- In 1991, a melting glacier revealed the body of a man. At first, people assumed he was a hiker. But then scientists discovered that he’d been dead for over five thousand years. This is his story, the story of the stone age mummy known as Ötzi...
The Ötztal Alps, more than 5,300 years ago. A Neolithic clan has settled nearby a creek. It is their leader Kelab’s responsibility to be the keeper of the group’s holy shrine Tineka. While Kelab is hunting, the settlement is attacked. The members of the tribe are brutally murdered including Kelab’s wife and son, and Tineka is gone. Blinded by pain and fury, Kelab is out for one thing alone - vengeance.

For me as a film enthusiast, this film is a gem: no silly dialogues, no mobile phones and love stories, just great nature and pure people!
This film was a work of art. It had stark beauty. Very few words were spoken (if any) yet, you knew exactly what was happening the entire film through rhe conveyance of emotions alone.
Una historia creada muy facinante..una película que será muy buena hermosos paisajes también...
You have to appreciate a movie when the story can be told well to the audience without using a language we can translate.
I think it’s amazing to think that that frozen corpse these researchers found in 1991, had some story behind him. What Ötzi’s life was like, what he’s seen, and what he’s been through. I know that the director of this film can’t possibly know the true story of Ötzi. But it’s amazing to think that this 5,000 year old man lived and died for some kind of purpose. Murdered or not.

I agree im so fascinated with otzi the iceman 5300 years old born around 3300bc and died around 3345bc its truly incredible and such and incredible story of a stoneage man or copper age
It is sure that he was killed, but the reason is unknown.
this was truly spectacular.
When he said , Arrghhh !!!
I felt that.
Saw a movie, similar to this, while watching it , came to realize that it is about otzi and was glad that a movie was made about him.
I just finished watching this movie a few minutes ago. Beautiful cinematography.
Likewise, outstanding filming, gorgeous scenery, fantastic movie!

Great movie and cinematography. Please hire me for stills on your next movie.
There are hardly 2-3 decent movies set in prehistory. It is a pity, it seems like a fascinating time to me. Virgin nature, a planet Earth inhabited by very few human beings; caves and locations that would serve as a refuge for thousands of years, generation after generation; different human species coexisting (at least until 40,000 years ago)...
Good examples this movie and Alpha are my favorite movies of all time

Just finished watching this movie on Amazon Prime! Phenomenal
I'm wondering how I missed this when it came out? I'm def putting this film on my short list, looks really good.
Great film! Great message! A very important movie.
I believe he got his revenge. Lastman dabbing.
Très beau film, ils respectent bien la véritable fin d'Otzi, avec une fléche dans le dos!
Life was so simple peaceful yet brutal
I hope that the movie will show us how he made his bow and arrows compared to how modern bows made considering, following growth rings when shaving, steaming to bend, etc., if otzi followed or made his bow with the same method.
Great movie! Visually a work of art!
I just watched this movie and it was amazing 10 out of 10

Awesome Job on this film. Hit the "Neolithic Clan" right on the spot. Loved the fact that one had to interpret what they were saying through body language and just plan Old paying attention. Kinda like "Quest for Fire: from 1983. Check it out if you haven't already seen it.
I remember a poem or saying: „I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.” (D. H. Lawrence)

Anyone have an idea what the Tinaka was? Was it metal, was it a rock split open with minerals?
A Rock.. but to the holder ... it was a holy shrine... so it had mystical ethereal value to those that believed it was valuable.
It will have been a glassy, polished mineral. Many rocks give a mirror-like surface when they are carefully polished. I think self-knowledge is a fundamental moment of all spirituality.

We all know that Ötzi died from an arrow in his back...But in this film, who was the shooter?
Was it someone from the village of the 3 men that he killed? Much like a revenge killing that Ötzi himself underwent?
I wish the Director explained it just a little bit more.
It was one of the enemy raiders Otzi knocked out but didn’t kill in the beginning, wear he rescued the boy, who saved him in the cave.
He was saved and condemned for that action
@@johnhenry4844 Close he had mistaken 3 other men for the attackers of the village and when he approached the boy last he then realized his mistake and realized they weren't even raiders by all the goods they had on their sled probably some sort of trading men.
When there was no xray, i knew that he got an arrow from his right shoulder. He was killed by 3 guys. I knew what he was wearing. I saw his pain and fear on his face. You made a movie but truth wont change.
They also found 4 different types of blood on his body so it's safe to assume that he killed some before he got murked
He was hit in his left shoulder blade witch hit an artery witch coursed him to bleed out they found blood on his arrow from 2 different people they also found blood on his clothes and on his fkint blade he definitely went down fighting and ye nay of died but he took the bkood of those with him
Фильм про Этци Симилаунского ? Интересно !
Decent flick. Reminded me of Death Stranding
Imagine living in those times.
May I suggest the study of human fossils. You can begin from 7-4.4 million years to now. YT can be highly educational.
Amazing, but rough. And we basically did, I share 10,5cms of my DNA with him 😊
No cellphones, no ppl confused with their gender , deadly diseases and conditions on every step, literally everything and everyone can kill you, plus mortality rate, damn 😅🙈 i m happy i live these days with vaccines, and my biggest problem being internet sometimes being slow 😅🤷🏼♀️
Absolutely gorgeous movie, loved every second of it
His tools were well worn, and clearly purchased like his copper axe, and he had arthritis in his knees, suggesting he was nomadic for many years before death.

He lived in the copper age, not the stone age.
At least the film itself shows him with a bronze axe.
@@clippedwings225 i believe the actual man was found with a copper axe
You’re right, I thought of the wrong thing.
End of stone age during the copper age he still had stone age type tools and a copper axe
It was end of the stone age and start of the copper age...so both. He had both stone and copper tools/weapons. He was part of both ages.
wow
These people had speech by then....
ucka bugga
The story happens just 5300 years ago. They had built pyramids by then.
They talk throughout the entire movie, just not in a language that anyone actually knows and can translate

Copper Age, not Stone Age actually. 0:18
It was end of the stone age and very beginnings of the copper age so technically both. He had both stone and copper tools/weapons. It would be appropriate to say it was still the stone age in which they were just starting to make the transition. Though I wouldn't argue saying the copper age either. Splitting hairs...meh.
Bom filme

So he was some kind of a stone age john wick right?
Dana white is setting up a fight between Otzi and Fred flintstone. Conor MacGregor is gonna fight the winner.

👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When I see Iceman I think of the X-Men character.
Dude prehistoric women were awesome
So they have tools in stone age to cut down and plane trees to build a proper house. I'll be damned
Wooden huts were built as early as 30,000 years ago. The events in the film take place 5300 years ago, when there was agriculture and copper tools. It really should be called the copper age (chalcolithic) and not the stone age.

Yeah but what if the Otzi was the bad guy and he was shot for a reason?
from what i have read the indication from the archology was that he was running away from something. without making a leap and sugesting premodern humans had anything aproaching a modern justice system i think this is a good way to make an easy to undestand story
Based on how sick he was, (Physically) and busy and utterly rich (Blacksmith who smelted his own axe based on how much arsenic was in his lungs and hair and bags of charcoal and very powerful fire starting fungus, medicial fungus was found, and whipworms, gingavitis, lyme desiese, heart desiese, and HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK MEANING HE WAS RUNNING) I doubt it. My theory is that since one of his arrows in his quiver was different, he did something to make one of his friends or tribe members turn on him- revenge, maybe. (imo makes you just as bad as who your trying to revenge) But I doubt- there was a good reason to kill a 45 year old sickly dude in the mountians.
If you want to see or read a story, where Ötzi is a villain, there is a novel written by Erich Ballinger 'Der Gletschermann'. It was written by German-speaking author and it was translated into, at least, Czech. But I am not sure, if it was translated into English.
Bring this world back QUICK! GREAT FILM
1:10 chemtrails :-) 5000 years ago.
Fcking Illuminati :-) They were scheming even then.
I thought the Ancient Phoenix left those for us to see, no!?!
I don't think they should have shown the people as being so dirty and scruffy and unkempt. Tangled dirty hair and dreadlocks and so forth. Raggedy clothes. They were Stone Age people, not Grateful Deadheads. They would have had combs, they would have washed their faces every day, they would have bathed from time to time. There was a river right there.
hi
It wasn't the stone age.
...
Protonordicos o indoeuropeos.
No, Otzi clusters with Southern Europeans more so than Nordic Northerners. The people closest to him today are from Sardininia. Numerous studies find that the Sardinians are > 80% Early European Farmer DNA, which is the predominate DNA of Otzi.
Anatolio
@@algonzalez6853 Yes, the EEF came from ancient Anatolia.
indoprotonordicoeuropeos
@@theronin Nope, you are incorrect. Otzi was not part of the Steppe Migration movement of people, referred to in the literature sometimes as Ancient North Eurasians. The predominate source ancestry of the ancient peoples of the Steppe is Eastern European Hunter Gather (EHG) with some Caucus Hunter Gather (CHG)/Iran ancestry. Otzi was Early European Farmer (EEF). Y-DNA Haplogroup was G, not I1, dominate Nordic marker today in Northern Europe, nor R1b1, dominate marker in Western Europe today .
