Definitely a place to go and visit! It was really special and they give you a mini tour before you enter the actual museum too! They take you inside her actual recording studio, the same one thats in the movie! All that for less than $5 I believe. It was not expensive at all!

While they feel horrible that Selena is gone especially the horrific violent nature of her death. I dont believe they feel horrible about the movie of Selena they are very proud of the movie because they succeeded in cementing Selenas fame and story to the world saying she wasnt just any singer she was a SUPERSTAR and she was kind to everyone and didn't have a bad bone in her body. The Quintanilla family is very proud of the movie and Selena's portrayel of who she was as a person but also as a public figure and the impact she had on people. The movie helped the family give Selena some kind of justice that helped their family's grief but also her fans.
Yes it’s sad, but the point of the movie is for remembering and honoring Selena. They liked the movie!
Her dad is the one who casted for Selina A WEEK AFTER SHE DIED. He offered it To Selma Hiac who turned it down because she thought it was so disrespectfu and disturbing. His little girl had not even been buried in the ground yet and he up here calling for roles.. They are the one who urged the movie and the show!! Chris was against the movie. Not a year, a week. This caused Chris to get really sick over it. He was against it and grieving. Then it came out and Chris relapsed over it. The father also made him give up his rights to Selina and her dad took all her money and the rights to everything. Her dad also tried suing Chris for writing about it. Her dad also refused donating his own blood that was a match to Selina in a blood transfusion at the hospital because of his religion. But he tried real hard to keep that part out. The hospital had to intervene and give her one anyway against his wishes but it was not successful because an artery had been hit so she had lost too much blood by then. Her dad was really mean and a monster. His band did not take off so he lived it through his kids. And so was her sister, her sister was jealous and she snitched on Selina getting Chris kicked out of the band because of it. .Her dad hated Chris. He thought he'd make her stop being famous for a family and they'd lose everything. When Chris wanted everything for Selina and her career and every aspect of her future.. He loved her more then anything and anyone. They treat him terribly.
It's been 37 years since my grandmother died and I still feel the sorrow. It's no secret her sister still feels for Selena. It will never go away. Just have to learn how to live with it.
Suzette is such a good sister. Always celebrating her sister’s legacy. I imagine it must be so hard having to relive some of those memories but she does it anyway and does it with a smile on her face. I feel like people don’t give Suzette a lot of credit. She’s a very strong woman and Selena would be so proud.

the way she’s protective over sister’s belongings reminds me a lot of christina grimmie’s brother. a close friend of mine lived with him for a bit, the year after christina had died. his room was filled with her things, he had her clothes on a rack, and her posters on the walls. just goes to show how much these two love their siblings.
And they couldnt just go on. Their entire life was surrounded by her career much like selenas family
Visiting her grave and museum has literally been one of the best days of my life. We actually met and photographed with Suzette and Abraham Quintanilla, they are extremely nice ! I truly enjoyed staring at each item inside the museum. When we went to the cemetery I was expecting it to be as full as the museum but we where the only ones, we had a one on one with her. Best experience ever.

I have heard about Selena all my life, but just recently I was fascinated by her story and her legacy, she’s amazing and she’s my new inspiration.
Amazing how so many years after, she is still inspiring people big and small.
Just to think on April 16th this year Selena would have been 50 years old. Thank you Grammy 2021 for giving this woman her credits. Selena was the first Mexican singer I was totally invested into, her music touched me.

@@JTScott1988 I don’t believe that to be true.. in the book that Chris wrote he explicitly said that it was Suzette that told her father about Selena’s relationship with Chris. Also the Quintanilla family have disassociated themselves with Chris and in fact sued him for even writing a book about her. Also, Chris had nothing to do with the Netflix series and had no idea what was happening, which Suzette happened to be an executive producer of. On top of all of that, the car that USED to be Chris’s and Selena’s was taken from Chris and now sits in the Selena Museum which was built by her family, I believe the cat was taken from him.
It seems to me like Suzette and the rest of the family are incredibly selfish and hateful people, and I don’t believe that Chris is friendly with any of the members of the family.

I’m a white guy that married a Puerto Rican lady 33 years ago and I remember the day Selena passed away, my wife cried like she lost a sister, my wife’s 4 sisters felt equally hurt by the loss.
