the level is menacing but the song makes it calm but makes it feel like it tells a sad story of somewhat. normally menacing deco, and a tame or calm song wouldn't go together but somehow avernus manages to make it work! i love it!

Im so tired of people hating on this level, like yeah, maybe the gameplay is bad but I guarantee you havent gotten to over 2% in practice. Also the claim that the deco is bad is absolutely ridiculous. You can not-love it but even tho its a generic theme, it is one of the least generic hell themed levels, not being literally just the color red, and actually having lava, chains, and swords as deco. In my opinion, the vibe it creates is amazing

It was badly merged so most parts are in one editor layer, which makes it nearly impossible to make a proper LDM
The level tried way too hard to be a Top 1, the fixed hitboxes are horrible.
People dislike the level because it has an artificially raised difficulty with fixed hitboxes, and is also very poorly optimized.
As much as people hate this level you can’t lie the songs kinda slaps

Avernus as a level i dont really like, idk what it is. I just dont feel that its worth 2 minutes of my time to watch a showcase or a verification of it.
I gotta admit, i absolutely LOVE the song (dragon fire- F-777) and the shadow of a dragon flying across the screen is FIRE. (Quite literally.)
And uhh.. thats what i like about this level.
We all know that avernus is infamous for its fixed hitboxes. Alot of doggies and zZoinks are so, so used to gds terrible hitboxes so it just seems so unnatural to have them fixed.
The decoration is.. fine. Its very original 😂, and the obkect counts are HEAVILY inconsistent, as yoyr playing through the level, when you reach the drop (or the end) your given the option to fry eggs on your overheating computer.
And as for the end screen. Its an intresting one.. not terrible for a normal level, but for a top 5 demon (as the list constantly changes) its absolute dogshit.
Also at the time of typing this essay out i was feeling tired so yoy could see my creative vocabulary and unnecessary caps arent there
