    During the 1990 s , in Mongolia , students came to study a Morin khuur, huumii, long songs from Inner Mongolia, Buriad and other nations. Some of them invited our teachers to their countries for teaching a morin khuur, long songs, huumii and contortions. From that time, our culture spread speedly.

    The Morin Khuur is one of my most favorite instruments. Its box-shape, horse-shaped head (In honor of Mongolia's equestrian heritage), and extraordinarily beautiful sound. It is built in a country whose cultural is absolutely beautiful. 🇲🇳

    pushing on the string as the same effect as pressing the string to a fretboard, shortening the vibrating length of the string and allowing for higher pitch.
    It doesn't really work for plucked instruments, but it does for bowed ones like the violin and the morin huur.

      Is it possible to switch the male and female string the other way around for a left handed player? As in, is it difficult to restring a Morin Khuur?

    • @wtftode
      @wtftode 7 лет назад

      Sakura Moon No. You just take off the strings, switch the tuning legs so they're mirrored, and then you restring. Low string always is on the high peg, high string on the lower peg.
