- In this video I go over all of the options that I looked for when buying my Dodge Charger, as well as some things to look out for and some regrets with the car. I hope you find this video helpful and leave any questions in the comment sections down below, thanks! #dodge #hemi #dodgecharger
Nice video man, I’m from Michigan as well. Good to see folks like us appreciating American cars like this.
Thank you I appreciate it! Maybe I’ll catch you at a car meet this year
As a Current 1 1/2 owner here I definitely agree. It’s not the newest looking car but it definitely acts like it. The car is a dependable daily for me as well if maintained properly. I feel like my inside interior is more better looking with the red leather than the outside. Some paint has faded, side skirt broken, constant creaks, suspension is moderate to poor by worn bushings. But flaws aside it still feels like a sedan muscle car
Oh yeah it’s a sedan muscle car for sure! I love the red leather interior, that’s awesome!
Ive had my 2013 charger srt8 for 4 years now best vehicle ive ever had for sure
Sweet, I love the SRT8s! That’s an awesome car man
Awesome vid. I bought my rt 2013 from car max and I got the control arms replaced and new front struts
Thank you! I got new front struts but I could definitely use some new control arms too. Thanks for watching!

Cool video I got one for my first car I like it bc it smooth and good looking but I want to add the spoiler but idk if am a regret bc I have a habit of eating or sitting on the bk lol
Where did get those wheels ?
Thanks I appreciate it! I got the wheels from Belle tire a while ago, back in 2017. I originally bought them for my Chrysler 300 at the time but they fit on the charger nicely
And my dash squeaks when I went over bumps. It may be the bushings may be worn on the control arms.
I have a 2014 RT Tor red fully loaded except the beats
Honestly feels like a blast daily driving this car the only thing that bothers me is the back up camera failing often 😅
Nice I love the tor red color! I bet that thing is a blast to drive. That’s weird the backup camera fails, I wonder if that is a common issue
I have a 12 rt max? Plus? Has 4 heated seats, ac front seats, heated steering wheel and mirrors. Heated and chilled cup holders, back up cam, tan leather and so much more. Paid 16k at 96k miles in 2020. Has 122k now and have had to do 6k in repairs. It just breaks all the time. But the awd is a beast in the snow. Sounds great and know I’ll never get another awd v8 car again. So I keep it running. Plus the 11-14 chargers look the best in my option. The hood and headlights are just so much better than the newer cars! Enjoy it as long as you can my man!
That’s awesome!!! I think the 11-14 chargers are the best looking too. I’m surprised it breaks all the time, mine has never had any issues knock on wood. I plan to run mine till the wheels fall off and then build it back up again lol
@@apprenticeautomotive new power steering rack, awd module, transfer case seal, water pump, lower control arms, front axles, trunk release sensor, new tires ever 10k miles (zero burnouts cause awd), fresh air door actuator, something ac regulator, radiator, upper lower hoses, idler pulley, breaks and rotors. All in 26k miles. The passenger door is pulling away and now the cluster gauge has a battery light on, but no charging issues, it’s the cluster. But have had it over 120 many of times. Guess that’s what you get when you drive it hard. And that’s not even figuring in the 13.5 mpg and mid grade fuel!
You bought a neglected charger
@@Br99klynINg24_8 that’s what I thought too. But there was huge amounts of service records for it. It was a corporate car that the person using it didn’t have to pay for any service. Things that most people ignore was done before I got it. I researched awd hemis before getting mine and everyone had nothing but great things to say. Maybe mine is just that 1? Doesn’t matter either way, I’m going to continue to beat it and fix it till the doors fall off!
With a proper engine/trans tune and a high stall converter this thing would rip! For context, my turbo 2006 5.7 300c with the 2015+ awd police charger runs a 10.8@126mph and does awd burnouts haha
No way that’s so awesome!! I want to do it so badly. Do you have any videos of you running at the track? I’d love to see it
yea, there are some on my channel
@@ZZZracing I just checked it out, that thing is awesome!!!! Did you have to do anything to have the front transfer case handle the power?
@@apprenticeautomotive It's the stock 2009+ transfer case, but instead of an awd controller its on a 12v on off switch. Basically burnout mode, and 4wd mode. So far so good.
Nice, I bought a 2013 ex-FHP car in great condition. Planning on doing some upgrades. Where did you find those rims? They look similar to the Viper rims on the Ram SRT truck.
Nice that’s sweet! They are the SRT-10 reps, I got them from Belle tire back in like 2016 originally for my Chrysler 300 at the time. Not sure if they still sell them or not
I’m looking at this 2013 charger rt with tan leather interior but doesn’t have the paddle shifters:/
Are they reliable cars and good as a daily driver?
Yessir, I’ve had mine for 60,000 miles, currently at 130,000 miles, and have had zero issues. I’ve heard of other people have some issues, it all depends on how you take care of it and how the previous owner has taken care of it
How many miles does it have?
130k
Mine has 245k mi. Main issues to replace: ball joins, suspension bushings, coolant thermostat, oil cooling unit, climate actuators.. A little bit of oil leak at the heads, and the transmission is making me nervous.
How's the insurance cost on this?
Depends on what state you’re in, mine is about the same as a Mustang, Camaro, challenger of similar years so it’s “competitively priced” I’d say
@@apprenticeautomotive Makes sense, I've had Mustangs, SS Camaro, ZL1 and a Corvette, so I figured it would be about the same cost. Thanks for replying!
It matters what age you are as well
