No one can beat Nagarjuna when it comes to Andhra meals . Undoubtedly the best in town . It's been more than a decade that I am visiting this place . Always ready for it ... Almost addicted to it..
There is an outlet called Andhra Gunpowder. that's actually better than Nagarjuna and more authentic. while most of bangalore Andhra restaurants has rayalaseema influence, not the 100% andhra. only problem is that its takeaway. try the one in frazer town.
1) Thanks for reminding my good old days of 1985. 2) This Nagarjuna Restaurant was located next to "Galaxy theatre" at that time. 3) Even though I used to stay at Taj Residency in 1985, I used to take my dinner at Nagarjuna only. 4) Subsequently I visited many times ( may be more than 100 times) up to 2017. 5) I am still not able to digest how Mr. Kripal Amanna managed to eat only Vegetarian food on that Saturday with out touching Non-Veg items?. Really great. 6) It is interesting to note statement of Mrs. Kripal that he will never leave Non-Veg food.
Though I am from Coastal Karnataka but I like Andhra veg meal a lot. Fresh hot rice with Pappu and hot thuppa along with some fries...ah..that's heaven. I can never say no to Andhra meal. 😊😊
Agreed I'm from Malnad Karnataka, first time i had pappu, it was in a small time Andhra mess and I fell flat for it. When I need that zing in the food , the spicy tamarind pickle, and runny rasam definitely a comfort food too

I'm from Tamil Nadu, but i feel Andhra vegetarian meals are the best in India We won't even finish with podi, pachidis, pappu, we will be already full.
Stop comparing which food is the best or not. Every Indian state has developed it's own food culture since ages, ancient times and that's according to geographical climate and local produce. So have respect for all food culture. And stop comparison but enjoy and relish.

I been trying this place since 1985 when I was so new to Bangalore. I try their Andhra vegetarian meals only each time I land in Bangalore The vegetarian meal taste , the ambiance remains the same since my very first visit there. I conratulate the owners for maintaining hygiene, taste and prompt service even on busy days. Their Non-veg meals aren't of my liking though 😕 Thanks to Kripal for bringing up this episode.🥂⚘👍
If you recall there used to be an RR restaurant at the entrance of Church street (it doesn't exist now though).... they served amazing Andhra cuisine then
@@swastik2123 I remember very well there was a RR restaurant next to this Nagarjuna, but I never felt comfortable there, hence I never visited thereafter. Having just one vegetarian meal at Nagarjuna is like embracing the whole of India especially whenever I return from abroad 😎 Due to overcrowd, unplanned growth, pollution etc , Bangalore lost its old world charm completely.

Nise to see both of u. She made it very clear pachadi cannot be clubbed with pappu. Telugu meals should be eaten in a specific order. Start with Pappula podi, then pachadi then curry the pappu then sambar or rasam and last is curd.
'Sasuve' ( Mustard)....in telugu is 'Aavaalu', not sasuvulu. Mustard oil in Telugu is Aava nunay. 🙂. In Aavakaaya pickle in Andhra region, main ingredient is āvapindi( Mustard powder), which is why it's called āvakāya.

To eat powders and pickles; that induced me to eat " khara" food. Gunpowder became a huge attraction for me. An unlimited supply of this powder, that also with ample ghee, makes me nostalgic. Invariably we use with Upma and Poha.

I lived on Brigade road for 5 years, Nagarjuna hotel was just a 5-minute walk from my house. I enjoyed the food at this hotel. Amazing & Real Andhra taste. Reasonable price. For the Andhra meal, this is still the best hotel in Bengaluru. I was lucky, lucky.

Andra foods veg or non veg is a course dishes. Very rich from hyderabad house in Delhi to Tada in the borders with Tamilnadu. During Krishnadeva Raya the bhramin cooks from Andra brought to udupi, shivalli to cook for Vadiraja swami. Then it's been a history of Shivally bhramin hotels all over southern India. Serving dosa, vada & meals. With mysore coffee.

Very Nice Kripal, Long awaited video of much acclaimed Nagarjuna restaurant which is worth a visit for all the bangaloreans and all . I remember having their full carrier meals somewhere in 1984 for less than 5o rs. That time i used to stay at Hotel Brindhavan and it was very near and they used to deliver food to my room. Nostalgic feeling. Now of course we are seeing the changing times and prices as well. but the food is always good there.Thank you.

Very Nice Kripal, Long awaited video of much acclaimed Nagarjuna restaurant which is worth a visit for all the bangaloreans and all . I remember having their full carrier meals somewhere in 1984 for less than 5o rs. That time i used to stay at Hotel Brindhavan and it was very near and they used to deliver food to my room. Nostalgic feeling. Now of course we are seeing the changing times and prices as well. but the food is always good there.Thank you.

There is no technically Telangana bhojanam. It's simply Telugu bhojanam. Andhra means TELUGU. Even Telangana is also Andhra and vice versa.

Beautiful capturing of the items on the banana leaf, This is one of my favourite restaurants for family meal. Just a suggestion, you can capture with a higher resolution, I believe Go Pro 10 supports upto 1080 p and viewers who are watching on TV will have better clarity.
