Imo I have no sympathy for denzel and deathpierce. They had a tantrum about kill stealing because they never got the glory of beating Hendrickson while spiting on other holy knights graves. Fraudrin and Grayroad had to break character to not be able to oblterate the Pleiades weakening the intimidation factor of the villains and the story as a whole. Feeds soles of people who already got overpowered by Fraudrin to a creature known for eating soles with Dead Man Revenge and then pretends hes cool for this. Commits treason and gets away with it by stopping Gowther from participating in the defense of Liones(someone who was able to repel a comandment) because a Known enemy spy(Fraudrin) told them to. Just assumed a random goddess was able to beat the 10 strongest demons that we know of at the time Instead of dealing with the random red and gray demons that came with the commandments or they could of done what Howzer and others were doing by helping civilians escape or better yet admit they were stupid for trusting a known enemy spy and release Gowther. Had another tantum about goddesses being evil because Nerobasta did the great crime of being unhappy about being a sacrifice for denzels ego and the tantrum was in a scene where Sariel and Tarmiel were helping people. Tried to stop the Goddesses from helping by antagonizing the Archangels while spiting on the grave of Nerobasta which they killed. Has another racist tantrum then goes of to set up an ethnostate because the goddess who saved him and the demon who killstole him was in charge. denzel and deathperice were never victims they never get punished for there bad deeds they actively weaken the narrative and themes of the story with there presence.
You’re right, but the only reason I think the add to the narrative is because they are essentially our bad examples of humanity within Seven Deadly Sins. They represent the arrogance, the pride, the foolish nature of humans that is rarely touched upon in the series. Almost every other character either doesn’t get screen time, has a redemption arc, or dies, so I do think they add something, it’s just not enjoyable to watch. Though I do agree with you on your points.
I don't think they were intended to be bad examples of humanity as in there was only one instance of the pleiades were drawn as if they were the in the wrong in the scene being when they were having a tantrum about kill stealing and only punished by the narrative once being Dogedo being humiliated by Meli. The rest of the things they did they got displayed as if they were in the right or should have sympathy for and none of the other characters got mad at them for the shit they pulled other than Hendrickson saying dude wtf when deathpierce had his tantrum in front of the Archangels. If they were intended to be bad examples of humanity they would have gotten a lot more shit from characters that are shown in the right/ be humiliated more/ displayed as in the wrong more. As of the moment there actions that they got away with are proving the narrative of the story wrong thus weakening it.
