    Just stumbled on your video...and what a great one it was!
    A bit late to the party but I have actually a bit of nostalgia for this place in particular because...I have been on that exact arcade...although almost 10 to 15 years ago.
    This one was actually one of the arcades I was most fond of in Benidorm (along that road you have a few more arcades), and every night of my vacations on Benidorm with my family, Me and my brother went to this arcade to spend a few Euros to play some of the cabinets.
    The one I played the most was probably Cruisin' Exotica (most likely that exact cabinet you showed on the video) and I remember seeing most of the ones you showed, although I also remember quite a few ones that are not present on the video, here's a small list of the ones I remember the most:
    - The big Cabinet of Sega's 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker
    - The big cabinet of Sega's Star Wars Racer Arcade
    - Konami's Winding Heat
    - The big cabinet (with moving seat) of Gaelco's Championship Tuning Race
    - Sega's Cyber Troopers: Virtual On (with the double joysticks and that square'ish seat)
    - Gaelco's Smashing Drive
    - Midway's CART Fury Championship Racing
    Then you would also have your typical SCUD Race, Daytona USA 2, Sega Rally 2, and so on
    There was one game that I remember playing that I never found or saw again. It was a racing game (Formula 1 or Indy) where the seat was quite bulky and would slide from side to side when you turn in-game. I don't think it was from Sega, but I really can't remember anything more (This is most likely an arcade from around 1997 - 1999). I'll try to search for it
    Edit: I've found it just now!
    - Namco's Ace Driver: Victory Lap
    As a final point I would like to say is, the Mini Golf Course was actually part of the Arcade itself. The place was divided in half (more or less) where one was the Mini Golf Course and the other was were the arcade machines where.
    Once again, thank you for your video, It's sad to see that this place is now location of a new hotel and I will most likely never play the games I played there, but it was a great trip down memory lane :)

    What a great video! The saddest part is how obscure most of these games are. It's like going to a zoo to see a white rhino, but you can hardly make it out from where you're standing. Slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

    My dad worked on a Holiday Hypermarket and they had an Alpine Racer machine in the section where they booked snow-sport holidays. Used to play on it a lot and a famous Irish Comedian Frank Carson opened the store and watched me play on it!

    Oh no. Such a shame.
    I wonder if they'll find new homes in the future.
    I remember seeing Sonic Blast Man in a Torquay arcade as a kid, and being baffled as how to play it.

      I hope so but somehow I doubt they will be played again :( that whole area was quite run down and a lot of closed down amusements, casinos etc..

    Just checked Google maps and it looks like the building has now been demolished! I do hope someone saved the arcade machines before the building was destroyed.

    Great video! I haven't played any of these games before. I most familiar with arcade games from the late 70's through early 90's. My favorite arcade in he past was Fabers Fascination in Coney Island. My favorite arcade today is Barcade. Both were/are in Brooklyn, NY. It is disappointing to see an arcade close and to see these cabinets in their current state. Hopefully they are still in working condition or someone can restore them.

      That’s great that you have some arcades still! I think they are slowly getting more popular again thanks to people’s nostalgia from when they grew up!

    Looks like one that's just opened in Swindon but it has just 2 coin ops ,Sega Rally 3 and Time Crisis 4 which dont even work.Amongst them are ufo catcher machines and a pac man air hockey game plus some shitty kiddies rides lol.

      @@RetroBreak Its not so bad as at Swindons Superbowl we've alot of arcade games in there new and old and down from there is an old night club which is now a pool parlour of sorts with some really sweet old Sega arcade games and a few modern games.The Superbowl had the Star Wars wrap around screen arcade game that was only out not far back.Quite lucky in Swindon as we've always had a few coin ups lingering around the years.Weve a decent retro gaming shop here also.

    Great video and such a waste and shame all those machines are just left behind but if it’s really abandoned then why is SEGA rally 2 seen next to alpine racer switched on? Also the ocean hunter is a SEGA model 3 hardware game not naomi. Also you didn’t mention anything about the other games like Tokyo cop also by gaelco. Love you crash bandicoot t shirt btw. Monkey mole panic used to be at arcade club in Leeds last year but it wasn’t there very long.

    • @RetroBreak
      @RetroBreak  4 года назад

      There were some machines on nearer the front of the place but no one was using them so idk if they actually worked or not or if they had just been left on. There was really bad screen burn from what I remember! I wish I'd got more video there was more than in the photos too.. Thanks fore watching :)

    • @mrpickles6968
      @mrpickles6968 4 года назад

      RetroBreak so technically it’s not abandoned the arcade other than just most of the machines are switched off and not working. Hope they don’t get scrapped or at least used for spare parts.
