Haha! Love the strapon badge lol. Oh to answer about the soft close vs lock drawers is for when moving box around shop drawers wont open on lock close drawers
6min 20% means it can be on for a maximum of 6 minutes but with an on/off duty cycle of 20 % i.e. 1 minute on, 4 minutes off; 2 minutes on, 8 minutes off and so in.
Just found your channel yesterday. Good stuff bro! You seem like a chill dude to have a beer and shoot the shit with. Need to get you a strap on sticker. Look em up!
You have room on the new box for the cool Kennedy machinists box under the bench. Good luck with the zapper. I am good at letting the factory smoke out of shit like that. That smoke is a bitch to get back in!
My boss always says it's an "easy job" or it'll get better... biggest lie I've ever heard I work for a mechanical contractor and I always plan for the worst but hope for the best
Mike's Tool Shed my boss is pretty cool though, I work for a small company (4 techs, ones a boss and the other is his brother, the manager, and a secretary). He actually comes and helps on jobs sometimes
Maybe I missed it in a previous video but why do you need to build a bug zapper? I understand the want but not the need. A regular store bought bug zapper isn't good enough? Remember, never promise anything. That way people won't be disappointed when you do nothing! Thanks for the video.
+Bruce L. I just want a bug zapper like the old ones, where the bugs explode or catch on fire. The newer models are weak as shit compared to the old ones
+Bruce L. Pretty much, the one thing I loved about that show. Plus I live by a little creek and the bugs are a notch above your run of the mill critters
Mike's Tool Shed the beer stickers are absolutely old school and an absolute must if you can find them! We used to take the labels off of the bottles and put them on cardboard in our clubhouse as kids.
Do a search on RUclips for ZVS flyback transformer. I don't know what would happen to a bug if it caught a bolt coming off something like that. But I'd like to. Building circuits like that is pretty easy. Here's a whole setup all ready to go for $26.28 tinyurl.com/ybxpyq8o That sure takes the guesswork out of things. It looks like it is cranking out a ten inch long spark? If anyone dies fooling with this stuff you didn't get the idea from me.
Correct my ranch skills electrical theory here, but you want the weakest transformer with a large capacitor for this application both for efficiency and safety, yeah? Then bump it up off weakest for real world. We have 4' long bug zappers with stretched mesh grids. Swapped in neon transformers without caps in broken ones on old timer's advice and they didn't work worth a damn - put the caps back in and everything's lively again. We're not too much theory or safety with the transformers, if it works it goes in, with fresh capacitors. Caps usually go out on zaps before anything, and like modern tools they're sealed in epoxy now so there's no fixing them - so we keep fixing our elderly units.
+Jessica Sterinschy lol ranch skills. Yeah the stock xfmr is all epoxied in. I'll need to get another neon transformer and add some caps to it and see how that works differently l. Hopefully I can find one close to the one I blew up
+Kenney Chappuis yeah somone else suggested that. I feel like the jet heater starter is the same thing. Unless the duty cycle is better on the oil furnace one
Stolen valor 😃😁😂 That's a good one! "I paid 128 weeks for that badge." "My uncle died from a busted knuckle for that badge, and you disgrace his service to the Automotive industry...stolen valor! "😣 😀😁😂
How did you hook up the transformer?
I would like to see that bug zapper at work.☠️
brain dead New Yorker that will happen
Haha! Love the strapon badge lol. Oh to answer about the soft close vs lock drawers is for when moving box around shop drawers wont open on lock close drawers
Good stuff mike. You're making me want to "improve" my bug zapper.
Rust and Repair I have a little "tim the tool man taylor" in me. I'd love to turbo my lawnmower

Silver Legend that you, I've never worked on anything with that sort of rating.
They are typically used in oil pressure jet boilers where they only need to run briefly to ignite the oil mist :-))
Just found your channel yesterday. Good stuff bro! You seem like a chill dude to have a beer and shoot the shit with. Need to get you a strap on sticker. Look em up!
adam83094 thanks man. That's exactly what I'm going for on my channel, and I already have a strap on sticker. Just don't know where to put it yet
Man you can kill a bird w/that
You have room on the new box for the cool Kennedy machinists box under the bench. Good luck with the zapper. I am good at letting the factory smoke out of shit like that. That smoke is a bitch to get back in!
Put a motion sensor right up to it.
I just want a bug wand that one shots a roach, just had one survive over 20 hits till the point its antennae were singed completely off.
Hey man I completely agree about that husky badge do you remember where you got that snap on badge ?
Mr. Fix it Ebay, I think it was like 12 euros with 8 shipping,
Mike's Tool Shed lol cool man thanks!
1k Volts per 1/4" arc, maybe disect a 100kv taser?
giant tesla coil, make arcs 100ft long
I’d prefer to buy one of the big older type of neon sign transformers like from on eBay.
You ever get it to work
My friend said he replaced the stock transformer with a microwave transformer an not only did it destroy any & all bugs but it killed a few birds LOL
I did the same husky to snap on badge swap
yep, you still never gonna test that 1/4 wobble drive either!
+Jusb1066 probably not.
My boss always says it's an "easy job" or it'll get better... biggest lie I've ever heard I work for a mechanical contractor and I always plan for the worst but hope for the best
MFitz717 if the boss says it, it's defiantly bull shit
Mike's Tool Shed my boss is pretty cool though, I work for a small company (4 techs, ones a boss and the other is his brother, the manager, and a secretary). He actually comes and helps on jobs sometimes

Snap On stolen valor. Now that's funny!
I'd put some cheesy sounding brand name on it. Quality brand name tools tend to grow legs and walk away.

I see. More power! grnt grnt grnt!
Thanks for the answer.
+Bruce L. Pretty much, the one thing I loved about that show. Plus I live by a little creek and the bugs are a notch above your run of the mill critters
Use a light dimmer to regulate it.
Tool box sticker bomb in full effect!
Jeff Parker been saving for like 10 years. I still have another stash which I think my wife hit. All beer stickers.
Mike's Tool Shed the beer stickers are absolutely old school and an absolute must if you can find them! We used to take the labels off of the bottles and put them on cardboard in our clubhouse as kids.
Put the Husky badge on the Craftsman box...
+jonsquatch ya know what's funny. I tried that, the little tits that stick out the back that anchor it, line up perfectly. It snaps right on
Get it "snaps on" LOL
A transformer for high voltage I'd look up an oil burner transformer 120 to 10000 volt step up
MFitz717 haha. I won't need the heater to work till at least November. It can do with out a starter for a bit
I'll bet the strap on badge cost about 80 bucks no
Steve Smith like 13 euros, but it added 4,000 to the value of my box, not a bad deal
Now the question is did autocorrect change it to strap-on because he says that word a lot more or did he do it intentionally LOL

Paul Frederick Paul Frederick, always with the knowledge. Gonna check that out.

You want a transformer for a oil burner forced air furnace
+Kenney Chappuis yeah somone else suggested that. I feel like the jet heater starter is the same thing. Unless the duty cycle is better on the oil furnace one
also those old kerosene/diesel torpedo heaters have a spark coil
Jusb1066 that is exactly what I hooked up to this in the video
then im an idiot! it should be rated more than it was, though? oh well, dunce cap for me
ok a car ht coil, old style, someone will have to make a simple circuit to keep it firing though (not me)
Stolen valor 😃😁😂
That's a good one!

Rob's Wrenches lol. Exactly. So far, no haters yet though
LOL That's good.
