Thank you so much Alan for sharing your journey with us. I can't believe it has been 6 years. It has been a journey that has been fun, educational, and a testimony to your superb craftsmanship. Please keep the great videos coming so we can keep the smiles on our faces.
This is a stunning truck! The Jaguar I restored many years ago was not this involved. I can certainly appreciate the work you have put in and the amount of effort it takes to complete a project like this. So many projects get started and sold or abandoned before completion. New Exmoor seats just arrived for my Series 2A. They will be going in soon.👌 Well done my friend!👍 Cheers !
Thank you very much. Well spotted that’s a good observation. I believe that mine is correct. On the right hand side there is a little tab that is supposed to locate into that hole when the bonnet is down to stop the bonnet from sliding off. It doesn’t work very well because they seem to get bent or worn out.
It really does look magnificent. I was looking at your bonnet hinges. I have the same vehicle and my bonnet hinges are exactly the same but the other way around. i.e. the hinge with the gap is fitted to my passenger side whereas yours is fitted to the driver side. Are these designed slightly differently because the gap under my bonnet on one side is bigger than on the other side? Have I fitted mine the wrong way around perhaps?
Ahhh Alan, I share your feelings, cannot believe that this fantastic journey has come to an end. I have enjoyed watching your restoration with great interest and get very excited when a new episode is released. I'm going to miss your restoration videos but look forward to your other adventures. You have inspired me to start the restoration of my 1956 86" found on a farm near Upington many years ago. Hope I can call on you for advice, motivation and strength! Kindest Regards to you, James
Thank you very much James, all your comments inspired me to keep going. It’s one of the most rewarding things you can do with your time and preserving these legends is a privilege. I’d be keen to follow your progress and more than happy to assist where possible.
A perfectly pragmatic and honest restoration, keeping original as far as possible only upgrading to aid practicality. Very well done!
Thank you very much those were my thoughts exactly. Thanks for watching and commenting
Proud of you!! Many legends you were part of but this one is all your own!! Sira
