    Awesome dude, thank you. I was thinking I was restricted to 24 per preset slots for the 60 songs or so on my setlist. This really changes the game.

    Hey Rosh! Question for ya…..is there a way to apply two or more effects to one switch? Specifically I want to assign a delay and a boost to one foot switch. Thanks!

      Yes, you can use a control switch and tie the bypass state to both effects

    Thank you for this! If you were to override the Batch up and down switches then how would you batch on the unit when you need to?

      You can use the "ez mode" to restore the original functionality to the switches or use the reset to factory layouts option as well

    I was struggling to follow until I realized that in FM9 Edit, I needed to hit the FC Edit button, then FC Config because my "Per-Preset Overrides" selection was disabled for some reason. Once I enabled it, it all came together. Thanks for these videos! :)

      @@RoshRoslin Thank you for the awesome video series. I was able to set it up. Scenes plus quick access to the looper and effects layouts. Also rearranged the effects order. Wouldn’t have been able to do that without your videos. Also the scene leveler in your gain staging video was a lifesaver. So many presets I have downloaded have extreme volume swings between scenes. Appreciate all your hard work. I’ll keep watching!

    Thanks for the video! Is there a reason you built your per-preset layout overrides on Layout 1 (the Presets layout) instead of on the PER-PRESET layout?

    • @RoshRoslin
      @RoshRoslin  4 месяца назад

      You can put any of the per preset switches on any of the layouts. So if you have a preset that uses multiple layouts, you can put the switches on different layouts.

    When you save to a new preset number to make a per preset, If you make a global Change on the new preset it will change the original as well or only all copies of the new preset ? Does the save as template have a different behavior ? I would like to make several presets from a factory one but change some things for all of them and have others per preset while leaving the original intact .. BTW, thanks for all your effort in these tutorials. Im not a person whom likes tweaking a lot but Im willling to get the tones I like set up. This has made the FM9 a worthwile purchase for me already in what would have been otherwise a much longer learning curve.

      Thanks Tony!
      yes copying a preset will also copy all the per preset parameters which you can adjust at a later time to have two identical presets but different layouts/per preset functionality

    This was intriguing, but what about view 2? There are 24 per preset options, but 9 pedals on view 1 and 3 more on view 2? I must be missing something. But I am intrigued. Do you have another instruction on using all 24 per preset options? Thanks

    • @RoshRoslin

      With the FM9, I don't prefer to use Views, I usually end up using more layouts instead. They're easier to program and have higher utillity including more per-preset footswitches.

    Hi Rosh, thank you very much for sharing all this with us. I do appreciate it a lot.
    I need your help regarding the following. I have change the effect on switch 3 in the global layout (layout 4) in stead of via the per preset approach as you show in this video. For a particular preset I wanted 2 delay in layout 4, and changed the original effect of switch 3, to delay 1. Now I have this delay 1 for every preset in my FM9, my mistake. I have reset the FM9 and import every preset from scratch, even the ones I have bought. For some reason, I still have the same issue (does the unit remember the change after reset?). I have reset switch 3 (again in the global layout; my mistake again) and now switch 3 is completely blank.
    Question: is there a way to adjust this error so I can have the original effect on switch 3 for each preset, even for the ones I have bought? I need the original effect for each preset back on switch 3. I hope you can help me with this issue.

      No, but you can save it on a regular layout and just use that layout for specific presets, and the default ones for your regular presets

    Hi, thanks for the great video. I have just one problem, when I’m on a preset with a per preset layout the bank up/down actual switches don’t let me choose another preset. I mean if on a regular layout when I press the bank switch the bottom 5 switches let me choose another preset. Now it will not. What’s the fix? Thanks.

    • @RoshRoslin

      You need to also manually add bank up/down to your per preset layouts and have them echo the same functionality as the factory switches

    Do we have 24 per preset configurations for each preset? Or they are also global and you can choose in each preset one of the 24?

    • @RoshRoslin
      @RoshRoslin  Год назад +1

      The per preset feature is 24 per preset, the global depends on your unit, and if you're using more layouts etc. The combinations are infinite.

    Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to use a single footswitch to switch between two blocks? I mean, pressing the foot switch turns one block off and another on. I would like to use two amp blocks, one clean and one dirty, and with a single footswitch switch between them. thanks

    • @RoshRoslin
      @RoshRoslin  2 года назад +1

      I would use the multiplexer block then that functions like an A/B switch which would route the signal path from one block to the other

    • @therealshavenyak
      @therealshavenyak 2 года назад

      I think you could also use a "control switch", assign to one of the footswitches, then put the two amp blocks in parallel, and control their output levels with a modifier set to that same control switch. You'd use min of 0 and max of however loud you want it on one amp, and on the other you'd set max to 0 and min to your desired volume. Then pressing the switch will essentially mute one and turn on the other.
      You could even play with the "damping" parameter on the modifier page to get a smooth cross-fade between the two with each switch press.
      Disclaimer: I just got my FM9 and haven't done this on it yet, but I've used this basic technique on the AX8.

    Thank you Rosh for creating this series of FM9 tutorials, they are extremely helpful and I've learned a lot from watching them over and over and over again.... Question on using the Per Preset function. I've set up a few presets and designed the layout with PPF for each. I left the two Bank buttons alone thinking that I 'd be able to use them to change or switch between my Presets or bank up/down and select the factory presets. In the video, your using the FM9 editor to switch between presets, is there a way to switch between presets using just the foot switches, any tips?

    • @RoshRoslin
      @RoshRoslin  2 года назад +1

      Hey Rob,
      Yes I would recommend watching my video about navigating through banks/presets. I go through it there. But basically: Instead of using the "bank" function. I assign the "preset" function and use it to increment/decrement up and down by one preset at a time. You can also set the boundaries of what presets you want to use or all of them

    Hey Rosh. After some time of usage I faced with another problem. When I use a switch to toggle bypass for any separate effect, the "edited" led becomes on. Is there a way to ignore switching from footswitches for edited state. The problem is that I already many times by mistake saved effects as "on" to some scenes, when I didn't need to. Because I turn on the effect with an effect toggle, scene becomes edited, I save it by mistake and it's now with a turned on effect. This is quite annoying and happens quite often when working with FM9 edit. Or that's the only way to live? :)

    • @RoshRoslin
      @RoshRoslin  10 месяцев назад

      If I understand your question correctly, you can set "Prompt on Edited Preset Change" to off in the setup menu.
      As for the edited light itself, that is a function of the unit.
