Couple of notes i feel like spices are ok during this challenge. They have no or little caloric vaule they just make the food taste better. Second thing is minor but that little bluegill you catch in your trap would definitely been catfish bait. Loved the video like always. Hope you and all your people are well
catfish are so limited in my region, it’s rare to catch catfish big enough to eat :/ sadly, because i love catfish. I also agree, next time im using spices 1000%
I would even extend the spices thing to a limited amount of cooking oil

I am 71 years old and I have to admit I am a scaredy cat when it comes to bugs and spiders. Hate them.
The ex got bit by a wolf spider. His leg was so bad he was in the hospital for a week. Afterwards, his calf needed debridement and packed everyday for months. It was bad. I’m so insanely thankful you didn’t get bit ❤

Love the video! Here in the South we call crawfish "mudbugs". They're good eating, but you've got to have some corn, potatoes, Old Bay seasoning etc. I don't think vegetables are cheating. But then, I don't think bacon is cheating either - bacon makes it better Becca! What you cooked looked delicious though so thumbs up and congratulations on the challenge! 👍😃.

My wife Diane just brought a watermelon home and it was the sweetest one I've ever had! They're really good this year for some reason. 🍉
We grew up on lake and river. Ate bass, crappie and catfish almost daily! 😊

I hope you have Old Bay to go with those crawdads. OK edit. You make your rules for your things. Personally, I don't think any; seasonings, fats that are used for cooking (like butter or oils), or vegetables should be included in what you can't have that was not foraged.
that’s not how a survival challenge works sadly lol I can’t use any seasonings.

If your ever put in the Midwest, come crawfish trapping. They're bigger than any of those, plentiful, and a lot of what you'll catch will have claws big enough to be worth eating.

I just started the video but if your ever in Connecticut again (my home turf) there’s a pond/lake in Lebanon CT called Williams pond. It’s carry in only so it’s not over fished and I’ve caught some big lmb’s in there!

Try non seasoned bait. Raw meat, fish guys, canned cat food sometimes works. The spices in the sausage probably hindered more than helped.

Wolf spiders haunt me in my house down here in Georgia and they crawl up my back while I’m in my bed, chair, couch & appear in my bathtub and I’m TERRIFIED of them…almost as big as a human hand average size 😮😮😮

You should consider going to eastern North Carolina. There’s a river near me that is challenging for fishing. I take my kayak out on it and see lots of fish but never really put to much effort into catching them. There are also islands you can camp you can only get to by boat, kayak or ferry.

Bass, catfish, trout and cod are what I eat. Battered and fried!
It ok to eat bass , just do detox smoothie to help with levels of mercury etc …. (At some point ) we all need to detox heavy metal in our bodies anyways .. look up what u need , it’s easy berries spinach banana , so some protein and stevia etc

I know I'm a bit late to comment on this video but just curious if you put any bait in that crawfish trap? Ive seen some people filet a fish, put the skin and head in the net and next morning had a ridiculous amount of crawfish in the trap lol

I'm in southern Oklahoma USA and I found a wolf spider the size of my palm in the fold of my blanket, I laid my head right next to it, looked to my right to grab my weed to roll a blunt and saw a huge wolf spider run away from where my head was laid at, I got up and started stomping on my blanket until I seen it in pieces 😂 biggest spider I ever seen and it jumps too

Sup Becca, not many do 48+ hours eating off the land👍, seasoning isn't cheating lol, did great, admission Ive eaten game from squirrel to moose, clams to fish ect . But I'm terrified to try crawfish 🤷lol. I've never eaten bass, but never fished for bass where management plan in place. Don't feel bad, very proud girl. Tyvm tc 🎣
Oh yeah, I’m in Oklahoma and even though Wolf Spiders are harmless but they can get huge and scary looking.

You are so right about the wolf spider. Those are huge and not only that if you get bit by one you would of had to go to the er. So glad you left the area where it attacked you. The spider gets provoked when its bothered. It carry's it's eggs every where. But HeY.... the video was great!

Wolf spider bites actually aren't dangerous to humans besides mild irritation. They are scary as hell though. They do hunt other more problematic spiders like the brown recluse and the black widow so they're not bad spiders to have around besides looking utterly terrifying.
A friend of mine was bit by a wolf spider and the whole fort swelled up. It has to be drained. Then, they removed part of the skin.

I ate a largemouth and a smallmouth, caught in NH. The largemouth tasted good but was oily. The smallmouth was good eating, but not as good as perch.

I’m sorry I’m late to the game yesterday I got caught up doing quite a few things. I saw the spider and it jumped. Do you have a right to be scared? It’s really hard to do a three day challenge catch and eat I’ve seen other people try that and never make it but I also saw some beautiful views and great job

it’s a private place, lots of expensive boats, expensive to dock, etc etc. I could get my line wrapped up in someone’s boat prop and what not. I mean if i’m being respectful, i normally won’t get kicked out. but yk.. i don’t recommended going to those fancy places and doing what I did 🤣
