    • @dtrn254
      @dtrn254 3 года назад +4

      @@lecuyerdooley1084 Yes, I'm accurate. It's your false 'Buttered Popcorn' narrative that's laughable and so easily disproven by this video alone.
      We all can hear Gordy himself say in this very video he 'liked the group's LEAD singer' (which was Diana Ross during the Supremes' first audition).
      Diana had already secured this same 'Motown' audition through her childhood friend Smokey Robinson. Gordy didn't sign the Supremes' after this audition simply due to their age but it's quite clear who he 'liked'. These are just #FACTS...
      'Buttered Popcorn' wasn't a milestone of a composition for Gordy. Though fun and amusing, the fact is Berry clearly didn't think much of 'Buttered Popcorn' as a music publisher. If so, he would have cut the song repeatedly with other artists to cover it after it flopped with Flo. The song did as much as it could and wasn't remarkable in any commercial or artistic way.

    Barry misused and abused more people than he ever helped. More people who made millions for him died in poverty because he took advantage of their lack of knowledge about contracts, in addition to the fact that the performers were not allowed to take their contracts out of the building. Those entertainers were so eager to sing that they thought Barry was going to look out for their best interests while his plan was to get maximum performance with as little recompense as possible.
