You mean it has just enough repetition and bull$hit in it to be fond of it? I was about ready to pull my hair out. This is not professional sports here; just street shit. The retards in the back must be bored as fuk to be watching some city youths play "street basketball."
I remember playing this game on an arcade machine in the 90’s and when you picked USA they would probably only score one 3-pointer in a game. And I’ve played and watch a lot of matches thru the years as a kid. I think he’s cheating or maybe you can change the difficult on the later releases. You can for example download it on PS4. Maybe they added the option to make it easier to play.
the 90's !an era of my teenage years. the days of arcade cabinets, reebok pumps and nike cross trainers , michael jordan , dorito's and and soda with plenty quaters to play this game
In the video game world of the 90s everyone could hoop and fight. Lol 😂 and the 2000s Mario sonic and everyone learned how to play tennis/golf/go carting..really talented folks those characters are. Lol 😂
This was another one of those games during the 90's that was there to take your quarters in the Arcade figuring you wouldn't finish the entire game or you'd spend a few dollars to do it. (if you went to the Mall you had to go to the Arcade. The memories)
I don't particularly like basket ball games but this is a brilliant game and the only basket ball game I'll play, it's fecking awesome if I'm honest typical NEOGEO style! I love the power slamdunks the screen flashes the rim bends and the players all fall over, thats what makes this game so awesome plus the killer soundtrack and the game play is just right.
I have learnt that the arcade games had difficulty settings open for the arcade hall owners and they could arrange them in the hard modes to get more coins, ie more money.
The only way to finish this game is to use the dunk fake a lot. If you try to dunk, the CPU will always reject you after a certain point in the game. Use the dunk early release which turns it into a lay up, and you will get it every time.. The best team is either the strong 3 point team (Taiwan) so if you need the last second 3's to win you have the best chance, or the best defense for blocks which I think may be Germany?
I love how the theme is "inner city street basketball" but the teams are international like it's a soccer game New York City style boroughs would be more like it
The US version of this game... Street Slam, have lot of citys for select,on dipswitches menú. Oklahoma city, Charlotte, Cleveland, Omaha, Wyoming and more. On Europe/Asia version... is available Brasil,México, Australia and Sweden. Play free online ggpo on Fightcade.
@zidaneff you can, but it follows the Neo-Geo AES tradition of having limited continues per player, the only benefit of the VC version is that you can adjust the settings unlike the Data East Arcade Classics version which doesn't let you set your difficulty (it's always at Level 4), along with being infamous for showing the Neo-Geo logo for a split second before it abruptly cuts to the G-Mode logo
Pretty sure all NEO GEO games were made in Japan as it is a Japanese company with no American or European division. So I would strongly doubt that Blacks or even Whites would be involved in any of their games.
This game is aggressively 90s and I love it.
2 years later and this is my favorite comment of 2021 :)
The game is also aggressively cheating XD

Same especially since I can’t get past the first half of the very first match.
Same here except it was NBA Jams
What is the song at the beginning
Loved these arcade basketball games. More goaltending than in any hockey game I've played 😂
The best basketball game ever. Greatness.
manduheavy vazquez if nba jam was made from a neo geo hardware
i think Konami's Run N Gun is better
Facts
(picks absolute worst 3pt shooting team on the game)
(hits 75% of 3 pointers taken)

Nicely animated. Neo Geo did some good arcade sports.
Pimphand Gamester And no stereotyping, like I'm talking Mr. Popo type shit.
I liked their golf game.
Data East developed Street Hoop.
@@streeTkiDwannaBe It still ran on the Neo Geo hardware though
HALF COURT SHOT.... From the free throw line.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm someone else noticed it!!
Have u ever played nba jam? If u have then this shouldn’t be surprising.
@@stormlighter82 Ha, very true.
This game would give Konami's Run & Gun, as well as Midway's NBA Jam a run for their money!
Not Run n Gun
yo the goaltending in this game is real
Shhh 🤫
I know it's hilarious how bad the goaltending is.
the 90's !an era of my teenage years. the days of arcade cabinets, reebok pumps and nike cross trainers , michael jordan , dorito's and and soda with plenty quaters to play this game
SNK was the best softhouse back in the day
Data East
This is a basketball game that truly needs a comeback, if it were to be possible.
Beelzeburbia | Jackie Sparkles ...it can be played on a modded XBOX
it should be on ps4, xbox one, and switch
The soundtrack to this game is the definition of the 90s.
holy crud this soundtrack though
w o w
Wasn't expecting music to be good
Uno de los mejores juegos que jugué en mi infancia
This game reminds me of White Men Can't Jump. Love that movie!
That movie got me interested in basketball. 🏀
1:14 Beach stage ost 😭
Didn't know Guile from Street Fighter was a hooper.
He goes hard in the paint, *FOR 'MURICA!*

I put a shitload of coins in this game, never got past the second match...
I was 9 years old (i think) when i played this in arcades... When i was 14 years i still couldnt finish this game. It's so hard yes, but so fun too.
That's because the game was so hard! Incredible arcade tho
Lol

This soundtrack is great.
I never knew the commentator in both Street Hoop and Run N Gun are the same guy.
Favourite game I still play this almost everyday
This is great footage of the dream team at the olympics.
I love how all the shots at the ft line are "half-court shots" 😂
Best neo geo game
Juegazo y con una excelente banda sonora.
If you look closely though.. NBA Homecourt plays exactly like this.

Capito Stars 2 Considering this "Street" level basketball, it wouldve been dope had the teams were from ficticiously named boroughs/neighborhoods
This is one of my favorite games
another cool arcade game...

Magic on the blacktop!
You can tell no one black was involved in this game programming lol or testing lol
GamerGee I agree it just seems like a basic stereo type portrayal of an urban culture activity. That soundtrack doesn't help either.
tenup hanging out the blacktop picking out teams.
First one of them would have to get a college degree in programming.
