby.
My wife and I just watched this together and we’re both holding out breath as the roof barely cleared the garage door.
Again, beautiful job Allen. Wish I could see it in person.
    Cheers
    Lance

Thanks Lance appreciate the support. I’m itching to get this finished but the todo list is still quite long, but it will eventually be done. I hear you about the restorations, I do enjoy it but I enjoy the driving more.

Thanks for this inspiring video and all the ones leading up to it. I’m also restoring a 1955 107” utility and I’m slowly dealing with many of the same challenges that you have overcome. Regards Matthew, Canberra Australia.

What a beautiful 107?l hope I got that that rite? Anyway you have done fantastic restoration and she is probably better than when she left the factory. It's a fantastic feeling when you get to drive for the first time you really feel you achieved something. Enjoy driving and I am sure we will meet at some landrover function.

Looks and sounds great! I love the sound of the transmission on the move. I had forgotten about that sound. I purchased a number plate holder for my 107 which fits in the centre of the rear tail gate so the number plate can still be read when the tailgate is in the down position. I believe the South African and Australian specs are the same in that respect. I was lucky enough to find a brand new wiper motor still in the original box for sale on eBay in Indonesia (I won't share how much it cost me though 🤐). Apparently the passenger side wiper motor was an optional extra on new vehicles in 1955. The heater was another optional extra. I'm not as far on with my restoration as you but I am about to install the engine back into the vehicle to-day.👍 I am looking forward to the day I can take mine for its first test drive.

Thanks for the update , I love hearing about the progress in getting all the bits and pieces together because I can really identify with it. I received the seal for the roof now so will have to workout how that fits. Also have to fix my wiper motors as I have sourced all the parts

@@TheOverlandLegend Engine back in to-day, Exhaust system fitted and all new HT Leads. I fitted a new lower rubber seal on the bulkhead and a new rubber seal on the roof to windscreen frame which made the roof fitment really tight. I used some tie-down ratchet straps to help fit the roof after fitting new seals. I also smeared the seals with rubber grease.

Nice job looks fantastic. But could do without the music. I would sooner hear the engine than the music on the test drive. The music just detracts from the video and doesn't add anything for me Phil
