A P2271 code is set when the Bank-1 Sensor-2 oxygen sensor reports a Rich air-fuel mixture.
A Rich condition exists if the engine is getting more fuel than air in the cylinders. (Air/Fuel Ratio is wrong)
P2271 code can sometimes be problematic since it can be caused by many things.
Causes of a P2271 code include a bad oxygen sensor, oxygen wiring issues, or Rich condition such as wrong fuel pressure or bad injector.
Possible Causes of a P2271 Code:
Bad Oxygen Sensor
Oxygen Sensor Wiring (Open Short)
Rich Running Condition (injector, purge valve, fuel pressure)

But why would sensor 1 not show a rich mixture code? If sensor 2 is new and tested working..I checked all my injectors and everything else.. no vacuum leaks no fouled plugs coils are fine.. everything has been checked.. O2s are both new tested working.. changed exhaust manifold collector flange gasket..etc etc etc etc.. checked wiring.. everything done with a multimeter.. everything checks out.. fuel pressure is fine.. no other code.. just a damn p2097 sensor 2 trim rich.. im not using cheap sensors.. denso upstream and ngk downstream..not sure what a purge valve is on this car.. 2008 Suzuki sx4.. tried looking it up to see what it looks like.. cant find any.. i assume its an EGR valve?
