GREAT video tutorial Henry... very thorough explanation, THANK YOU! Continued success from Houston,
Texas, USA.
Veri informstive video. It shines trough thst you have so much skills man.
I looking forward to follow and see your new videos!
Great job osren team! Once again another great video from you guys. I like the new background music. Btw, Henry, what's up with your preve repainted panel? So much of orange peel, looks like spray shop didn't do a good job?
For that panel, he deliberately asked not to have the panel leveled so he could make a video of it on leveling hehe. Video is uploaded here: ruclips.net/video/CtCGCgJsrIk/видео.html
I would prefer to start with least aggressive combination and increase aggressiveness as required.
But very nice explanation of paint hardness.
Thank you for this. It kind of confirmed what I already knew about Honda’s black factory paint (it’s shit). And how certain pads and products will visually
Make things look worse or not.
Another informative video! Thanks Henry!
You are a legend!!!
Perfectly explained and demonstration...
Thanks Bobby, hope this helped
I saw you had a a clay baring episode coming up, do you have any tips on claying soft black paint without marring? Thanks for all the help you give us btw ..
Hi Bobby, for claying tips..
•We recommend using a soft type of clay to clay black paints.
•Use ample of clay lubricant (shampoo or quick detailer) and,
•loosen a bit of pressure to reduce marring.
•Make sure clay surface is clean while clayingg and wash(clay cloth) or flip and reveal clean surface (clay bar) if necessary.
I hope this article helps: osren.com/blog/?p=48
I was hoping there was a chemical solution like maybe a iron x or tar x to help things loosen, doing a 6 inch square of a panel turns the clay as dirty as the clay in the article so its constant folding the clay over and over takes real long, I live in winter climate they use sand and salt on the roads, and when summer arrives we detail.. Thank you again.. Loved your video on Da usage btw you're the only guy on youtube showing the proper pressure technique..
You may consider using a clay cloth instead of a clay bar. It covers much more surface and gets the job done in shorter duration.
Excellent explanation. BTW, do we apply the same polish/waxing technique on car bumper too?
No, its a plastic panel .. Be less aggressive... Waxing has nothing to do with polishing or defect removal
Great question! Polishing and waxing are different. Polishing is an act of correcting paint, while waxing does not correct any paint, rather it boosts shine to an existing paint.
On bumpers, you may approach with the same combination that works on the car panels too. However unlike metal, plastic doesn't disperse heat that effectively and may behave differently. Keep an eye out and adjust accordingly.
In 3 case using same cutting pads
Question... The purple foamed wool pad, is it the Lake Country PFW pad? If yes, is it the "THIN" PFW or the regular 1" thick PFW pad?
Sharp observation. Yes, indeed it is a lake country pfw. The regular 1" thickness foamed wool.
Ah ha, thank you... detailer's eye, you know we see everything. lol!
Mantap
Hai sir...Maksud oem dkt whiteboard tu warne asal kilang ke?
yes betul
Good video. How to prevent holograms with rotary ?
Practice alot, every paint and sometimes every panel is different, no one technique works everywhere
Hey Brum, sometimes it is inevitable that after compounding there will be some micro-swirls or hologram left behind. Just finish it with a less aggressive combination of pads, abrasive product, speed (hand speed and machine speed). Hope this helps! We will be publishing a blog related to your question in depth very soon!
Blog post is up and it covers the hologram that you mentioned, osren.com/blog/?p=357
hope this helps
OSREN (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD nicely done. Thanks
Please subtitle indonesia .. thanks osren
We will keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!
What if you increase speed for the hard paint with same pad and compound?
Theoretically, You will get more cutting than intended. There are times when switching combination of pads or products would be more effective. Paint reacts differently when it is hot, and increasing speed means generating more heat.
OSREN (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD thank you for your explaination. Btw nice to see your video again :)
I hit like but its not turning blue or counting my like. Anyone have same problems??
You explained the problem but not the solution as in what to use on soft paint.
Hi BP Y! The solution to soft paint can be found in this video instead. Here’s the link to it

The video that you just watched is about leaning how to find answers. Sorry for the lack of information / confusion
Nice demo. That repaint was horrible! 😯
Thanks for the kind words! Regarding the horrible paint job, yea, we didn’t have the car sent to a good painter. By any chance do you paint cars?
